Classic Smiles is a great dental office. Dr. Nowysz is knowledgeable, methodical, and willing to educate patients on the hows and whys of what she is doing. The entire staff is exceptionally nice, and they will even give you a call if there is a chance to see them earlier. Like many people, I do not love going to the dentist, but Classic Smiles makes it a nice experience.
I love this place! Dr. Nowysz works quickly and competently, keeping me informed of what she is doing and my choices in care while letting me know what she feels is best. I have had no problems whatsoever with the work she has done, although she has had to replace/repair a lot of old dental work by other dentists. I always feel comfortable with her caring and professional manner. The office is very pleasant. The office staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient.
Best of all, she's AMAZING with children. My 2-year-old loved her. She did everything perfectly and said just the right things to get my kid to cooperate and even have fun! It was incredible to see; Im still in shock.
Good dentist, she redid some bridgework another dentist had done, helped me correct a bad habit with over-aggressive brushing that was causing damage to gums and has been my dentist for years now. Highly recommended.

Before taking on Classic Smiles back in 1998, Stephanie worked as a dentist at the Iowa Department of Corrections. She enjoys serving the students and families of the Iowa City area and loves that she can provide general dental care in such a convenient location.
Dr. Stephanie Nowysz is a member of the American Dental Association, and at one point, held the title of president of the Johnson County Dental Society. As a supporter of the Iowa City Free Medical/Dental Clinic, she is passionate about offering dental care to underserved populations. These include at-risk children and young adults, as well as developmentally disabled children and young adults. She has also donated used equipment to the University of Louisiana after hurricane Katrina struck to provide emergency dental care to victims.
The inspiration behind what Dr. Nowysz does is her father, who immigrated from Poland and encouraged her to follow her dreams. Because of this, she has visited Polish dental academies with plans to return. She has also done outreach in Guatemala, Colorado, Illinois, and Las Vegas; she intends on continuing her dental mission in the future.
Family is everything to Dr. Stephanie Nowysz. She and her husband Mike, the owner of 2 Ol Boys Lawn/Snow maintenance, live in Iowa City. They enjoy spending time with their daughters and families (especially their grandkids!) Cooking, sewing, RVing, motorcycle riding, scuba diving, and education are all Dr. Nowyszs passions.

Classic smiles has changed our lives forever!! We started our dental journey somewhere else, and Stephanie Nowysz DDS was able to fix my husbands botched services. We are forever grateful for the quality workmanship that was given to us. Dr Steph was so great and we would recommend her to anyone!!

Dr. Nowysz and her team are welcoming, professional and strive to make sure you're comfortable in the chair. The atmosphere is homey and relaxing. I also really appreciated how she took the time to educate me on what was happening with my teeth. And I actually enjoyed my recent appointment to have two fillings done. No kidding! I feel so grateful that we have a dentist like her in Iowa City.

Last fall, when my son had a serious after-hours emergency, she opened up her clinic to see us and managed to save his front tooth as a result. Me and my boys have been coming here for over a decade. I love how they stay up to date with technology but still can make it feel like a nice, clean, and welcoming place. My boys loved having their photos updated every year and getting to hang it on their special board. They have never been scared of going to the dentist and actually enjoy getting their teeth cleaned twice a year. They know they have beautiful smiles thanks to Dr. Stephanie and her great hygienists. They have a great location and I've never had issues parking in their lot even though they are so close to downtown. I can't recommend this place enough!

I was calling to get an appointment as a new patient. While I was on the phone with Gail, she helped me find a time that worked, however I think she got frustrated after going back and fourth with times.. during the call her coworker asked her a question and she replied to them while still on the phone with me (even with me speaking). After 2-3 sentences later of them conversating, she returned and said "I'm sorry, what did you say?". I thought it was extremely disrespectful and quite rude.

I love this place. I had a toothache and was from out of town, and they did everything they could to make my visit as easy as possible. I love this place. I had a toothache and was from out of town, and they did everything they could to make my visit as easy as possible. Everyone is a delight, the atmosphere is relaxed, the facilities are clean and organized, and they know your name. Definitely recommend to anyone in the Iowa City area.
