Dr. Don Flanagan recognized a need for compassionate, caring dental providers long ago and after opening his very first orthodontic practice in the 1970's has continued to build the Cloudland Dental Family around these principles. Dr. Flanagan's first general dental practice opened in Hixson in 2001 and was quickly followed by other locations. The Cleveland practice was soon to follow the next year and quickly grew out of its office to the current location on Stuart Road. In 2005, the Crossville practice was established. This office has expanded to triple its original size and is still growing. As the Dental Centers continued to grow, an office was added in Chattanooga on Hwy 58 in 2007 & then Sweetwater in 2008.
In 2008, Dr. Flanagan retired from Orthodontics and has focused his attention to the Dental Centers. The Dental Centers, now known as Cloudland Dental is continuing to impact its communities as they practice dentistry and treat your family, like they are our family!
When Dr. Flanagan fully retired in 2019, Cloudland Dental partnered with North American Dental Group. With this partnership, the Cloudland offices continue bringing you the same services and amazing experiences that were cultivated under Dr. Flanagan's ownership. Plus, all of our friendly team members that you know and love are still here to serve you!

I don't understand why you can't have your teeth cleaned on the same day that you get your teeth exam and you know x-rays instead of having come back for another appointment just for your teeth cleaning! Isn't that like another office visit charge? That had to make two appointments for teeth clean..

I absolutely love the staff, everyone was so knowledgeable and so caring. I definitely will use Cloudland Dental on Shallowford road for all my dental needs. I can't emphasize how comfortable and relaxed everyone is and they help you understand the steps to take to get back your beautiful smile.

I took my daughter here to get 2 teeth pulled and I must say they are absolutely amazing. Great staff and they were done before she knew it. I highly recommend them!

The worst dental experience I've ever received for something as minimal as a filling. Dr. Patel caused me extreme pain for a lower filling. I could not chew soft cereal after sitting in milk for minutes. I couldn't even chew gum. The cavity was super shallow and should not have been an issue to fill. She incorrectly filled it (confirmed by another dentist). This caused me extreme pain for months. I saw the office 4 times to try to get this corrected and they did not have a solution but for me to live with the pain. They took multiple x-rays after their mistake and ran up my insurance so the next office I saw had trouble charging my insurance. The dentist that fixed this confirmed the malpractice and helped me file a claim within my insurance. The sad part is - this was months ago and the claim was accepted but cloudland has still not refunded me. The office ladies are super sweet and helpful, but I would never recommend this dentist. If she can't do something as a simple as a filling, I'd hate to see her do more complicated work.

This was my first time there and it wasn't pleasant. I had a great interaction with the receptionist but once hygienist came to get me she barley said 2 words to me. She didn't engage during the cleaning to make sure i was doing okay. She was super rough during the cleaning and portable/handheld xray machine and bruised my gums, she didn't floss my teeth or provide mouthwash . I didn't receive any post exam advise or upkeeping. Didn't even see her again my second half of my visit.

This was my first visit with Dr. Patel and although we had to hold off on two fillings because I had to clarify some insurance issues that weren't of no fault of theirs. My short exposure was very helpful. They went the extra mile and were polite. Hopefully my insurance will get cleared up and & return.

My daughter was having wisdom tooth pain. We don't have dental insurance.Called the health department and they said it might be weeks to see a dentist due to the high call volume. Was referred to Cloudland Dental. They said she could use a promo for 99 dollars. The receptionist stated if there was a need for the wisdom teeth to be removed, she would be referred to an oral surgeon. They told her she needed fillings during the office visit and proceeded to do them without letting her know of the cost involved before the procedure. This wasn't approved and is unacceptable!!!

The office manager is amazing! She is taking time to call the insurance co. to get more info for us! Everyone was very nice and professional. Especially Kayla, our tech. She took time to explain everything, was very patient, and made sure my daughter knew everything that she was going to do during the exam!
