Dr. Akhavan opened the doors to her Chula Vista orthodontic office in 2001, and is proud to be a part of the local community. She has treated thousands of happy and satisfied patients over the past 12 years and her office continues to grow because of the great smiles she has helped to create!
Dr. Akhavan attended Dental School at USC and is a Trojan through and through! As a dedicated and hard-working student, she graduated number 6 in her class of 120 students and was immediately accepted into the 3-year Orthodontic residency, also at USC. After three years of hard work, she earned her Masters degree in Cranio-facial Biology as well as a specialty certificate in Orthodontics. During her residency, Dr Akhavan was involved with treatment outcomes research and was published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics (JCO) for her contributions.
Dr. Akhavan is active in following dental societies: the ADA, the CDA, Womens Dental Association, PSCO and the SD County Dental Society. Her top priority is to provide the highest quality orthodontic care possible, delivered in a caring and friendly environment.
We have a state of the art office with paperless and digital technology which allows Dr Akhavan to stay on top of all the details of treatment. She examines every patients at every visit and ensures an efficient treatment process.
We provide great service and we are always available to answer any questions for our patients. Dr. Akhavan and her staff are continuously taking continuing education classes and seminars and staying on top of the latest technologies and advancement in orthodontics. What this means for you as a patient is: a shorter, and more comfortable treatment with the best results possible.
Patti has been with Dr. Akhavan since the 1st day of the office opening. She is a caring and thoughtful treatment coordinator. She will make it easy for you to start your treatment in our office and keep things going smoothly all the way through. Patti has 25 + years of experience in orthodontics and is very knowledgable in all aspects of treatment. She lives in Chula Vista with her husband and son. FUN Tidbits: Her favorite singer is Luis Miguel, her favorite food is sushi and her hobbies are jogging and hiking.
Sara has a great energy and is all enthusiasm and smiles! Our patients love her! She is a devoted, quick and precise assistant and makes sure everything is done with comfort and a smile. She lives in Chula Vista with her family, 4 children and her puppy golden retriever Lucy. FUN tidbits: her favorite singer is Jenny Rivers, fave food is Mexican and her hobbies include singing and dancing!
Judy is our calm and quick assistant and Sara's partner in the back! She can do things no one else can do in the office and she is definitely the best with technology and any equipment that needs a little TLC. Her quiet sense of humor is enjoyed by all of us! She lives with her family, 2 sons and 3 dogs! FUN tidbits: favorite singer Luis Miguel and Depeche Mode, fave food is Greek and Mexican and she enjoys reading as a hobby.
Sara brought Claudia to the office to 'help out a bit' and she ended up staying for 8 yrs! Claudia brings style and fun to the office. She is quick as lightning and gets things done perfectly in the blink of an eye! She lives in Chula Vista with her family, 3 children and yorkie ABRIL. FUN tidbits: favorite singer Luis Miguel, fave food is Japanese and walking is one of her hobbies.
Camelia does a great job juggling the phones, scheduling and all insurance billing... NOT an easy job! Her calm demeanor, focus and ability to multitask is key to getting many many thing done well. She lives in Chula vista with her family, four daughters and soon to be 2 grandchildren! FUN Tidbits: Favorite singer Kari Jobe, her favorite food is Ribs and her favorite hobby is reading.

The dentist left me with uneven teeth, one is longer than the other & my front left tooth is way more forward than the other. She made me sign a contract to finish treatment. Waste of $$

If you want to deal with a condescending and rude receptionist named Patty please go to this place. Not sure who she thinks she is, but she won't even look at you in the eye and when someone goes in to check in, she simply says ok wait outside. This office does not even allow one family to sit inside the lobby. I won't be referring this place anymore nor will I bring my other 2 kids here since they will need braces too. Anyway, I warned Patty about her rude behavior and that I would have to post a review about her and she said " I don't care." Okay!

Love this place. My sons teeth are beautiful. The price is reasonable. All of the office staff and Dr. Akhavan are amazing.

My ten year old daughter just had her braces taken off and on the way to Dr. Akhavan's office she looked a bit sad. I thought she was nervous and told her not to worry, to which she replied that she wasn't worried she "was just going to miss going to the dentist." That sums up the service we received from start to finish from Dr. Akhavan and her entire staff. Not only were the results amazing but on every appointment they all made my little girl feel completely at ease and welcomed her as a friend. Not a single appointment ever began late. Not once was there an occasion that I didn't have procedures fully explained. And not once did my daughter not look forward to going to her appointments. Dr. Akhavan came highly recommended and I would fully second that recommendation. In a world where we are told everything is 'the best', Dr. Akhavan and her staff truly are.

Dr. Akhavan is amazing. She did such a great job with our daughters teeth. Our daughter needed extra time and attention and Dr. Akhavan took all the time and care needed for us to have a super result. Our daughter is glowing! Dr. Akhavan's office is a well oiled machine. There is very little waiting and everyone is super friendly. Very clean and pleasant.

My son just had his braces removed by Dr. Akhavan. Each time we went in for a visit, the staff as well as the doctor were very professional and we had a wonderful experience! We would recommend Dr. Akhavan to anyone needing braces. She really cares about her patients and wants to do what's best.

My braces were done by Dr. Akhavan, I loved the result and that was 10+ yrs ago. She is a very good orthodontist, friendly and very prompt on her appointment, so don't be late or you will be re-scheduling your appointment. Now my coworkers were asking who can I recommend to do their kid's braces and Dr. Akhavan is the only orthodontist that popped in my head.

Where do I begin... I am a 43 year old male who decided to take the plunge and work on my teeth that were severly gapped and pushed out by my tongue over the years, (high level overview). Dr. Akhavan and her team of professionals really know all about the logistics of braces. I was treated as family from day one and all of my options from the cost of my Orthodontia Plan to duraton of treatment was clearly presented to me in a way that is understandable and comfortable.The services and atmosphere is excellent and I always look forward to going back to the office for all of my necessary adjustments. Go ahead and make the appointment you will be glad you did! Remember to sacrifice 12-18 months for Orthodontia Work for a lifetime of GREAT smiles is a small price to pay for such a HUGE return. ~Mark Cruz
