I am new to town and unexpectedly had a filling pop out over the weekend. CITIDental came up as taking my insurance, and they were able to see me next day after I called. The support staff were super-friendly and helpful, the dental staff walked me through all the x-rays and photos they took, and I was able to get all my work done that same day. Dr. Sandhu explained everything thoroughly and I barely felt anything when she gave me a local anesthetic. Immediately booked an appt for a cleaning and I'm coming back.

I got my first crown ever at this place in 2017. Not 6 months after getting that done, I was told by a different dentist at this place that I needed another crown in a different area! I was suspicious and found someone else who said I didn't need one. Fast forward, after moving across country and finally finding a very well reviewed and credentialed dentist, I was able to correct bad work done by this CitiDental office and others. The crown from 2017 was not placed correctly - a huge amount of cement was left in, creating persistent gingivitis! I had gingivitis in that spot for 5 years (which has since resolved after a better crown)! And knowing how they tried pushing another crown on me for a tooth I have not had trouble with to this date, I'm suspicious that I never needed the first one at all. This has cost me over $5k in combined first and second crowns and a lot of frustration.

Avoid this clinic. The dentist Dr Arif is unprofessional and new. She performed procedures when she knew that the anesthesia has not taken effect. I was obviously in pain but she said she has no time to wait. I am on time or 5min late for every appointment. Dr Arif referred me to take a scan of one of my tooth at their collaborating clinics. Paid $300 extra for that. But CITIDental refused to give me an diagnosis on that tooth. I paid in April but its Aug. still dont know why that tooth has bone loss without any cavity and what can I do about it. I called them 5 times to followup on this scan. Still no response. They said they had issues with the other dentist who comes every other week. Idk why it takes them months to respond despite my 5 calls. Dr Arif forced me to do 2 crowns while I specifically asked i want to do 1 by 1. She didnt do any xray but claimed that my 2 teeth need crowns;otherwise it will progress into root canal. Aetna my insurance company is currently looking into this as they suspect these are unnecessary procedures

The worst dentist that you can choose. They don't understand the problem and try just to charge you instead of trying to fix your problem. Very impolite and aggressive. I don't recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their own teeth.

I had an amazing experience for a first time patient at CitiDental Brookline. It was a bit longer than expected about an hour and a half, but at the end I understood it was to do a thorough assessment of my dental needs. I had an awesome hygienist, Mariana, who made me feel comfortable as well as the assistant David and doctor Haidar. Overall it was a great experience as well as the front staff that helped me understand my Insurance inquiries. I highly recommend Citidental Brookline!

If you're considering Citidental Brookline, I recommend you listen to the other negative reviews here. If you do go here, get a second opinion before letting them talk you into any expensive procedures because you probably don't need them. I have never had braces, never had any problems with my teeth. After I complained about grinding my teeth, the dentist here told me my teeth were cracking and the only solution would be to straighten them with invisalign. My teeth already seemed straight to me, but I believed him and was scared of damaging my teeth. Well, I can only imagine that he must get a kickback from invisalign (based on my experience and many others now that I am reading reviews). I paid nearly $5,000 for invisalign (and I don't think my teeth look any different for what it's worth.) My biggest complaint is that I was told that they spoke with my insurance company and the insurance was going to reimburse me for half of the cost, so I thought it was going to be more like $2,500. I should have never paid the $5,000 up front, or believed they checked with my insurance. As it turns out, the dentist here is not an orthodontist so I was not covered. I know everyone's insurance is different and I've learned the lesson NOT to believe they already checked in about it. My insurance company told me the have no record of the office calling or emailing and that it's very clear that it would only be covered if an orthodontist performed it. I asked the office if they had proof of reaching out so we could rectify it (and of course they didn't.) The office knew this and lied to me. They either lied about talking to my insurance company or they lied about me being covered, either way, I am out $5,000 because of them. I am going to a new dentist and they were appalled this happened and said they would have never recommended invisalign in my situation to begin with. I hope the dentist at Citidental enjoys the vacation that I probably paid for.

