Dr. Manisha Grover has always been passionate about two things: art and dentistry. From an early age, she practiced in various mediums from charcoal sketches to ceramic work, honing her skills to improve the finer details of her work. Towards the end of her high school career, she shared her interest in pursuing a career in the arts with her pediatric dentist during a routine visit. He invited her to come spend some time in the clinic, because if she was a good student and enjoyed working with her hands, she may want to consider a career in dentistry. She spent that summer volunteering at the practice, and it solidified her interest in becoming a dentist. By the age of 17, she was one of just three candidates accepted to VCUs School of Dentistry in the prestigious eight year guaranteed dental program.
She began dental school in 2009, where she had the opportunity to explore numerous philanthropic and research opportunities. Dr. Grover volunteered with the Missions of Mercy program, providing free dental care to underserved communities in rural parts of Virginia. During the last 2 years of dental school, she conducted research with the Periodontics program and helped publish studies on specific pathogenic bacteria and their role in triggering inflammatory proteins in gingival tissue. This helped cultivate her practice philosophy with a focus on prevention, which follows the same philosophy of Clarendon Dental Arts.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Grover moved to Manhattan to complete her residency with the New York Medical College at Metropolitan Hospital. During her residency, she met her husband and settled with him in Brooklyn, where she practiced for 3 years.
In 2016, Dr. Grover and her husband, a native Arlingtonian, relocated to DC to be closer to family. Since then, she has practiced in the northern Virginia area until ultimately finding her dream practice in Clarendon Dental Arts.
In her free time, Dr. Grover likes to stay active. She continues to practice her art skills with her latest project being a mural in her sons nursery of Le Petit Prince. You may catch her trying a new restaurant with her friends, exploring a bike trail with her husband, or spending time in her garden.
