As a valued patient of Dr. Cindy Flanagan (and her talented team), youre receiving some of the highest quality dental care in the Houston area. For over three decades, Dr. Flanagan has helped heal smiles in Houston since her graduation from the University of Texas Dental Branch or now known as the University of Texas School of Dentistry.
During this time helping patients, Dr. Flanagan goes beyond the skilled dentistry she delivers every day by staying up-to-date with the latest developments in technology and treatments that this exciting field has to offer both professionals and patients. Dr. Flanagan averages about 50 hours of continuing education each year, with well over 2000 hours already under her belt.
Dr. Flanagan earned the respected Fellowship Award with the Academy of General Dentistry in 1996, just six years after graduation, recognizing the completion of over 500 hours of continuing dental education and her successful passing of a written examination in topics in clinical dentistry. Her most recent postgraduate dental education has been completing five continuums at the esteemed LD Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. Other courses she has taken include the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry program at Louisiana State University. Dr. Flanagan is also a certified Invisalign provider and currently attends a local Spears-affiliated dental study club.
In 1992, she was chosen by the Greater Houston Dental Society as the local nominee for the Texas Young Dentist Award. In 2004, she was selected by the Houston Academy of General Dentistry as their nominee for Texas Dentist of the Year.
Dr. Flanagan is passionate about dentistry and taking care of her patients. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Her peers have also chosen her as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. This organization recognizes ethics in dentistry, as well as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. She is the past president of the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Flanagan believes that participating in organizations that emphasize excellence results in providing the best care available to her patients. She recently received her Mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry, where she is a spokesperson, enabling her to relay dental health messages to the public. In that role, Dr. Flanagan has been quoted in such magazines as Glamour and Good Housekeeping.
Before moving to Houston for dental school, Dr. Flanagan lived in Austin, where she graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in Biology. While earning her degree, she also spent one semester abroad in Avignon, France, learning the history of the area and how to cook, drink wine, and speak French. Dr. Flanagan grew up in Orange, Texas, and graduated from West Orange-Stark High School. She was recently active as the Chairwoman of the Texas Dental Association Meeting. She spent four years planning, scouting, and contracting over 60 speakers for the event, which was canceled due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns.
These days, her biggest personal interest is being with her only daughter, Meghan, who was born in 2003 after 18 years of marriage to her husband, Bill. Dr. Flanagan mostly volunteers her time these days to help with her daughters activities such as a summer swim team and helping out with high school band events.
When shes not busy being a dentist, Dr. Flanagan says she loves being outdoors. She enjoys gardening, walking her dog, swimming, biking with her family, kayaking, hiking, and traveling for skiing excursions.
Stephane received her license in May of 1998 with certifications in safe radiation and nitrous oxide practices. She started working with Dr. Flanagan on February 4, 2008. Her responsibilities at our Clear Lake dental office include being a clinical assistant, inventory management, ordering supplies, maintenance, sterilization, in-office whitening, and maintaining the back office (clinical) flow. Stephane says what she loves most about her work is interacting with our patients and being a team player. She chose dentistry because she says shes always dreamed of being in the healthcare industry. Stephane says shes thankful that she found an amazing boss like Dr. Flanagan, who always goes above and beyond to take care of her team. Stephane is nurturing, honest, competent, friendly, and compassionate. She has completed Mission of Mercy dental charity trips and traveled to local schools with Dr. Flanagan to teach kids about the importance of oral health. Outside of the office, Stephane likes relaxing in the pool, spending time with friends and family, and working out.
Jessica has been working in the dental field for over 24 years, providing her patients with compassionate, focused dental care. She completed her education at The Ohio State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Combining this stellar education with over 2 decades of experience, you know that you are in good hands! Jessica truly loves caring for her patients and promoting their overall health through effective home dental care routines and tailored in-office treatment plans. Jessica would describe herself as compassionate, energetic, detailed, honest, and passionate traits that are ever apparent in how she cares for her patients.
Roxanne has been working with Dr. Cindy Flanagan since 1997. Before working with us, Roxanne attended the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, where she earned her degree in 1984. When it comes to helping our family of patients at our Clear Lake dental office, Roxanne has quite a few duties to tend to daily. They include: reviewing your medical history, discussing your oral health issues or concerns, taking x-rays, periodontal (gum) therapy, patient education, etc. She says one of the best aspects of being a dental hygienist is the face-to-face, personal interaction you have with every patient. Being a long-term employee for Dr. Flanagan has allowed Roxanne to be a part of so many of our patients and families lives. She also enjoys helping her patients maintain optimal oral health. Roxanne is from Jennings, Louisiana, and is of a Puerto Rican/Cajun mixed heritage. Shes happily married to a retired Harris County Prosecutor, Bill, who currently works at a Regional Council for the State Bar of Texas. The couple has a son who attended and recently graduated from Xavier University.
Before becoming a treatment and new patient coordinator, Robin was formerly a dental insurance adjuster. Shes completed her training courtesy of the Texas Dental Association and continuing education at the Knowledge Bank meetings. Robin has been involved in the dental industry since 1981, so she knows a thing or two about how the office and insurance work. Robin says shes a proud member of our dental family because we have an exceptional dental team and pretty awesome patients, which makes going to work every day less like a job. She also enjoys her role at the office because it keeps her busy and allows her to work closely with and help our family of patients. Robin says the office is unique because of our dedication to excellence and teamwork, and the unequivocal care Dr. Flanagan provides to every patient. She says the doctor makes it so that its as if each patient is her long-time dear friend.
Philicia received her dental training and education at UTSD Houston. Shes been working in dentistry since 2007 and has been a valued member of our team since 2014. As a dental hygienist, shes responsible for keeping your teeth clean, keeping you educated about your oral health, and taking care of your periodontal (gum) needs. Philicia says working alongside Dr. Flanagan and the fellow members of our dental family is rewarding because of the special bond they have with each other and our patients. She also loves seeing her patients change and grow, becoming more healthy while hearing about all of their latest life achievements. When you meet Philicia, youll find that shes consistent, loyal, dedicated, outgoing, and kind. Outside of work, Philicia is usually spending time with her husband and their two children, Sabin and Emery.
Tina started her dental journey as a lab assistant in Illinois in 1991. She was registered as a dental assistant in Texas in 1998. Shes spent nearly 30 years working in the field, helping so many smiles become healthier and happier. She became a member of our dental team in 2012. At the office, Tina stays busy scheduling, answering phones, and handling insurance claims while also tending to her dental assisting duties. She says she wears many hats at work. Tina loves working with patients and watching families grow together. Tina says that working as part of our team is a special experience because of how dedicated everyone is to not only the work they do, but more importantly, helping patients always feel comfortable and at home. Youll find that Tina is caring, spiritual, honest, accepting, and hard-working. Tina is a mother to a teenage son who makes her proud to be a mother. She enjoys reading, gardening, exercising, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
