TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

I really like this dentist office everybody's nice and polite and the dentist and all the assistants take the patients Pain levels into account and i would refer every one I know to there office I am looking forward to having a beautiful smile once again

Well the first time I was sooo scared. Then my girl ( sorry I forgot her name) Talked to me so nicely and explained everything to me.even I starting feel confortable and confident with her words. So I just fallows her leads and I just relaxing Was very nice. No pain.. no bleeding I can say with no doubt that's she have heavenly hands 5 stars for her!!!!

Worst dental practice I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I have now had 4 appointments. 3 canceled without informing me. Arrived for one today and was told I couldn't be seen due to them being over booked. This place is an absolute joke

Customer service is horrible! Made a appointment for October 28 for tooth pain after they did work on me 2 weeks ago. Show up on time and the people behind the desk say I have no appointment like I have nothing better to do. To make this up myself. I will let the BBB know and everyone else know about this office because this is not the first time it happened

The actual Dentist is Marvelous however beware of the staff. Me and my husband went here. Multiple times I would show up to a scheduled apt and then be told I don't have one. Doesn't matter what proof you show them.... your wrong they are right. No customer service at all. You ask to speak to someone in charge and the receptionist who answers the phone and checks out people is supposedly in charge. Obviously understaffed. Happened to me too many times I changed dentist my husband decided to stay with them until today. Example: He had an issue with a filling he had last week. I called and spoke to the actual office on Tuesday 10/25 and scheduled an apt for 10/28/2022. My husband shows up for his apt (in pain for about 1week waiting for this visit) and was turned away saying they don't have him on the schedule and book him for December!!!!! I call back the office. Same thing they always say there is no apt. I said there is no evidence I called no telephone message that I called about his pain. Then was told they do not document calls like that. So basically you have to trust whomever you are speaking too is ACTUALLY putting you on the schedule or else there is no proof you called or anything. Its your word against there's. No type of accountability or accommodation for the patient that is suffering because of their errors. My husband whom is a patient for years was just told to wait until December in pain and would be called if there are cancellations. This front office is a joke! Customer Service is horrible you need more staff that are actually able to do a simple thing like scheduling.

Update - After 3 weeks the permanent crown was fitted today. I asked the assistant to carefully remove the temporary crown and she did so without creating any further dental damage, unlike my previous provider. Much care was taken while testing the new crown, x-rays before and after the crown was cemented in place. Very happy with the feel of the new tooth and happy I found this dental office. Today was the first step in a repairing a tooth that my previous dental office broke. I'm hoping that Coast Dental can remove the temporary crown without breaking another tooth. Coast Dental had to rebuild the tooth before placing the temporary crown on the tooth. So far so good. I hope next month I can give a great final review when the temporary crown is removed, and the permanent crown is fitted.

This is the worst establishment ever!!!! I drove 50 minutes to my appointment that they told me I didn't have! They did the same thing with my daughters appointment as well. I will never be using them again!!!! Hope they go out of business!!!!

I would give Coach Dental five stars because the doctor is a very good doctor very understanding I felt very comfortable when I went into the office the office staff was very friendly and very helpful the doctor knew exactly what he was talking about he also had a great sense of humor I just felt very comfortable there and I don't usually like going to the dentist but I actually loved going there

I have feared Dentist due to a very bad experience many years ago. I entered the Coastal Dental office and was shaking until I realized how I was treated, everything explained and the fear was calmed my anxiety was gone by the time I left I knew angels work there and that Doctor P. is a professional.
