Lori has been a member of our team since 2002. In her front office position, her responsibility involves managing all the private insurance issues. One of Loris favorite things is to help our patients get the dental treatment they want and need by showing each one of them their financial options. It is her goal to make sure our patients achieve the smile and dental health they desire she is here to help with everyones questions!
Lori has attended several continuing education courses and still does so on a regular basis. She is also certified in CPR/AED and fluent in Portuguese. In her spare time, she loves to spend quality time with her husband, children, and family.
Rachel graduated from a local Dental Assisting program and has been a chairside dental assistant at our dental office since 2005. She was certified in Radiology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She also holds certifications in CPR/AED and continues to expand her knowledge in the dental field by completing continuing education courses. She is also working toward becoming a Certified Dental Assistant. She performs various jobs at the dental office, including assisting our dentists with numerous procedures, sterilization, digital X-rays, ordering supplies, assisting at the front desk, and providing whitening services.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and her close friends. An avid animal lover, she has expanded her family with two dogs! She also loves camping, traveling, and exploring new things.
Sandra became a dental assistant in 2004 after completing a New England Dental Assisting program. She has worked at this office since 2010 with her twin sister Rachel. She is certified in Radiology and CPR and attends continuing education classes on a regular basis. Her job consists of assisting the doctor, sterilizing instruments, working in the lab, and helping the hygienists.
Sandra grew up in Fairhaven and now lives in New Bedford. She enjoys her career and working with patients. In her free time, she likes going for walks, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.
Michele attends dental education courses and is interested in learning everything she can to help our patients. She received her Dental Assisting License in January of 2015 and is certified in CPR. She loves spending time with family and friends outside of work.
Brittanie has been a registered dental hygienist since May of 2017. She began working for our office in November of 2017. In addition to having her dental hygiene license, she is licensed in the administration of local anesthesia and has her CPR certification too.
Brittanie graduated from the Community College of Rhode Island and plans to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and the outdoors.
As the most recent addition to our team, Morgan is excited to interact with our patients and skilled team members here at Clear Coast Dental. Every day, she looks forward to helping our patients and connecting with them. Before joining us, she worked as a dental assistant for 4 years. She is a registered dental hygienist, has certifications in CPR and is licensed in the administration of local anesthesia. She received her Bachelor degree in Dental Hygiene from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in May 2021.

After studying at New York University, Dr. Akbar completed her dental doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh. She also underwent an AEGD residency, honing her skills in all aspects of dentistry with the main focuses being restorative, preventive, and cosmetic care. Today, she is a Certified Invisalign Provider and has completed advanced training in teaching/education as well.
Dr. Akbar feels proud every day to empower her patients by teaching them how they can take full control of their oral health! Not only does she help them achieve a beautiful, healthy smile, but she gives them the tools and insight needed to maintain it over time. Dr. Akbar comes from a big family as the youngest of four kids. Her dad is a hard-working ENT physician she definitely gets her work ethic and ambition from both parents! She also has four nieces and nephews. When she isnt busy at work, her favorite hobbies include working out, doing yoga, traveling, enjoying nature in local parks and other cities, watching stand-up comedy, exploring Boston with friends, and practicing photography.
Dr. Akbar is also passionate about volunteer work. So far, shes participated in five service trips, visiting Portugal, Thailand, Lebanon, Jamaica, and Texas. During these trips, she has built homes with Habitat for Humanity, taught children at local schools, prepared food for homeless youth, taught English to teens in refuge camps, renovating homes devasted by hurricanes, and provided vital dental services. She hopes in the future to do more good work for those in need!
Dr. Herr attended Ohio State University for his undergraduate education, completing his Bachelors in Microbiology. He then chose to enroll in the University of Marylands School of Dentistry, where he achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery.
By demonstrating a clear commitment to the profession and impressive clinical excellence, Dr. Herr earned a valuable opportunity to participate in a year-long clerkship in implant prosthodontics and oral surgery. He also attended the Veteran Administrations Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program, where he provided crucial services to male and female veterans who had complex medical histories. During this time, he received specialty training in virtually all aspects of oral health, with specific focuses on endodontic treatment, dental implants, oral surgery, and periodontal surgery.
After finishing his formal education, Dr. Herr has gone on to attend hundreds of hours in various continuing education courses. He is passionate about staying as up-to-date with new developments in dentistry as possible. He is currently involved with the Academy of General Dentistry (as an appointed Delegate and the Massachusetts Vice President) and the Massachusetts Dental Societys Leadership Institute.
When he isnt busy at work, Dr. Herr enjoys spending lots of quality time with his family and friends. He also likes to travel and regularly roots for the Ohio State University football team. Go Bucks!
