TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

No matter who they employ, it is always a nightmare. You can't ever get anyone on the phone unless you try multiple times. Every appointment gets rescheduled, usually last minute, or they tell you the wrong time. They've lost my patient file twice. They lost my insurance information at least once. Then when I was getting notices in the mail that I owed for services I had already paid for, they asked me to email over a copy of the receipt. I did that. I continued to get notices so I called again. I was told to ignore them. Now I received a debt collection notice! And the patience assistance line goes to a voicemail box that is full. Do not go here!

I hope you hire better employees, that do not do a bait and switch with patients, and then that same person, the desk manager gets fired. All the while the patient (me) is stuck with a bill, when I was told I was paid in full! Then nobody has any idea where those quotes that she and I discussed were. Just the one before she said she applied a dental plan! The dentist quits, and I tell the company I no longer want to do business with them! I am owed over $1100 for services not rendered! The District Manger never even called me, after they were told what was going on! The only apology I received was from the dentist! I have called corporate for the last 3 months! No response from anyone, and still receive bills for money that I am owed! Beware! They do not care. I went in for one extraction, and the front desk manager, who no longer works there, told me that I had to have that procedure. Told me a lesser amount that day, that I paid in FULL. Came back in, when she no longer worked there and was told I owed an additional 700.00!

The customer service is horrible. I have scheduled 3 appointments that have all been canceled the day before. They cannot keep a dentist. Prior to the pandemic, I loved costal dental. Now I wouldn't refer anyone to coastal dental.

Coast Dental Buckhead is amazing!!! Corey is so very professional nice outgoing just everything you need. The ortho is impeccable. Dee and michele are also wonderful ladies. Overall great experience every time i come.

Made more than one early morning appointment and they were closed twice. I spent $50 in Lyfts to get there and back. Don't waste your time on this unprofessional establishment. I called multiple times and no one answered the phone.

I don't understand how they have patients because they've rescheduled me three times. I hate dental chains because of their inconsistency and high turnover rate of dentists and this chain is no different. The other 2 locations in my vicinity (N Druid Hills and Roswell Rd) also rescheduled me twice. Dental chains suck and they do a subpar job of caring for your teeth. Thank you for rescheduling me AGAIN because I KNEW this would be a poor experience.

Dr.Hadi was excellent but he will leave soon. What was annoying that I had to wait over one month to get my right crown back from you vendor. Your vendor didn't do his job when he/she was supposed to have completed both the crowns last April 2022. So the additional wait time. The other problem was how disorganised you run your clinics and the high turnover of dentists at the Buckhead clinic. Thank you.

How many people do you guys scam in one day? My boyfriend was scheduled for a cleaning today, but turns out the doctor, hygienist, and everyone else was too busy to do that, so you ran a bunch of tests instead, for which you then charged him (even though he asked to check if insurance covered everything). Of course, he paid, but after calling his insurance, they told him that he shouldn't have been charged for anything, and that his insurance should have covered everything. So, what's your deal? Why are you scamming people? Note: Tell them you only want Preventative Care, otherwise they will charge you for a bunch of unnecessary procedures and exams that are NOT mandatory. Don't let them get you.