I would not recommend CITIDental in Brookline. Went in for a first visit and it lasted over 3 hours with poor communication. The visit started with a seemingly new tech "trying" to take xrays of my teeth. My xrays were treated as a learning experience for the tech. Another person was watching as they tried to take the xrays and after the tech would mess up the other person would correct the tech. The xrays alone took over 1 hour. It was painful, scraping my gums, and not at all professional. I AM NOT YOUR TEST RUN. I AM A PATIENT so don't have your new employee practice on me while someone else watches on and lets them do thing incorrectly only to then have them do it again. I do have some sympathy for the new tech because the other people, including Dentist Arif, were mean to him. After the xrays, my teeth were scanned. This process went okay but I was not told why this was being done. I then saw the dentist, who did some work on my teeth and was not very pleasant about it. Dr Arif did not have the most pleasant bedside manner and seemed rather short and curt. Additionally, while I was in the chair and the tech was helping the Dr, she at one point scolded him in front of me. All in all, dental work on teeth can always be painful, but this ENTIRE visit was painful and unprofessional. I will not be returning.

I had the pleasure of coming to Citidental Brookline a couple months ago and the visit was one of the best dental experiences that I have had. The whole team was so attentive and thorough and truly created a environment that eased my anxiety of coming to the dentist. Dr. Arif was very knowledgable and kind and truly made me feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. The hygienist Mariana was so gentle and gave me one of the best cleanings I have had. The dental assistants were very caring and worked seamlessly with the doctor and hygienist. The girls in the front were extremely thorough with talking to me about the treatment and what was to be expected at the appointment. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Don't waste your money here. My nightmare with CITIDental Brookline started when Dr. Hwang left to start her own practice (who I absolutely trusted with my dental care) and my case was transferred over to Dr. Mohammed (MJ) Alsafar. This was in 2021, shortly after dental practices started opening up for non-emergency procedures. From the start, Dr. Alsafar was negligent: (1) For a particular procedure (Invisalign) that should have been performed by a dentist, he put one of the dental hygienists in charge, who ended up spilling a chemical used to etch enamel on my face. (2) When I asked him if he could remove a piece of cement that had been left on my tooth for years after I had braces as a teenager, he told me that the only solution was to get veneers (an extremely expensive and invasive process--overkill for something that only needed to be burred off). (3) For the same Invisalign process mentioned above, Dr. Alsafar lied when he told me that, after the ten-week treatment had ended, that my case was not transferable (because I was relocating to another state), despite the fact that I was having bite interferences (and eventually developed a severe case of myofascial pain along with worsened TMJD, which took eight months to resolve with the assistance of another physician). Repeated attempts to contact Dr. Alsafar and the regional manager were blown off. Extremely expensive and incredibly invasive procedures were being recommended, and second opinions from other dentists were not corroborating with his recommended treatment plans. I was given the run-around when I stated that I wanted a refund for a failed treatment that eventually ruined my life for about a year. If you value your mental health as well as your dental health, stay the hell away from this place. There are better places to get dental work done in the Greater Boston area.

What a great experience! I met Dr Alsafar who was super professional and knowledgeable. I have been to many dentists, but Dr Alsafar and his team were exceptional. He has a great communication skills and he explained what needed to be done thoroughly. I have an anxiety when it comes to see a dentist, but today Dr Alsafar made me very comfortable and he took away all the fear and the anxiety I had through his skills and confidence. He treated my tooth and I am certainly coming back for my future treatment. I highly recommend Dr Alsafar!

I initially discovered CITIDental Brookline when I booked an Invisalign consultation back in February. I had such a great experience that I ended up switching dentists and will now attend CITIDental permanently for biannual cleanings. The space is beautiful and the staff were all super friendly from the front desk to the dental assistants to Dr. Alsafar himself. I felt like all staff really took the time to provide me the attention needed to develop an individual plan to treat my smile. Dr. Alsafar is incredibly knowledgeable and was able to provide me with detailed information about what I should prioritize. I highly recommend for both Invisalign treatment as well as general dentistry.
