TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

I highly recommend COAST Dental on Haynes Bridge Rd. Im not a New Patient anymore, everyone in this office continues to take the time to give me the Best of Dental care. The Office Mgr is both very Professional & very Patient Friendly in taking the time in answering ALL my questions. From the staff, Dr. Shah, the "New" Hygienest Winso ( I apologize for my misspelling of her name ). For me they both are very thorough, and painfree ! I had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Stachell(front office) in Alpharetta, was extremely helpful in finding me an appointment needed for the next day and both her and my dentist addressed my needs and answered all my questions with a kind and professional manner. The other Coast Dental offices I called didn't even bother to call me back. I will definitely recommend Coast Dental Alpharetta to anyone needing dental work..

DON'T GO HERE. This dentist office owes me over $400 since August of 2021. I was told that I had to prepay for services and they would file with my insurance. The problem is that THEY WON'T FILE THE CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE. I've been fighting with them for over a year and can't get reimbursed because they won't file the claim. DON'T TRUST THIS DENTIST. I've been scammed out of hundreds of dollars.

I enjoyed an exceptional dental experience, which included the professionalism of Dr. Shah and her superb staff. This was my first visit to a dentist in Alpharetta, Georgia and I was in search of a dental home as well as assistance with an acute, but not emergency, dental issue. I could not have been more pleased with the entire experience, including timely service, cost and overall atmosphere. I called Coast Dental office this morning 8/23/22 to ask if there were any available appts today @ the Haynes Bridge Rd location. I was scheduled for 3:30pm. I took off work early and arrived on time. After the Dr. assessed my teeth, she said they were preparing my cleaning package, and left. 10 minutes later the woman from the front desk area came in and said she was doing her best to help, because the hygienist was not working today. The Dr. that just left 10 minutes ago is with another patient. I said I was here first, she was just with me. I explained that the Dr. just left and assured me that someone was preparing a cleaning package. And if that is the case why didn't someone tell me when I arrived that I would not receive the cleaning I was promised? I explained to the Dr. that I was going out of town on a cruise and needed to have my teeth cleaned. The woman left; 5 minutes later another employee came in apologizing stating there was no hygienist. I had no choice but to leave. WARNING!!! Very unprofessional!!! I took off work, they held me there over 30 minutes knowing the entire time that I would not receive service!!! Please DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE!!! Barbara Wilson

I am a new patient at Coast Dental and I could not be happier with the service I received. Sandy in particular, is the nicest and most helpful dental assistant I've ever had. Both Sandy and Dr. Shah were incredibly kind and helped with my issues gagging and with sensitive teeth/gums. I found Coast Dental because I had a filling fall out and needed it replaced ASAP. They got me in the next morning and put all my anxiety to rest about seeing a new dentist, my tooth getting fixed, etc. I had a follow up appointment and both were very prompt, perfectly on time, didn't make me wait unnecessarily. I can't recommend Coast Dental enough.

The Coast Dental team was very good to me at my last visit. Dr Shah was so gentle and experienced I hardly knew she was cleaning my teeth. The staff was also very helpful and accommodating during my visit. Highly recommend this office.

I was very pleased with the overall experience, from the thorough exam by the hygienist along with a clear understanding of the treatment plan and cost, as well as the explanation of home care. I have sensitive teeth so anytime I go in for a cleaning I always prepare mentally for discomfort to occur. However, the hygienist took great care in her skill and my discomfort was minimal. From my experience, with setting up an appointment to the final step of checking out, all went smoothly and everyone involved was friendly and professional. Good job Alpharetta Coast Dental.
