My goal, and that of my team, is to help each patient establish a healthy mouth and improved overall wellness. In order to achieve that, we must first build a trusting rapport with our patient, so he or she understands we care and have the persons best interests at heart.
We spend a lot of time talking with and listening to patients, learning about their lives, interests, and families. These conversations foster a bond which is strengthened through the respect and compassion we consistently display.
When our patients feel safe in our care, they are open to following our guidance on the changes they can make to improve their oral and bodily health. Seeing people transform their lives and take control of their health along with achieving a great smile is a rewarding experience!
I have been practicing dentistry since 2000, and during that time there have been changes in the diagnostic approach, as well as the actual treatments and processes. At the same time, I have learned that the latest does not always mean the greatest.
These professional groups offer a range of educational opportunities, including meetings, seminars, lectures, and various publications. I take advantage of numerous courses throughout the year and feel confident I am providing my patients with the best modern dentistry offers.
I grew up in Californias Orange County and now live with my family in North Scottsdale. When Im not seeing patients, I prioritize time with my wife, daughter, and our family dog. We enjoy traveling, watching movies, and activities with our church. I also like to golf, attend sporting events, and follow USC Football.
I love doing a service for my patients, as well as getting to know them and building long-term relationships. It is always nice to make a patient feel good about being at the dentist: Its rewarding to make someone happy about having clean teeth and educating them about the importance of it! I offer thorough, gentle dental cleanings. While Im with each patient, I provide education about home dental hygiene and reinforce Dr. Johs recommendations.
Im a South Dakota native who recently arrived in Arizona. I have three children Wyatt, Sydney, and Chipper and a dog named Farrah. I love the Arizona weather and am enjoying being outdoors every day. I also enjoy being with my family as much as I can!

I came in for a dental cleaning as a new patient. After my x-rays the Dr. explained dental work he felt I should consider. I said thank you, I will think about it. I came in for a cleaning and wanted to see if the office was one I would come back to based on my experience. Dr. spent considerable time discussing a quote of nearly $10K from extra cleanings to Invisalign. l said I would check with my previous dentist (who I have known since I was 3 years old) to make a decision. He continued to "sell me" and when he was done he told me to meet him at the front desk. I asked, what about my cleaning? He said I would not be getting a cleaning unless I agreed to his recommendations. I said, are you declining to clean my teeth? He said, I am not declining you are - which became a back and forth of who was declining what. I needed my teeth cleaned, he wasted my time. I have never had such an experience with a provider, very disappointing.

Dr. Joh saw me, a new patient, for an emergency appointment within hours after I called him. He and his assistant went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, informed, and pain free. As a doctor myself, I can not overstate how refreshing this was. Usually when I go to a doctor's office, I find myself disturbed by the lack of consciousness and professionalism. Dr. Joh is a breath of fresh air in a healthcare system that has truly gone to the dogs for some years now. He's a great dentist, as well as a good man.

I had a crown crack, they were able to get me in right away to fix it. Dr. Joh did a fantastic job. Very attentive to detail, always making sure I was comfortable, and did a spectacular job. Very much appreciate the team over there!

My entire family goes to this dentistry (grandparents, parents, & siblings). The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. Best dental care I've ever received. Even when I moved out of the city I would make the drive there.

Loved CJ Dentistry! I was first met by the receptionist, Chris. He was friendly, funny, and took the time to chat with me while I waited. Then Amy brought me back and was equally as friendly and made me feel right at home during my xrays. Then Dr. Joh came in and went through my xrays with me, explaining every little thing and answering all of my questions. There was a dark spot near my filling that Mitchell Dental (Central Scottsdale) had given me, and he explained that it was important to get it re-filled because it could be a cavity or an air pocket. But he was very professional, and I never felt pressured to get dental work like I did at Mitchell. I scheduled a cleaning and the fillings for the following week. Chris also came in and talked to me about Invisalign, and how my deep bite could cause problems later. He'd had Invisalign, so he was great about answering all of my questions. When I went back, the staff were just as friendly as they had been the first time. My husband had an appointment right before I did, and they explained to both of us all the work he needed to get done. My husband appreciated how non-judgemental they were, while also being so straightforward and kind. My fillings were done with ease. Upon drilling, Dr. Joh immediately could see that the dark spot was because Mitchell Dental hadn't secured my filling properly, and there was a bunch of air. He made sure I was comfortable and let me know what he was doing the entire time. He finished up and did my cleaning. Most of the time, you never see your dentist except for when they look over your xrays, but I was really impressed that Dr. Joh had taken the time to clean. Once he'd cleaned, Amy finished up with polish and a flouride, and I was done! Overall, very impressed with all the staff at CJ. Everyone was kind and professional. I've never had a dentist take the time to go through xrays in as much detail as Dr. Joh had, and it gave me a lot of confidence in them. 100% recommend!

My wife and I along with our three adult children all go to CJ Dentistry. The entire staff is very courteous and professional. Dr. Joh is always willing to make the necessary accommodations to provide me with a first rate experience as I have a medical condition that can make my dental visits difficult to endure. His examinations are thorough and he does an excellent job of explaining any issues that may arise and provides straight forward recommendations. I HIGHLY recommend CJ Dentistry to anyone looking for great customer service and a more personal experience.

I have been a patient with Dr. Joh for a few months. My first visit was a cleaning. My second visit was for bridge work and my third visit was the fitting of the bridge. Dr. Joh was the best. He was very kind and gentle and he and all of his staff are wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Joh and his staff.
