From a young age, Dr. Catherine Young has always been interested in art. She has always enjoyed working with her hands in three-dimensional art, and dentistry is the perfect profession for her to express her passion.
Dr. Catherine Young was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. She received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Temple University. She practiced at a community outreach clinic in Maryland and private practice in Pennsylvania before joining our office in the fall of 2010.
With an extensive background in the latest dental training and technology, great attention to detail and warm personality, Dr. Young strives for a patient-focused approach, to provide exceptional treatments in a comfortable environment for all her patients.
We are proud of our professional and knowledgeable staff, including skilled clinicians and hygienists. Our team stays at the top of their field through regular continuing education courses. We are members of the American Dental Association.
At Christiana Dental Spa, we are a modern general dental office that provides high quality dentistry, utilizing the very best technology for our patients health and comfort. We offer family, general, and cosmetic dental services with flexible scheduling. For patients without traditional dental insurance, we offer an in-office total health dental plan for your convenience.

My temporary bridge was a little harder to get off then I thought it would be, but with a little muscle and Novocain, Dr. Young and Cassie took great care of me. I can't say enough good things about Christiana Dental Spa. From check in to check out the staff is amazing. I would highly recommend this practice.

"After three visits to Christiana Dental Spa since last Fall, I am more and more impressed with the quality of this practice. The dental hygienists are outstanding -- thorough, informative and gentle. No clumsy hands here. Just a lot of good info about the state of my teeth and gums and good advice about improvements I should make to my oral care. Wow! My dentist Dr. Young is also top notch, doing a thorough job of examining my entire mouth. This dental practice is among the best I've ever experienced in my 50+ years of going to dentists. "

If I can put zero stars I would. This practice over charges. I have a receipt from that my insurance company paid the full balance and says no payment is due. Yet I keep getting a bill it's been 3 years now. Writing to let does nothing.

I find it shocking how many good reviews there are frankly. I had to change dentists due to a change in insurance and my last dentist appointment had been only 6 months previously. I had to fill out the intake paperwork twice because of a computer issue which was annoying but not terrible. The staff was very friendly but immediately on being shown back to a treatment room the hygienist tried to sell me two "preventative tests" that were not covered by insurance totaling 51$, I declined. After x-rays and a physical periodontal screening I was told I had mild gingivitis and my teeth were too scaled for a normal cleaning and I would have to schedule a separate appointment for a descaling and it would only be partially covered by insurance. When the doctor came in she inspected my x-rays and ruled that I had three cavities on both sides of my mouth which would need separate appointments. I don't remember the dentist actually looking in my mouth or not but I know she did not poke my teeth with any implement. When I went to schedule my next appointment I received a charge sheet for the upcoming treatments totaling almost 300$ after insurance. I've always had decent teeth and I am pretty diligent about my dental health so I sought out a second opinion. Somehow the second office at a different location not only was able to clean my teeth despite the massive scaling that would require 200$ of descaling treatment and the second dentist couldn't find any of the cavities the doctor at Christiana said were clearly visible on the x-ray despite looking at the x-rays that were taken at Christiana. I don't know that this isn't an honest mistake but this feels like a money making scam and I would caution anyone who is advised to do expensive work at Christiana to get a second opinion.

I had the best dental examination and conversation with Lara. I never knew what those numbers meant (3-3-1; 2-3-3) with that pointy stick but Lara explained it all. A concern was seen in my dental X-rays and Victor S. was outstanding! Victor spoke with me, checked with the doctor and then called an oral surgeon and got me an appointment the same day. The concern turned out to be nothing. Victor called to confirm what the oral surgeon had told me. The care and compassion shown by Victor was amazing. As a scared patient, I needed the humanity that Victor offered. Thank you times a trillion.
