Dr. Brad Christenson is a board certified orthodontist who has been creating smiles in Chesapeake since 2004. Prior to that, he served the men, women, and families of the US Air Force as an orthodontist and officer for 22 years. Dr. C has treated over 8,000 orthodontic patients over his career and still loves seeing the final smiles and amazing transformations in each one of his patients!
Dr. C practiced as a general dentist in the military for 5 years before completing his orthodontic residency at St. Louis University. After retiring from the Air Force, he became an Associate Professor of Orthodontics at Vanderbilt University, where he loved sharing his enthusiasm of the profession with new orthodontists. Dr C. is a member of the American Board of Orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontics, and Tidewater Dental Group.
Dr. C has been married to Sandy for over 40 years. He enjoys spending time with his three children and seven grandchildren. He and Sandy love to travel and find many opportunities to do so ski tips, grandchildrens soccer games, Green Bay Packers games, or relaxing at the beach. Dr. Cs children take him to an MLB baseball game in a new stadium every year for Fathers Day, with the goal of getting to every stadium!
Sandy plays an instrumental role in running the practice, behind-the-scenes. From marketing, to decorating the office, to helping manage the finances, Sandy is always working to make the office a comfortable and welcoming place for all our patients and team members.
Dr. Oakley loves building the self-esteem of her patients of all ages through attractive, healthy smiles with her father. The pure delight on her patients faces when they see their new smile is why Dr. Oakley decided to become an orthodontist. When you are proud of your smile, you smile more, and the people around you will smile more too! What a great way to bring more happiness and love to Chesapeake!
Her professional career started with engineering restaurants until she decided that designing and creating confident smiles was the best application of her engineering background. She went on to graduate first in her class at VCU School of Dentistry and complete a 2 year orthodontic residency at the University of Louisville. Now shes engineering beautiful smiles for her patients and loving bringing joy and confidence to the Chesapeake community.
Dr. Oakley has been married to Will since 2012, and they have been blessed with two wonderful children. Not only is Will a wonderful husband and father, he also has a Masters Degree in IT Management and runs the IT for the office. Dr. Oakley and her family enjoy spending time outside hiking, playing at the beach, skiing, or finding their next adventure!

Dr Christianson and the entire staff are wonderful! The entire process has been easy as we were guided every step of the way. Dr Christianson is funny and kind and never to busy to answer a question for mom or the kid :). I would highly recommend Christianson Orthodontics!

Dr. Christenson and Oakley have always exceeded our expectations in both treatment, patience, genuine care, cost, and overall customer/patient care! They have always taken the time to evaluate all options for treatment. We couldn't ask for a better family orthodontist! We are so grateful to have them so close to home.

Both of our sons have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Christenson and Dr. Oakley! We had a wonderful experience and the office in general works to make it a smooth process with appts and procedures. We this practice, all three kids have beautiful smiles thanks to Dr C and Dr Oakley. Keep up the great work! Update: out with the old, in with the new. This is not the same practice it used to be. Not happy with the transition my last child made out of her braces into retainers. Make sure you follow-up with each visit and ask questions or you will be months in and be told by the financial person - not the doctor - that it will be another $1200 to fix the teeth that have been in treatment for years and thousands of dollars.

As a prior service member, Dr Christenson understands how complicated Military family's life can be with long term plans like braces. He work with us twice during PCSs to ensure we completed treatment.
