At Christman Periodontics we are committed to providing Lancaster and the surrounding area with personal, professional and patient-focused care. It is our mission to provide an exceptional, service-oriented environment where you will feel comfortable, informed and welcome.

Not all periodontists are board-certified. Dr. Christman is the only full-time, board certified periodontist currently practicing in Lancaster County. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, he has achieved significant additional standards beyond the mandatory requirements of the specialty. In addition to doctoral training, diplomates are required to attain postdoctoral periodontal certification in an ADA approved program, where they receive concentrated training in their specialty. They are required to pass rigorous oral and comprehensive qualifying examinations which require recertification every six years. This means that Dr. Christman receives in-depth continuing education training on the latest treatment methodologies for advanced periodontal disease. Dr. Christman is also a member of The American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration

Thanks to the latest in 3D imaging technology, our office is able to place implants with 99.9% accuracy. We can see bone structures, nerves and blood vessels in great detail and can therefore plan our treatments in advance to ensure a successful outcome and a speedy recovery. In fact, were the only periodontist in Lancaster County that uses this kind of technology in our practice. Most importantly, we use Astra & Straumann implants which are consistently recognized by periodontists around the world as the top manufacturer of quality dental implants.

We put our patients first, and tailor treatments to achieve the best outcome in each individual case. This means taking the time to listen, examine and discuss our findings. We present treatment plans and discuss both the medical and financial aspects of any recommendation before beginning treatment. We do our best to spend as much time as possible with our patients, listening, discussing, answering questions and making sure that everyone we treat feels comfortable and confident that theyve made the right treatment decision.

At Christman Periodontics, we believe that treating the underlying causes of periodontal disease and restoring oral health should come before placing implants. Too often, chronic conditions are left untreated and result in expensive, avoidable repairs to implants. We care about your overall well-being, and want you to experience the best process to achieve comprehensive oral health. Because we make the gums healthy before any subsequent treatments or implants, we create beautiful, long-lasting, healthy smiles!

At Christman Periodontics, we place your safety as our highest priority. To safeguard the health of our patients and staff, we uphold the strictest sterilization standards in order to avoid cross-contamination and to prevent infection. These processes meet or surpass those recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Dr. Christman received his Bachelor of Science from University of Minnesota in 2000, and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University School of Dentistry in 2005. Following completion of his dental degree, Dr. Christman served as an officer (Lieutenant Commander) in the US Navy at posts both state-side and overseas where he helped safeguard military readiness by providing service members and their families with high-quality dental care.

In 2009, upon completion of his military service, Dr. Christman pursued advanced training in periodontics and implants through a three-year surgical residency at Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (2009-2012).

After completing his Board Certification as a Periodontist, Dr. Christman furthered his skills through a one-year Implant Periodontal Prosthodontics Fellowship at the University Of Maryland School Of Dentistry in 2013. Through this intensive program, he increased his clinical and technical abilities to deliver the highest quality of advanced patient care in Periodontal and implant dentistry.

On a personal note, Dr. Christman resides in Lancaster, PA with his wife and three children. He brings his enthusiasm home to his family through their love of travel, cooking, and outdoor activities of all kinds. As a healthcare provider myself, I'm disappointed that this practice which claims to have the latest treatments and knowledge does not require masks in their office and has no answer for precautions for COVID. That is a sad and unsafe stance to see in any type of healthcare practice, especially one where the close contact for treatment puts patients and staff in the perfect environment for disease transmission. I have to wonder how they got their good reputation if they are not evidence-based enough to follow best practices. Local vaccination rates are not high enough to be lax in prevention of transmission.

Outstanding experience today at Christmas Periodontics ! The staff was helpful, pleasant, and just very nice to work with. The explained everything in detail and were very friendly which helps when you are nervous! Doctor Christmas was excellent. He was very through, kind and gentle and again explained everything that he was going to do and why. He went over all the options and he was gentle and very caring. Then later that night he personally called to check on how I was after the procedure, just outstanding medical treatment. Can't say enough good things about this doctor and his staff. This is where to go if you need periodontal services.

This doctor cares about your teeth. He cares how it looks, feels, even how it fits in your mouth. Nothing is more apparent than the fact that this doctor is the best person you could ask for to be working on your smile for you.

