TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

This was my first visit at this location. Staff including the doctor makes you feel welcomed. It is a smaill office and I had to wait a little while for a room to become available. I felt comfortable and right at home. I will be back.

Willing to bet 90% of the positive reviews are fake. Gave me horrible fitting dentures and told me to "Just wear them an hour a day" when I complained the first time. Since then they have rushed me thru 2 appointments. Messed up a permanent tooth and promise me they'll call me with solution to my problems. Willing to bet they couldn't pass a Blood-borne pathogens test either being this place is fairly gross every time I've been there. Had to walk out of a room and complain about them trying to sit me in the previous patients blood!

never in my life have I had such an unprofessional and unpleasant experience at a chain dentist such as this one. Every single appointment that I have had has been canceled or needed to be rescheduled due to the staff leaving last minute or not coming in at all that day. What kind of establishment is this? They send thousands of notifications and voicemails leading up to the appointment and on the day of they have to call me to reschedule. I was shocked at my very first visit that the dentist was not in house and i was greeted by a dentist via zoom. How are you going to examine my teeth? The first visit ended in me on a payment plan because "my insurance didn't cover" or "cost more" (why tf should we even have payment plans for TEETH is crazy to me anyway) And I haven't been able to secure another appointment since. needless to say I am stuck in a teeth contract with a dental office that I will never return to. My most recent appointment was scheduled two months in advance for this exact reason because my last appointment was canceled last minute. Only for me to receive a call hours before my appointment that it would need to be rescheduled again for the third time. this isn't even half of my experience. the front desk staff isn't very friendly and they surely don't have any clue as to what is even going on in the back. the ONE hygienist was super nice the 2 times i was in there but unfortunately, everything else overshadows her hard work especially when she drives allllll the way from broward/dade just for the overall to be a below mediocre experience.

OMG!!! I LOOOOVE THIS OFFICE! NOTHING BUT FEMALES. You feel the calm aura the second you pull open the door. Our dentist has a VERY personable personality. They have been at this site 10 years, I believe. I was so pleased with them that I wanted to bring them donuts. LOL! They wont oppose it was such a WONDERFULLY positive experience in such a negative situation. Had my tooth pulled...I have NEVER had such a loving, concerned dentist before

Reading all the bad reviews. All i see is complaints of BILLING FRAUD. INSURANCE FRAUD AND PATIENT BILLING FRAUD. Staff is rude and lies about optional services just to charge by saying my insurance doesn't cover it to be able to bill me. When I point it out they have me and my husband wait for our 215 and 315 appointments for 2 hours to just tell us we can't be seen because doctor isn't in and only the one hygienist is there... anyway check your bill and ask about it before you pay as I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Not in your best interest when you have someone come in for a free consultation and make them wait for over 40 minutes and still haven't called them in is not a first good impression....the girl at the front desk is definitely not the welcome wagon!! I guess because I wasn't a paying customer right away I wasn't that important.

This practice was just not for me. They refused to do basic cleaning because I refused to even consider doing a deep cleaning. Then the assistant asked me if wouldn't do treatment if I had a heart attack.... I'm a nurse and this is ridiculous. I came in with no complaints or symptoms. I came in cause I have insurance at the time and wanted to get basic cleaning done. That's what I scheduled for. Probably all just a misunderstanding. But will find a place that will do what I want to do for my teeth which is a basic cleaning.

Thought dental treatment plan was not what I wanted. Too expensive and not needed. Dental Assistant was very good with Xrays to avoid sensitive tori. Dr. Casado showed why I needed the treatment plan and though it doesn't make me happy, I know I need to do it . Dr Casado did 2 crowns 2/1/22 and made it painless and kept Mr posted about his progress . I am glad that I stuck with this practice. Did 3rd crown and 5 small fillings. They were good about working with my finances.

So far they are great, there front desk person she is a joy to talk to you I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes, and I'm now waiting for my full set of uppers and lowers, Coastal Dental lab they've all been very good to me which is very important when you're talking about replacing things in your body

I went to a dentist in December 2021 who told me to keep an eye on a specific tooth and would need a root canal in the future. A month later January 2022 I called an emergency dental hotline, who got me an appointment at coastal dental. I was told a crown would fix it. I paid out of pocket for the crown and I thought everything was fine. A few weeks later in February 2022, I was in the worst pain ever and saw another emergency dentist since I was out of state and the dentist told me I needed the root canal the entire time. So I had to pay for the root canal on top of already paying for the crown. I'm aware coastal dental does not do root canals but I should have been referred out to get one at that time.

This is a great dental office I've been to other dentists before but the staff there is very good there friendly I was referred to them by another client and that client was right about everything she said about them they are awesome
