Hi Im Dr. Doug Hartley. As the old saying goes, if you do something that you love, youll never work a day in your life. Dentistry is that something for me. Its such a great profession because I can use art and science to make someone else healthier and more confident.
I was born in Arcadia, Indiana and was a graduate of Hamilton Heights. I went on to graduate from Ball State University with a degree in biochemistry with honors, IUPUI earning a Masters in Biology, and IU School of Dentistry in 2012 for my doctorate. I have completed continuing education courses directed at Invisalign, early intervention orthodontics for children that are developing malocclusions, surgical planning and prosthetic restoration of dental implants, photography for increased lab communication in esthetic dentistry, DOCS oral conscious sedation for the nervous dental patient, and smile design dentures. Continuing education is and always will be important to me. My business partner and friend Dr. Blake Westra has titled me the CNO (Chief Nerd Officer) of our group. I love learning about new procedures and techniques to ensure that we are abiding by the best practices in dentistry today.
In my personal life, I married the love of my life, Janine, in 2014. She truly has been a patient partner through the start of my career, and I couldnt have done it without her help. We have two adorable twin girls. Together, we like hiking with our two crazy chocolate labs, a good concert, and any binge-worthy show when it gets too cold to go outside.

From the initial phone call and first visit the entire staff is warm, friendly and professional. Clean and nice environment set up for all ages of patients. All procedures are explained beforehand as well as costs after insurance. You don't have to like going to the dentist but you do need to like your dentist and staff. I've found mine.

My husband, sons, and I all use Cicero Family Dental. Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful. I especially appreciate that Dr Hartley makes eye contact and talks to me like a person, rather than just a case. I'm terribly picky about dentist offices and this is the first time in years I've found a dentist I like, and not that I merely tolerate. Bonus points for their eclectic in-office music!

Great staff and Doctor. Was able to have an implant done and had such a great experience. It almost a one stop office. And being so busy this makes it so nice. The staff is very nice and helpful. I would recommend anyone to come here.

Brenda the dental hygienist took excellent care of me. She gave me dark sunglasses so that the bright light wouldn't make my migraine worse. I also have TMJD so she used something to help keep my jaw propped open to avoid more pain. I appreciate her TLC! Dr Hartley was very informative and pleasant also!

I really enjoy going to the dentist. All the staff are so kind. They actually talk to you joke with you and make you feel a part of them. Dr. Hartley never condescends and complety explains that day's proceedure before AND during the process. I'm old and I've had many dentists throughout my life. I'd recommend the folks here to anyone. They also tell you up front, what the cost will be and do everything they can to save money! Check them out! I felt that their fees were very fair!
