TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

DONT GOT HERE! SERIOUSLY! GO ANYWHERE ELSE OR SAVE MONEY/STRESS AND DONT GO. Absolutely floored either office stays open. Husband has been trying for OVER A YEAR to get seen, but every time his appointment comes up they call to cancel. Have had excuses such as people quitting or fired, office has just been closed, and this last one was because they called to confirm his appointment but didn't answer cause of exams and they canceled it; Keep in mind, he'd confirmed that monday. Literally going through the whole process to change insurances because this company is the only one on town thst took our other one. I even was am attempted patient back when they first opened and THEY HAVE NOT CHANGED AT ALL!

yes I was a little late the first time I went to my appointment. I got lost and they gave me deterioration to the office over the phone.. when I got there the doctor waited on me to show up!!! the doctor was very nice and explain everything to me in a nice way!!!!!

I had to choose one star just to write this and they not at all deserve any stars if I could put it in the negative it would be all the way negative!!!! We've been dealing with the same issue since we started seeing them 2 yrs ago!!!! And they call days before the appt after waiting 3 months for appt and tell me they no longer accept our insurance!!!! And they will call and reschedule several times due to office problems and so unorganized and unprofessional!!!!! So if you're looking for great quality care then this isn't the place you want to come to!!!!! I will tell everyone I come in contact with and I work in the healthcare field and many organizations that I will be removing off your lists and keep informing people of your office and to never receive services from y'all again!!!! Thanks for all the trauma you've put my poor child through and now have to go all through again!!!! Run people run far away from these people!!!!!!

Poor management. My son was told in March he has 5 cavities. For the past 7 months we have scheduled appointments only to have them changed, canceled or delayed for various reasons. Today- one day before another scheduled appointment they call and tell me they no longer take his insurance. We have been going here for over 5 years and this is the most unprofessional staff I have encountered

I have been going here for a few months now and it has been great. Madison is the nicest hygienist and is always explaining very clearly what she is doing and how I should care for my teeth. She is also very soft when cleaning teeth and I would highly recommend her to future customers.

After 8 months, I got a call canceling my appointment on Tuesday cuz they are not accepting new patients but made my appointment 8 months ago?? I was seen once on an emergency appointment and dentist was rude and played on his phone instead of wanting to treat me. Unprofessional is nicest thing I can say

There were no problems with the services I received. However, the equipment is old and works only when it wants to, I had to change rooms since the equipment stopped working after we started. The building needs repairs in a lot of areas.

After being canceled on several times I finally got to my appointment the address sent me to the wrong place but I managed to find it they didn't answer their phone so I could find out where they were and let them know that I might be late because I was at the wrong address but here's nor there got there. It's a pretty basic office the staff is nice and the dentist I have to give him props he took time to listen to me and understand the problem and explain to me what can be done I appreciate his time and after I find the dental surgeon to fix the problem I'll be back to get teeth fitted hopefully. I know I only gave them three stars but since I had an appointment at 10:00 a.m. and didn't get out of there until well after 1:00 it is what it is

I was very impressed by the staff at my visit today. I was running behind and before turning me away or rescheduling me, they were able to slip me into another slot where patient did not show. it was very helpful since I drive an hour one way to get there. I was very thankful they went above and beyond

Had to wait for six months to get an appointment and two days before the appointment the office text me to alert me they were canceling the appointment due to weather concerns of hurricane Ian and to reschedule my appointment. I called not even an hour later and was told the new appointment would be in the new year in February, another 5 months away. When I said that was unacceptable the receptionist said would I like to cancel then. This is the worst customer service ever! They think people have nothing better to do then wait on them for service. Would not recommend unless you are getting false teeth because your natural teeth will have rotted and fallen out of your mouth before you will ever get an appointment with this outfit. Steer clear of them and say no to poor service or no service providers!!!! Update Now that hurricane Ian has passed, I am getting email and text from coastal dental stating that I canceled my appointment and to call to reschedule. This place is a joke, they cancel the appointment and try to blame their poor business practices on the patient. Nice try! Do yourself a favor and remember. Say no to poor or no service providers!!! Get the word out to all who will listen
