TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

I was skeptical about going here due to the reviews. But honestly you have to experience things for yourself cause someone else's experience may not be yours. Today I went for the first time and everyone was amazing and I was treated with respect.

I have always been beyond petrified of the dentist. When I was young we never were able to afford to go on a regular basis. So by the time I did start going it was always extensive work that I had to have done. That left me with terrible anxiety anytime I would go to the dentist. Especially if I was having something other than a normal cleaning done. But that all changed yesterday when I went for a filling and a crown and then went back again today for three additional fillings and a second crown. The doctor was beyond amazing, extremely gentle and explained every little step allowing me to be at complete peace. I have never been so comfortable in a dental chair in my entire life!!!! I did not feel one single shot on either day and she was extremely quick yet very thorough and did an amazing job! If you are like I used to be and scared of the dentist, I highly, highly, highly recommend Coast Dental at Fleming Island. You will not be disappointed! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!! I was seen for an infected and broken wisdom tooth wisdom tooth, cleaning, ect.. Athlough I have to be reffered to an oral surgeon for the wisdom tooth, they were very helpful and kind. They took x-rays of my mouth and made a specific treatment plan for me. They also made sure I had antibiotics and pain medicine until my follow up with the oral surgeon and it was all done in an extremely courteous and timely manner!!! Thank You Coast Dental!!!

(Translated by Google) I am a Cuban who recently arrived, I have only been here for 5 months, they gave me help from the government and when I called my human insurance they gave me several numbers and among those the one for this clinic and near my house and why had they told me that in that clinic they spoke Spanish request an appointment there on July 1 that day they attended me they gave me an assessment but there was an electrical failure and they could not continue the consultation both mine and my husband's that we both had appointments that day there they explained to me that the insurance allowed them to make me a cleaning and two refills that I needed they gave me the next appointment for September the 13th that day I went to the clinic and they told me that they couldn't see me either because they had rescheduled the appointment that the day before that day they had confirmed very upset that day I reschedule my appointment and my husband's for today 28 when I get to the appointment they tell me that they could see me but my husband's was rescheduled for girlfriend I am already very upset that's why I go into my appointment and they only tell me that they could do a cleaning for me that I had to go back to another appointment I don't know if it is discrimination against us because we are Latinos and we don't speak their language or I don't want to imagine others reasons what I know is that they did not treat us as they should my husband needed that appointment and I had fillings in two molars if I make another appointment for that they will give me an appointment for January for me it was a very bad experience (Original) Soy cubana recien llegada llevo solo 5 meses aqui me dieron ayuda del gobierno y cuando llame a mi seguro de humana me dieron varios numero y entre esos lo de esta clinica y por sercania de mi casa y por que me habian dicho que en esa clinica hablaban espanol solicite cita ahi el 1 de julio ese dia me atendieron me hicieron una valoracion pero hubo falla electrica y no pudieron continuar la consulta tanto la mia como la de mi esposo que teniamos citas los dos ese dia ahi me explicaron que el seguro les permitio hacerme una limpiesa y dos rellenos que yo necesitaba me dieron la proxima cita para septiembre dia 13 ese dia me dirijo a la clinica y me dicen que tampoco me podian atender porque me habian reprogramos la cita cita que el dia anterior a ese dia me habian confirmado muy disgustada ese dia reprogramo de nuevo mi cita y la de mi esposo para el dia de hoy 28 cuando llego a la cita me dicen que a mi si me podian atender pero la de mi esposo se la volvieron a reprogramar para noviembre ya muy disgustada por eso entro a mi cita y solo me dicen que me podian hacer una limpiesa que los rellenos tenia que volver a otra cita yo no se si es descriminacion hacia nosotros porque somos latinos y no hablamos su idioma o no quiero imaginarme otros motivos yo lo que se que es que no nos atendieron como deberian mi esposo necesitaba esa cita y yo mis rellenos en dos muelas si saco otra cita para eso me daran cita para enero para mi fue una experiencia muy mala
