I grew up in a family of dentists who have inspired me throughout my life. As a high schooler, I spent a lot of time helping my mother at her dental office. I looked on as she improved her patients health and livelihood through her work, and soon I had no question that I wanted to go into science and medicine, as well.
After graduating from Temple University School of Dentistry, I joined the family practice and, years later, now run it as my own. Through collaboration with my mother and furthering my skills base with continuing education courses every 3-4 weeks, I continue to learn and grow as a medical professional. Im constantly excited about all of the changes, improvements, and new technologies coming to dentistry because they allow me to provide even better care to my patients.
I treat a wide range of patients with varying professions and dental health goals at my practice. My ability to speak Tagalog, Fukienese, Mandarin, Spanish, and English allows me to connect with an even larger population in the Bay Area and run one of the most diverse practices in the city.
I always take the time to educate my patients on preventative dentistry and overall health, putting the focus on health care rather than disease care. I am proud to offer a full range of services to my patients, so they can expect the same topnotch care for both their checkup cleanings and more specialized wisdom tooth extractions.
I pride myself and the care I provide on the fact that many of my patients refer their loved ones to me for my compassionate, honest, and approachable attitude. My practice grows naturally through these wordofmouth references and its great to meet new people who were referred to me by happy patients its how I know Im making patients happy. Whether my patients struggling with their dental health, their romantic life, or their finances, I truly listen and care about my patients lives. My patients are my friends and family.

The services were fine. The billing is completely dishonest. I was charged: 1. by how many surfaces the doctor touched on my tooth vs fillings 2. claims for things that weren't done were submitted to my insurance which put me to a max immediately. After just one visit to the dentist, it maxed out the plan for the year. UPDATE: After filing a claim with insurance and contacting the office I was refunded for the services that weren't provided. Even though it was not a pleasant experience, it was resolved.

I was a patient years ago, and he told me I had many cavities, plus needed some treatment for my gums. I asked another dentist who told me my teeth were fine. I'm posting this review now because the same thing just happened to a friend of mine. Don't go there.

I recently moved to San Francisco and have been trying to find a good dentist, and fortunately I found Dr. Chua who is a very kind and conscientious individual. He also handles a lot of the administrative side of his practice which seems to streamline things quite a bit. Finding parking nearby was easy on a Wednesday morning. Highly recommend!

I feel very lucky I found Dr. Chua. He is a very compassionate and professional dentist. When I came in for my fillings, it was the most painless and easy-going experience I have had with a dentist so far. I liked the equipment he used to get the job done and he checked in with me every step of the way. I also appreciate his conservative approach to dental care and hearing out my concerns. I walked away feeling at ease and recommended him to my family members. I am typically afraid/nervous to see a dentist but thanks to Dr. Chua, I look forward to my future appointments. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience! Central, easily accessible location in the Mission district and you're supporting a family business. Dr. Chua is extremely knowledgeable and careful. I went in for a cleaning and got fillings done by him which were a completely painless and quick procedure. Highly recommend.

Dr. Chua took care of my best friend and I today on both our appointments and we were very satisfied with our services! We were very well taken care of and comfortable throughout our appointment. Dr. Chua is very personable and makes sure you are well taken care of from the beginning to end of your appointment. Covid safe too. I highly recommend coming here!

Dr. Chua did a great job with treating the infection in my gums and straightening my teeth. The ClearCorrect (like Invisalign) straightened my teeth faster than I expected, in only 8 months! He gives great answers to all the questions I have and really helps me understand how I can keep good care of my teeth. Highly recommended!

Dr. Chua is seriously the best! I have many dental issues and a big fear of dentists but Dr. Chua always works with me to create a plan. I have been to over 5 dentists in the bay area and Dr. Chua definitely tops them all, can't recommend enough.

Derrick is efficient and gets the job done very nicely. He's willing to work with you if there's concerns or issues. He's a pretty cool guy, very friendly. Make sure you are clear of everything going on and you will have quality dental work and service.
