TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

DONT GOT HERE! SERIOUSLY! GO ANYWHERE ELSE OR SAVE MONEY/STRESS AND DONT GO. Copied this review from the other office because BOTH have been a problem. Absolutely floored either office stays open. Husband has been trying for OVER A YEAR to get seen, but every time his appointment comes up they call to cancel. Have had excuses such as people quitting or fired, office has just been closed, and this last one was because they called to confirm his appointment but didn't answer cause of exams and they canceled it; Keep in mind, he'd confirmed that monday. Literally going through the whole process to change insurances because this company is the only one on town thst took our other one. I even was am attempted patient back when they first opened and THEY HAVE NOT CHANGED AT ALL!

I didn't like nor got along with the girl at the front desk and who called me. Borderline argumentative, not friendly, no personality. I did like Erika Lorenzo (hygienist). She was very kind, pleasant, thorough, and had a gentle, light hand. If it wasn't for Erika, I wouldn't have made an appointment for 6 months. I hope the bathroom is in working order then.

Went through the call-center to make the appointment to see the dentist. When I got to the office in Gainesville I was told the doctor is only there once or twice a week. So I didn't get to see a dentist. Apparently the call center doesn't know this. The staff was more than helpful in setting up an appointment in a month. Fortunately I am not in any pain but I do have a tooth that needs a crown

FRAUD! Charged my insurance company for xrays that never happened. I walked out of that place before I had to open my mouth. No dentist on site - apparently I was to see a tele dentist after my supposed xrays. Got up and left! Called my insurance company and they tried to get a hold of dentist, but couldn't leave a message because the mailbox that was full. They will be seeing me tomorrow. SAD because this used to be a good place

Why I have to drive to Lake City and Jacksonville for my dental needs, is beyond me. This office is badly managed and has NO dentist's. Their website is begging for dentists!!! Please take away the high rating!!! This is the worst!!
