TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

Everyone from the receptions, the doctor's assistant and the doctor were top rate professionals. Every question was answered to my satisfaction. The assistant was extreme patient with me. That meant so much because I have white coat syndrome. My visit went very well. I would definitely recommend Coastal.

I just want to say that I have been searching for Dr Lee-Loy for quite some time now and I guess I'd rather have my teeth fall out than to go to someone else! I felt blessed when I found her! She use to provide dental care to my son and then she left the practice where he currently receives care. My son even asked if he can go back to her; in which I'll have to pay cash but all I can say is she's well worth it! The young lady that checked me out at the end of the visit was extremely personable and I love that type of service. I believe her name was Chelsea/red hair... I hope I have her name right! Nadia was superb and very gentle, caring and attentive! She listened and provided great feedback along with explaining some of my processes. Dr. Lee- Loy was still her regular amazing self. Very positive and she made me feel very comfortable. I have a really bad phobia with dentists but not with her. So I will reiterate... I'm glad to have found her again and so is my son who's teeth by the way are impeccable!! Thank you Dr. Lee-Loy for your excellent service and bedside manor!

Today I broke a tooth I half while eating a burger. Called Coast Dental on Bloomingdale and they got me in right away. The staff was very awesome of treating me with care. Called my name back before I could even sit down. X-rays right away and then off to see the doctor. The entire visit was pleasant (can't believe I can say that about a dentist appt). They went over my options on saving what was left or pulling it. I made my decision and they respected it and did what I asked. Thank you all for your wonderful skills and being great!!!!

By far the WORST dental experience I have ever had. Appointment was scheduled for 10:00am. Was not seen until almost 10:45 and that was JUST for X-Rays. Only for the X-Ray machine to malfunction during my exam. There were multiple occasions where the "R" word was said by a technician out of frustration. The conduct in that office is abhorrent and unprofessional. There is zero respect for the patient's time. After not seeing the dentist for almost 90 mins after my scheduled appointment, I made the decision to leave. I will NOT be coming back.

My second visit and was impressed with Dr. Lee loy. Suggested a plan of treatment . Didn't try sell me anything unneeded which I've had happen before. Dental hygienist was great. Numbed gums without shots for deep cleaning.Yay
