Most recently they have completed the rigorous Kois continuum in Seattle and are studying to become instructors at the Kois Center for Advanced Dental Education.

As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. Thats why we focus on comprehensive examinations checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer and jaw joint exams, and taking x-rays when necessary. We also know that routine cleanings, sealants, and fluoride are all helpful in preventing dental disease. Not only are we focused on the beauty of your smile, were also concerned about your health. A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.
Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Dr. Hansen, and Dr. Jurash, train under Dr. John Kois. Dr. Hansen and Dr. Jurash both mentor students at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA. The Kois Center is the only Dental Continuing Education Program in the country reviewing, conducting and publishing independent research. This allows our doctors to stay current on all the relevant research in the field.
Dr. Christine Hansen received her DDS from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has built a reputation for delivering the highest level of patient care using advanced clinical practices in Palo Alto since 1990. This commitment is reflected in Dr. Hansen being named Best Dentist in Palo Alto on numerous occasions.
Dr. Hansens dedication to excellence is demonstrated by her commitment to ongoing dental education and teaching. She is heavily involved with the internationally recognized Kois Center for Dental Education in Seattle, Washington, where she is a graduate, a Mentor and chairs the Certification Exam Committee. Dr. Hansen is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and works closely with nationally recognized sleep physicians, including those at Stanford University and Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
Dr. Hansen believes in adopting new tools and practices into her practice to provide patients with additional scientifically proven treatment options. This includes Dr. Hansen being an early adopter of Invisalign tooth straightening, Cerec in office restorations and digital design tools for dental implant placement and improved restorations.
Dr. Hansen is committed to giving back to the community and has been recognized for her efforts to aid the Lucille Packard Childrens Hospital craniofacial program through the Smiles for Life Program. She received a Special Care Award for serving medically compromised and geriatric patients. When Dr. Hansen is not in her Palo Alto dental office, she likes to hike in the mountains, camp with her family, and go to the beach.
Dr. Roberta Jurash grew up on the east coast where she earned her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. Looking for warmer weather, she relocated to Palo Alto and worked at Stanford University Hospital. Even though she enjoyed working as a Physical Therapist, she realized her true calling was dentistry. She attended dental school at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. J remained at UCSF for several years as a clinical instructor, lecturing and supervising dental students.
Dr. Jurash truly believes that, continuing education is the key to staying current. She is always working to stay up to date and enjoys traveling around the country to attend continuing education courses. One of her career highlights was graduating as a Mentor from the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle An Evidence Based Postdoctoral Teaching Center for dentists. At the Kois Center, Dr. J helps mentor and support dentists as they go through the rigorous curriculum.
Dr. Jurash has thoroughly enjoyed practicing general and cosmetic dentistry for the last 20 years. She is also interested in Sleep medicine and she has earned her Diplomate status with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She is certified in Invisalign, Cerec Cad-Cam Crown in a day and Dental Sedation. Currently Dr. J is also in graduate school at USC working towards her Masters Degree in Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine. She is thrilled to be able to combine her physical therapy background with her dental knowledge to help treat patients with TMJ issues. Dr. J also volunteers at Samaritan House in San Mateo, providing free dental care to the residents.
We are very proud of our wonderful team. In order to give you the very best service, each team member is highly trained in her specific job responsibility as well as being able to help in many aspects of the practice. Continuing education courses are a must for our entire team in order to provide you with the best care and personalized service.
Joe Hagan, Office Manager is doctor Hansens father. He is a retired financial executive having recently been an Executive V. P. & CFO of Arraycomm. Before that, Joe was CFO at Ericsson Inc. Joe works behind the scenes with the day-to-day operations of the business.
Norma Moreno, Her smiling face will greet you when you arrive at the office for your visit. Her enthusiasm, organization and upbeat attitude are a great addition to the office. She is a fabulous addition to our team and works hard to provide a truly excellent level of service for our patients.
Mimi Ingram, RDA, will be one of the assistants by your side during your dental procedures. Her positive energy and smiling face will put you at ease. She assists the dentists seamlessly and goes out of her way to make sure you are relaxed.
Carlos Gomez, RDA, Carlos says What I love most about this practice is the amazing camaraderie amongst team members. We take great pride in the work that we do and treat our patients as part of our family. We are happy to have Carlos on our team.

I have a fear of doctors and this entire staff went above and beyond to reassure/comfort me. They validated my experience, feelings, and concerns. Norma modified the schedule to assure I was seen in a timely manner. Before my visit Christine emailed me several time checking and re-checking my feeling on coming to confirm I would be greeted and treated in the unique way for my comfort. At first I was reluctant to answer the questions truthfully (I did not want to seem needy) but eventually I did in detail. Something that stood out to be the most was: they rearranged the staff to all female because i mentioned a fear of male professionals.They took their COVID-19 precautions seriously. Meme met my outside to go over a few things and walk me to my room. I can-not explain this but Meme made me feel so comfortable. She is like the long lost (good) mother you never had. That is weird but I do not know how else to explain it. She asked so many questions to make sure again I was comfortable. The most shocking part (i mean this in the most respectful way to other dentist) Dr. Roberta Jurash came to meet me for my exam and spent 15 min.+ going over my answers to the questions mentioned above. She took my concerns seriously and answered every question I had. At one point in the visit she said, "please keep me updated on anything I can do to make sure I am aware of your health (referring to a condition I have) now and n the future". Because my condition is rare and has a negative stereotype surrounding it I always have a bad experience with doctors when i bring it up. However, Dr. Jurash never treated me less-than; she actually treated me better than I have ever been treated by and dentist. None of this may be a big deal to most but it meant the world to me, I appreciate it more than they will ever know. I will be a patient here for the rest of my life.

After not seeing a dentist for several years, my teeth needed a lot of work. Dr. Hansen pointed out the most critical areas, presenting options for the remainder. Never had a prior dentist been as concerned for the long term health of my teeth. Dr. Hansen planned treatments in order of importance, and completed all within a year. The highly competent staff set up appointments for me when an outside specialist was required--and their work is highly commendable as well. Every member of the staff is courteous, gentle, supportive, and knowledgeable. They did an excellent job of explaining care and prevention of my teeth and gums. I was shocked at how little I knew about dental care before I went to Dr. Hansen. Now I have healthy, beautiful teeth that I know how to take care of!

Best dental office I have been to. The team takes care of you and makes sure you are comfortable throughout the procedures. They even have massage dental chairs and music for you to listen to during your treatment.
