Dr. Ernest J. DeWald is active in Clarksville and the dental community, holding offices in local, state and national organizations. His community activities include volunteering for Hospice and Good Samaritan Ministries Dental Clinic. He is a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club and Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church serving as Elder and Sunday School Teacher.
He retired as a Colonel with over 21 years in the Army Dental Corps, the last 7 years as a director of both one and two year general dentistry residency programs. He is a Fellow and Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, and a diplomat and Board Member of the American Board of General Dentistry.
Dr. E. Mac Edington is active in the national dental community and is a Past President of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the 2nd largest dental organization in the world. He is a Fellow and Master of the AGD and a Founder and Past President of the American Board of General Dentistry.
His activities include Clarksville Rotary and University of Tennessee College of Dentistry Alumni Board. He is also a Past President of the University of Tennessee Dental Alumni Association and was recognized as the 2005 College of Dentistry outstanding alumnus. He retired as a Colonel with over 30 years in the Army Dental Corps the last 14 as Dental Commander and Dental Surgeon. In 2006 Dr. Edington was nominated for Ambassador of the Year with the Better Business Bureau.
Dr. Taylor is originally from Clarksville, TN. She completed her undergraduate at APSU and went on to dental school at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. Upon graduation from UT, she completed a one-year general practice residency at MAHEC in Asheville, NC.
Dr. Taylor has been the recipient of the Harold Cloogman Award for Excellence in Dental Research in both 2009 and 2010. She was also the recipient of the American Association of Women Dentists Colgate Research Scholarship Award in May 2011.
Dr. Cox enjoys the dynamic qualities of dentistry and how technology in the dental field continues to evolve. This, in turn, allows patients to receive the highest quality of care promptly and with less pain.
A native of Gallatin, TN, Dr. John Craig graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to earn a Masters degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Georgia State University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Meharry Medical College.
While in dental school, he was nominated and elected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and was awarded the outstanding student leader award by the Tennessee section of the American College of Dentists.

Dr. Lee and staff were great. My smile is 100 % better than what I hoped for. Highly recommend Clarksville Dental Center for all dental needs.

I hadn't seen a dentist in several years due to anxiety and a lack of insurance. A front tooth had a large peice fall off and they got me in that day. The new patient paperwork and wait wss short, on time. I was so scared going to the chair but both the assistant and Dr Tom were very kind and listened to all my concerns, answered my questions. They were light hearted and very non-judgemental. Was able to get a filling to fix my tooth and all my exams done in only 2 hours. Never did anything without letting me know what they were doing to ease my anxiety. I have a lot of work to do and never once did they shame me about it or make me uncomfortable. I will definitely be going back once I am ready to tackle the rest of my issues. They helped me develop a plan and educated me on how to manage things until all work is completed. Very helpful, non-judgemental, and pleasant people. Thank you for the kindness!

I had great service but I am very dissatisfied with the way the billing was handled. The billing department was amazing figuring the issue. The front needs to be more diligent in what they tell the customer verses what is really occurring.

I've never had any issues with the staff specifically unfortunately the work that is performed is why I am giving a 1 star. Ever since I have had my cavities filled, I've had nothing but issues. I can no longer eat comfortably. One side of my mouth is extremely sensitive to hot, cold and hard foods the other side is sensitive to all foods. Its so frustrating to constantly feel some type of pain when eating. So frustrating that I'm looking into getting something more permanent done to my teeth. Every single time I leave this place something else is wrong and its worse than before . I've probably seen every dentist here. This has been my dentist since I was a child. I didnt want to go somewhere else because I didnt want someone working on what they had already started but I cant take it no more, its beginning to effect me emotionally and be so unbearable.

Dr. Kevin Cox!! I don't even know where to start! This dentist is heaven sent. I had to have some dentist work done as well as extractions and he made sure to make it an urgent matter to get me taken care of due to the infection. He's so gentle and extremely kind. Through my extraction process, he informed me on everything he was doing and I could barely feel a thing. Overtime we do have fear from bad experiences or even reading bad reviews. But I can guarantee you that you are extremely safe in his hands. Thanks Dr Cox.

I went here because I was having swelling and pain in my gums, making it difficult to eat. This is not my regular dentist but they are open on weekends. After a few x-rays and 1.5hrs later, I was told what was wrong and given a worksheet explaining how much my insurance pays and how much I needed to pay. Of course this was 3 future appointments. This was all with me still sitting in the exam chair. When I explained that I am a nurse and I needed weekend appointments, I was told their booked up and I was placed on the wait list. Still in pain and gums still swollen. The doctors I work for would not send a patient away without some instructions or suggestions to help them. It surely would have been given before a estimate of future payments was given.

They have the best staff and Dr. Dewald is the best dentist in town. They make your experience awesome. I usually see Lucy or Peggy for my cleanings and they are absolutely the best. The staff is just awesome and the experience is too. I have been going here for almost 5 years and now most of my family does even extended family. Thank you all there .

I recommend Clarksville Dental Center! I have been going there for several years. I moved across town and still make the trip! One time I had my days mixed up and showed up after they were done with patients during Covid and they still saw me! Highly recommend

Went in yesterday for a new patient exam. I have a tooth that was extremely painful and the dental assistant asked if I was red to just focus on that one tooth since I was on so much pain. She took the X-ray and that's when I met Dr. DeWald!! He took the time to explain what was going on and explained what the X-ray showed in detail. He said that the tooth wasn't able to be saved and that we needed to pull it immediately due to infection trying to start. He could see how nervous I was. He comforted me and explained everything to expect. He was super gentle(as Gentle as possible since he was in fact pulling a tooth) and talked to me the whole way through. The office staff was so friendly and informative before and after. Yea, I had to wait a little after my appointment time but it was worth it. Everyone is so kind! I definitely recommend them and they have a patient for as long as I'm here! Thanks y'all for being so incredibly nice!

If you enjoy waiting past your scheduled appointment time to see a revolving door of dentists make your appointment today! If you like lackluster customer service and inept billing staff, this is the place for you! There will now be several spots available on their panel as my family and I have reached our capacity for tolerating their mediocrity.
