Dr. Khaled Alwan graduated from NYU dental school with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1991. In 1992, he earned his General Dental Residency Degree at Saint Joseph Hospital in Patterson, New Jersey. From the beginnings of his career in New York City to his first private practice in Prospect Park, New Jersey to his current role at CITIDental Rancho, Dr. Alwan has been helping countless of patients improve their smiles. He considers the friendships and relationships hes built with patients to be his greatest achievements.
Dr. Alwans son Danny is currently in dental school, following in his parents footsteps. When asked by the Board of Education about a time where he saw how improving oral care can be a benefit to the community, he cited the work that his parents did in elevating their patients quality of life. Dr. Alwan is proud to live by the ideals of service and community-building each and every day.
Olga Sharikova has been at our office since 1999. She moved to the United States from Russia where she is a licensed Dentist. After working with us as a registered dental assistant Olga became a licensed Dental Hygienist in 2013. On her days off, Olga enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and her cat.
Amanda settled in San Diego in 1990 having lived in Texas, Alabama and Colorado. She started working in the dental field in 1998 as a dental clerk before becoming a dental assistant and the office manager. Amanda then decided to become a Hygienist. In 2015 she graduated from Concorde Career College accelerated program with highest honors and also received Colgate State Total Achievement award for leadership. At home Amanda is a proud mom to two beautiful daughters and 3 dogs. Amandas love for the dental field and patients come across with her compassionate, gentle care she provides.
Stephanie Bischel has been affiliated with this dental practice for 25 years and continues to offer compassionate care to patients in her role as office manager. She is a native San Diegan, raised in Clairemont. On your next visit, you may find her Bernese Mountain dog, Harris, lounging outside her office door. Stephanie cares as much about the patients as she does about her associates.
Bonnie works front office at CitiDental Rancho. She has been in the dental field for 25 plus years starting as an assistant and moving upfront. Having worked in this office since 2009 - it is her second home. She loves working with our team here and making sure our patients are educated and satisfied.
Julie has worked administration in this dental office for 19 years and is highly knowledgeable in dental insurance benefits. In 2013, she decided to increase her knowledge and skills by becoming a registered dental assistant and she just recently completed her Bachelors of Science.
Amy has been with us since 2008. She is one of our treasured dental assistants that treats every patient as though they are family. She was born and raised in the Philippines but has been in the San Diego since 1984. When Amy is not working she can be found spending time with her several grandchildren.
Lanicia is a San Diego native having been born and raised here. In January 2010, she graduated from UEI as a dental assistant. Lanicia is married and has 3 kids and their fur baby Nala (cat). Their oldest two children are gifted athletes and their family often travels for their sports. In 2017 they traveled to Boise, Idaho where their daughter won nationals in softball representing San Diego. In her free time, Lanicia loves to try any kind of food and new restaurants, going to Padre games, crafting or relaxing at home.
Mario was born and raised in San Diego; he graduated from Grossmont Health Occupations Center as a dental assistant in 2016. He has a young daughter and a pit bull named Nala. On his free time Mario enjoys exercising, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.
Reylina has been with us since she graduated in 2019 as a dental assistant. Rey was born in Florida and raised in San Diego. She is a mom to a beautiful Shepsky named Mamba. Rey spends all her time with her nieces and nephew. Rey is an exceptional softball player and now enjoys coaching others.
Harris is our four-legged friend and one of the most indispensable members of our team. He is constantly serving as our motivational leader in going above and beyond to deliver an excellent dental care experience for patients. You can always find him working with our team at CITIDental Rancho!

CITIDental Rancho San Diego is a very professional and cost-effective dental practice with a very friendly atmosphere. Never have seen patients in such good moods after many difficult procedures. My whole family loves this dental team. The best choice for dental work in the San Diego area.

Very unprofessional and not clean. Tools that fell on the ground were put in my mouth without any cleaning or disinfecting. The dentist's gloves smelled really bad like they haven't been changed in between patients and I'm hoping that I don't get any infections. The people were all very nice but I won't be returning.

Dr Kashou is my dentist and I trust him implicitly. He treats me with respect and kindness asking me occasionally if I'm ok and if I need a break during procedures. He also has a sense of humor which makes our patient/doctor relationship comfortable and pleasant. His assistants are wonderful. Mario and Nini and Nora are tops! I am happy with CitiDental and will continue to see them when needed.

I highly recommend this dental practice. On every visit, Julie and Bonnie greet me with personalized attention as if we are old friends. I am always seen for my visit right away with very little wait. I never feel that they are trying to up-sell me on unnecessary services. On my most recent visit, I was having a crown replaced. As with my regular check-ups, I was seen right away and seated by Dental Assistant Mario Diaz. He was very attentive and explained every step of the procedure. Once he was set up and ready to go, Dr. Kashou came in to start the procedure. He also explained every step, made sure that I was comfortable, and started the work. The crown was able to be designed and milled in-house, which allowed me to complete this work in just one appointment. From my interaction with the front desk to the time that they cemented the crown and sent me on my way, I was very comfortable. I am not a huge fan of going to the dentist, but I left the office telling them thank you and how pleasant my visit had been.

Our family has been going to this practice for a very long time and we have always received exceptional customer service from the entire office- the dentists, hygienists, and front office staff. Julie, Bonnie, and Stephanie always go above and beyond to make certain that our needs are met, and are so helpful with our ever changing schedules. Even though it is a distance from our home, we would never think of going anywhere else. We have referred many family members and friends there. Thank you for all that you do!

I have had extensive and traumatic past dental procedures which led me to fail in getting needed fillings. Dr Alwan was sensitive to MY anxiety and communicated through the process of filling 2 big cavities SAVING me from unnecessary root canals! I am 46 yrs old and finally feel I have a caring, intelligent and also cost conscious dentist to call my own and for my family!

I have been going here for over 20 years and have found the change of ownership to be seamless. They have retained most of the staff including Bonnie and Julie at the front desk who are fantastic at their jobs. I had 2 crowns done and was very pleased with Dr. Kashou and his dental assistant Mario. Dr. Kashou is warm and personable and explained the procedure to make me at ease. I highly recommend this dental office and Dr. Kashou.
