I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to be a dentist and that I wanted to live in Atlanta. While in college at Florida State, I worked as a dental assistant and confirmed that dentistry was definitely for me. I attended dental school at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, earning my DDS degree in 1996. Knowing that I wanted to work with kids as a Pediatric Dentist, I did a two-year residency at Childrens National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

After finishing my residency in 1998, I could not wait to move to Atlanta to start practicing and working with children. When I moved to Atlanta, I met my husband, Shawn, fell in love, got married and now have two adorable little girls, Katherine and Caroline. I worked for 8 years at a practice in Alpharetta, Georgia. When I had my daughters, I decided that I wanted to work closer to our home and be more of a part of our great Dunwoody community. We opened our practice in Dunwoody Village in April 2007.

As a mother, I appreciate the extremely important decisions that parents must make in the care of their children's health, including the care of their teeth. I promise to provide you with the information you need to make the best decisions possible for your family's dental well-being. More importantly, I will provide your children with individualized care and dental healthcare choices to fit their specific needs - my highest priority is the comfort and health of our patients and their families.

Here are a few of my professional accomplishments and societies that I belong to. I am board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I am also a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Georgia Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the Hinman Dental Society. In 2007, I became the course director for the Pediatric Emergencies in the Dental Office Continuing Education course.

Hi! My name is Andrea. I grew up in Madison, Georgia but have lived in Atlanta for most of my life. I have years of experience in general and periodontal dentistry but when I came to work for Dr. Scott, I found pediatric dentistry to be my true calling! I love working in such an amazing and caring workplace. I have two wonderful sons and two equally wonderful daughters-in-law! In my free time, I love spending it with my grandson with another grand baby on the way! I also enjoy the beach-St. Simons being my favorite. I have a dog, Bentley, and a very loud cat, Max, that keep me busy!

I called twice to make sure this dentist took my insurance. They said yes both times. When I went to my appointment for my son they didn't tell me until after he had X-rays done. They made me pay out of pocket for this when it was their error. The front desk people should learn how to look up insurance properly before accepting someone.

My son just had his first visit with Dr. Scott. She made him feel very comfortable and she definitely knows how to handle a very curious child who wants to touch just about everything. She takes her time with each patient and their family to explain what she is doing before and after the checkup. The staff was amazing and very helpful. They went out of there way to make me and my child feel welcomed. Much appreciated.

Dr. Scott and her staff have been wonderful with both of my children. I have been taking them there for 8+ years since they were both 3-4. The actually enjoyed going to the dentist! Both have had fillings and teeth pulled, and never had pain or any negative experiences! If you are looking for a pediatric dentist, Dr. Scott is excellent!

I had my 3 year old scheduled for her first cleaning. The receptionist came out to hustle my child inside and told me for the first time that I would not be allowed in the building. The dentist, nor the hygienist came out to introduce themselves or to walk my daughter in. I felt very uneasy because it was very rushed and she never even took a moment to get eye level with my daughter and introduce herself or explain what would occur. Yanking a child from their mom on a FIRST EVER APPOINTMENT is quite presumptuous in a child's confidence and independence level. Especially when I noted on the paperwork ,that no one had read yet, that it was to be expected she might be uncooperative. What's their protocol if a child IS uncooperative?? Do they bring them back to the parent? Do they restrain them? Too much that can go wrong and who would chance it on a first ever visit. It's a shame that a pediatric dentist wouldn't do an introduction to a child and parent. I'm by no means a helicopter mom, but sending my kids off for an invasive procedure without even being able to have access to my child is a red flag if I've ever seen one. And for the record, I work with children and have not ever expected a child to separate from a parent if anyone is uncomfortable, specifically a first session, even in these unprecedented times of covid-19. I bet she'd never let someone pull that on her daughters...

Dr. Scott and her staff are the very best! My son went to another practice and we were told he had several cavities. We got a second opinion from Dr. Scott and she told us he only needed one filling. We came back to get his cavity filled and my son came out skipping and telling me how much fun he had getting his sugar bugs removed. I can't thank her and her staff enough for their honesty and care with Charlie. I only wish she could see adults too.

I love Dr. Scott and her wonderful staff. A really easy process for me and great experience for my little one. My child felt very comfortable with everyone & loved her sparkles on her teeth at the end of her appointment :) She walked out happy and that made me very proud mom.

My three kids have been going to Dr Scott for years and I am remiss in not writing a review sooner because she is so wonderful! First of all, if dentists could be a fairy princess Dr Scott would qualify. She is the sweetest person and the kids just love her. One of my twins commented that she loves going to the dentist and her twin brother said "me too!" If that isn't the best testimony I could give than I can also add that she is very good at identifying potential issues. I would say compared to the other pediatric dentists we have gone to, she is on the conservative side. She will more often in extreme situations as was with my oldest son, take the "let's wait and keep an eye on it" approach. Her staff is also very patient, helpful and friendly, especially when it comes to insurance questions! I would recommend this practice!

My parents have been taking me to this office for as long as I can remember and they always go above and beyond. The staff is extremely friendly and Dr. Scott always takes the best care of me. It's going to be a sad day when I have to leave the pediatric dentist to go to the regular one.

This is by far the best pediatric dentistry I've ever been to. My kid (William III) hasn't been able to stop talking about it. The complimentary toothpaste they gave him afterwards was the nicest gift he's ever gotten from a dentist. I will never be taking my son to another dentist for all the time that he is alive.

Dr. Scott and her Team are such an asset to our community! In FEB 2020 I was in a car accident where another driver totaled my car (as I was on my way to get my daughter from school). I called my husband who was at Dr. Scott's office with my son having his teeth cleaned. He explained the situation and they assured him they. would look after my son. This allowed him to go collect my daughter and retrieve me from the accident scene. Not only is Dr. Scott a skilled & amazing pediatric dentist - you can literally trust your children will be in the best of care even if you cannot be there. Thank you Dr. Scott and your amazing Team!
