Dr. John McRoberts joined Clemson Family Dentistry in July of 2000. As a local, he graduated from Seneca High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Kelly. He attained a Bachelor Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, graduating Summa Cum Laude from The College of Charleston. He then attained a Doctor of Dental Medicine from The Medical University of South Carolina. Upon graduation, he was anxious to return to his Roots in the Upstate South Carolina, where he has been practicing for many years

Dr. McRoberts enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly and their children, AJ and Peyton. They have enjoyed spending time on the lakes in the area and traveling around the country- Dr. Mac is trying to see a MLB game at each of the stadiums with his son (only 5 more to go!). He is active in his church, just rotating off a deacon rotation. He has been serving on the finance committee, youth committee, and serves as one of the middle school teachers on Sundays. He and his wife love the South Carolina State Dance- the shag, and enjoy cutting the rug as a member in the Oconee Assembly.

Dr. McRoberts is a big supporter of youth activities in our area. As a magic enthusiast, he gives many A little magic, a little teeth lectures to preschools and elementary schools around the areas. Feel free to contact the office to schedule one for your school. He has supported local YMCA teams, local Rec team sports, Blue Ridge Golf programs, Middle and High School teams from surrounding schools, knowing that these participants are tomorrows leaders. He also enjoys supporting Collins Family Ministries and the Boy Scouts (Dr. Mac is an Eagle Scout!)

Dr. McRoberts is a huge Clemson supporter and attends many of the different sporting events with his family and friends. You will always see him wearing orange on Thursdays at the office to show his Tiger Pride. He has been the official Clemson Tiger Dentist for the last several years, helping out with students, trainers, coaches, etc. when the need arises. He also works very close to the Biology and Health Science Depts., bringing students in on a regular basis for shadowing opportunities He is a Preceptor for Interns in the Health Science Department and one of the teachers in the Predental Class of the Biology curriculum.

Professionally, he has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Oral Medicine, the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and Tri-County Dental Society where he has served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and President. He has been on the advisory board of the dental assisting program at Tri County Technical College for the last dozen years. He and his team stay above and beyond that which is required for continuing education in order to provide their patients with the most up-to-date care in general dentistry. Dr. McRoberts looks forward to working with you to achieve the smile and oral health you desire in the most friendly and conservative way possible. By the way, he loves a good joke when youre visiting.

Dr. Emily Ewoldt is a Clemson native, having lived in downtown Clemson since she was 3 years old. She grew up attending Morrison/Clemson Elementary School, R.C. Edwards Middle School, and she is a graduate of D.W. Daniel High School.

Emily graduated from Clemson University and the Calhoun Honors College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Science. During her senior year of college, she interned with Clemson Family Dentistry, and it was because of Dr. McRoberts, Dr. Gustafson, and the team at CFD that she fell in love with dentistry.

Emily completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is an avid supporter of organized dentistry and served as President of the American Student Dental Association during dental school, the student governing body of the College of Dental Medicine. Through this, she was honored as the 2016 District 4 Delegate of the Year and Excellence in Leadership in 2017. Both of these distinctions honor one student among the over 500 dental students in our region for leadership and dedication to dentistry.

In dental school, Emily was an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Association of Women Dentists, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity, and the American Academy of Public Health Dentistry. In addition, she has spent several weeks in Ecuador and Peru serving on dental mission trips through a ministry at MUSC called Dental Community Fellowship.

Emily married her husband, Nathan, in June of 2020 and welcomed their daughter, Charlotte, in March 2022. They, along with Emily's family, reside in Clemson. She is active in the Rotary Club of Clemson, the Tri-County Dental Society, South Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. In her free time, Emily and her family like to attend any and all Clemson sporting events, take their dogs to the lake, and go hiking - anything outdoors. Having lived in Charleston for 4 years, she enjoys trying new foods and restaurants - a self-proclaimed taste tester if you will!

Emily sincerely believes that there is something intangible about Clemson - the people, the landscape, the community. It is the cornerstone of who she is, and she is excited to give back to the place that raised her. She is committed to providing quality, personalized care with kindness, sincerity, and trust.

In dental school, Nathan served as Vice President of the American Student Dental Association and was an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry and Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. He also spent several weeks in Ecuador and Peru serving on dental mission trips through a ministry at MUSC called Dental Community Fellowship.

Following dental school, Nathan completed a General Practice Residency at Prisma Health Hospital where he was selected as Chief Resident. This residency focused on dental implant surgery, medically complex dentistry, and extractions, in addition to advanced general dentistry procedures.

He is active the Tri-County Dental Society, South Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. In his free time, Nathan and his family like to attend Clemson sporting events, go swimming, and spend time with their dogs. He loves the outdoors - yet another reason he loves this area.

I had the amazing opportunity to intern at Clemson Family Dentistry this semester, completing over 200 hours! With that being said, I cannot speak highly enough of this office and the staff. Dr. McRoberts and Dr. Ewoldt are absolutely incredible at what they do and I have been nothing but impressed with their quality of care. They make each patient feel comfortable and their bed-side manner is unmatched. Dr. McRoberts does an amazing job of giving easy-to-understand explanations and partnering with the patient to create a treatment plan that meets all of their needs. He is full of energy, happiness, and a genuine passion for what he does. There was never a day that he wasn't full of joy, always making patients laugh, and doing fantastic dental work at the same time. The office as a whole is such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It truly is a family when you are a part of Clemson Family Dentistry. Every patient is treated with kindness, the utmost respect, and is always accommodated. Over the past five months, I have been supported and encouraged by the staff in everything I do. They are kind, considerate, professional, and, most of all, they are genuine. Additionally, the quality of services provided by Clemson Family Dentistry are phenomenal. After watching hundreds of procedures, I can personally say that these dentists expect outstanding work of themselves and they do not settle for anything less. The dentists and staff at Clemson Family Dentistry are wonderful and I can only hope that my future as a dentist will be in an environment with people exactly like them. I highly recommend this practice to everyone!!!!!

If I could give no stars I would. When initially booking my appointment, I told the receptionist that I had my insurance number and the group it was with and asked if I could give her the information while we were on the phone. She abruptly dismissed me and told me no I'll just take in when you get here. I waited a month for a new patient appointment, to show up and her look at my information and say I need to know the address of your insurance because there's like 5 other ones. The month prior she told me all she needed my ID as a receptionist she could have just made a call seeing as its kind of her job to bill with insurance. She clearly didn't want to help me and if the office staff is that big of a joke I'm assuming the competence of the dentist themselves is probably lacking as well. Thanks for wasting a month of my time.
