Dr. Clinton Runco & Associates has been providing general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry since 1980. Our office is located in downtown Squirrel Hill, across the street from Taylor Allderdice High School. We welcome patients from Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, Greenfield, Oakland, and beyond. Many of our patients are multiple generations in families, while others are referrals from our loyal patient base.
Dr. Runco graduated from the Pittsburgh University Dental School in May of 1980. At that time, he opened a family related general practice in Squirrel Hill. He has been in this location for over 38 years. He has been active in volunteer work for his church and with various youth athletic groups. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Dental Association of Southwest Pennsylvania.
Dr. Hartstein received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, with honors, from the University of Pittsburgh. He attained his Dental training and Degree from the Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia in 1981. Having practiced dentistry for over 37 years, Dr. Harstein continues to believe that taking the necessary time and attention to detail are essential to getting things right.
Dr. Hartstein is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and The Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania. Since 1998, he has also been a member of the Pittsburgh East Suburban Study Club, an affiliate of the internationally renowned Seattle Study Club.

Pressured me into a crown I did not want on a tooth for aesthetic reasons, when asked for more numbing injection he got mad at me and ignored me crying, messed it up so bad the PERMANENT crown fell off after literally 2 weeks and a year later other dentists are still struggling to fix it. Should not be allowed to practice dentistry.

I will rate Zero star if Google allows me. Stay away from this unskilled, unethical dentist. I went to do simple filling. It was done in less than five minutes and he used the cheapest black material. Even worse, his careless operation damaged my teeth and I had to do root canal treatment. I confirmed with two dentists at UMPC Dental School, it was very clear he made it, but he didn't admit it. I should sue you.

I wish I read Carlie Singers review before scheduling my appointment. The so called dentist Runco spent about 3 minutes cleaning my teeth. It was quicker than I spend flossing and brushing. I'm certain it did nothing for my dental health. I complained to the dentist and he said if I don't like it go somewhere else. That's the advice I would give to anyone considering making an appointment with this guy. He is incompetent and should not be practicing. He's a threat to your dental health.

I hate to leave a horrible review because this office employs people and this dentist is a human being, but this is not somewhere you want to go to take care of your teeth. I did more brushing my own teeth this morning than was done for me during my cleaning today. Just don't.

I've always had a fear instilled in me of going to the dentist. I had a cavity that was bothering me for months now so I decided to go ahead and book an appointment with Dr. Aznavour since his practice was close by. He took care of my cavity without any problems that I felt nothing! He also has a terrific bedside manner and is extremely knowledgeable in what he does. Highly recommend!

Great doctor! I like that he's conveniently located in Squirrel Hill, takes his time and has hygienists who speak English working for him (my former dentist in Virginia did not and it was irritating). I'll happily be a patient until he retires and highly recommend him!

I've always had a fear instilled in me of going to the dentist. I had a cavity that was bothering me for months now so I decided to go ahead and book an appointment with Dr. Aznavour since his practice was close by. He took care of my cavity without any problems that I felt nothing! He also has a terrific bedside manner and is extremely knowledgeable in what he does. Highly recommend!

I had a crown put on my front tooth to "improve my smile" since one of my front teeth was discolored. The crown fell out while I was talking with a friend three months later after absolutely no trauma. I went to Dr. Runco to have it repaired and he put the crown back in, in the wrong position, in front of all of my other teeth, and cemented the crown to the two teeth next to it "so it wouldn't fall out." It looks and feels terrible. It is now less than one week later and it is wiggling and flapping when I speak and I cannot bite down on it. I deeply regret having trusted Dr. Runco; the work he did is beyond sub-par. Edit: It is now 7 months after my botched front crown. Runco will not return my phone calls and I'm going to be $4000 out of pocket to get an implant in the place of my destroyed from tooth. I lost the tooth and had to have a bone and tissue graft today on what should have been a cosmetic procedure. It has been a sea of anxiety and debt. Do not allow this dentist inside your mouth!

Why would you reject treating a kid if you already gave an appointment knowing that the patient is a kid? Dr. Clinton stopped the procedure without providing any explanation to us as soon as my kid started to get scared. What do you expect a kid to react to a dental operation, such as filling? But just out of fairness, an old receptionist lady helped us find another dentist for her. Thanks to her! Other than that, Dr. Clinton wasted my and my daughter's time. That is all! I don't recommend this place to anybody.

When I arrived the office had no record of my appointment and asked me to reschedule. The subsequent visit went well enough. The oral hygienist was pleasant, if not particularly thorough. Dr. Runco stopped by and said hello for a few minutes. I received the bill for this visit four months later; my dental insurance had not been billed. This morning I arrived ten minutes early for my 10:30 am appointment. The receptionist informed me that my appointment had been at 10 AM. I showed her the confirmation text messages I had received from the office confirming my 10:30 am appointment. She shrugged, and stated that the office would have to reschedule me. I will reschedule, but with another office who knows how to make and keep appointments.

They are great! I love the staff and they have a policy that if it is not bothering you, they do not try to fix it. My husband was told he needs his wisdom teeth out, but then we went here and they said he does not. They do not bother him, so thank goodness we saved on the time and energy on that one!