I don't know where to start. I am very nervous when it comes to any dental procedure whatsoever. I was refer to Dr. Christman office in Lancaster by my awesome dentist. I knew I was in great hands but still nervous at the same time. Long story short, his staff is amazing when it comes to phone conversations, walk ins etc. They make you feel so comfortable, the atmosphere is inviting, the manner of approach and their tone lets you know you are in the right place. They were so kind to me and my noisy kids. The front desk staff made sure my insurance and everything was in network. They work with my schedule as well. I did a walk in and they manage to squeeze me into the doctors schedule. I was very excited about that because whatever was going on with my tooth, was freaking me out and I needed to see the doctor ASAP. The doctor himself is so nice, he makes you feel so comfortable and he listens to you, he speaks to you in a respectable manner and let you know that everything will be okay. I am annoying with asking a bunch of questions. He and his staff had enough patience with me so I'm sure they can with anybody. I had a fractured infected root canal taken out yesterday. I was so nervous for nothing. It went so smooth and he talk me through the whole process. I was at ease and I felt nothing. The doctor himself give me a courtesy call when I got home after several hours to check and make sure I was okay and reminded me about home care instructions ( for the tooth. I was beyond amazed. I don't like to write reviews but I wrote this one because I'm sure somebody out there needs a doctor office that cares so much about their patient and I feel a lot of people are missing out on great service like this. My father in law was amazed by the great service we received. He said to me, you don't find this kind of service often. Thank me later but whoever reading this, you need to visit this practice for your dental implant and service needs. Also, they have no idea that I wrote this. This is all from the excellent experience I received from my many visits. Thank you so much Dr. Christman and Staff.

Dr. Christman and his staff are awesome. The front of the house was totally professional and face to face as well as over the phone. Impeccable record keeping led to there never being an "umm" or "an I don't know " when I had questions. They thoroughly went over my entire procedure from start to finish and after I was finished I received a phone call from the doctor himself. I know that this alone is rarely ever done, in this field no less by the doctor himself. On top of all of this the office was also spotless. If this review sounds over the top well that is most likely because it's rare to find good quality care and service as exemplified by this office.

This office does it right! From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a friendly smile and offered a beverage while you wait. I was brought back on time and within moments the Dr was in the room and starting my procedure. I was able to get a chair massage during my procedure as the chair offered that feature. It was a nice surprise! At the end of my procedure I was offered a warm towel to cleanse my face, nice touch. My prescriptions were called in for me and since the receptionist was so thorough at check in and had already taken my co pay and scheduled my post op I was able to head right out.

Dr. Christman and his whole staff are truly outstanding. I came to Dr. Christman''s office through a referral (for gum recession caused by orthodontics) from my primary dentist. I walked in on my first visit TERRIBLY anxious, given my history with dental anxiety and so on. I left feeling reassured, but still nervous as I waited for the "big day". When it came down to my procedure (two teeth needing a gum graft, using tissue from the roof of my mouth), I was really, really anxious ... but Dr. Christman and his staff were SO gracious with me as I took the extra time I needed to gather myself. (The Ativan really helped, too.) I was so relaxed toward the end that I even joked around, asking to see the tissue graft before it was placed over my teeth. (He did actually show me -- I have pictures to prove it!) Dr. Christman gave me as many frequent breaks as I needed and never once made me feel bad or self-conscious because of the extra "care" I was needing. I'm thrilled to say that it's now been several months, post-op, and the graft itself has taken wonderfully. My roots are fully covered and, as far as we can tell, there isn't any need for any follow-up treatment. No more risk of losing teeth because of straightening them in the first place! So, all that to say ... I'm very grateful to Dr. Christman and his staff for their expert care with especially-anxious patients (like me) and in Dr. Christman's laser-focused, highly-meticulous, detail-oriented approach to providing second-to-none periodontal care. He will be highly recommended by me to anyone that will listen. He and his staff truly made my care a fantastic experience--exactly the opposite of what my anxiety tempted me to fear.

Dr. Christman and his staff are professional, knowledgeable and caring. Dr Christman takes the time to carefully explain the procedure and answer all questions you might have. He goes to great lengths to make sure you are as comfortable and pain free during the entire procedure. He checks and rechecks all of his measurements and adjustments to make sure the end result is nothing short of perfection. He restored my chewing ability that I haven't had in years. After inserting my new teeth, I enjoyed a meal the same evening, chewing with my entire mouth and having no discomfort whatsoever.
