I give a negative experience and review for both the doctor and the office atmosphere. I was referred to them by dental smile of Gurnee, Illinois for removal of the Tories, on the lower jaw . The antique x-ray machine dud not take usable or clear x-rays after two trys , but yet is charged for them . The procedure was to remove all the Tories from my lower jaw to accommodate proper fitting for a full denture. After a couple procedures and a couple of thousands of dollars expense only 75% of the Tories were removed . This realized, only after going back my dentist to be fitted for full denture. In other words his procedures were not done properly and I had to go to another oral surgeon to gave job completed. The small office environment was dirty , Xrays unusable, and when I requested a copy of the Xrays I was refused them but yet charged for them . My insurance covers Xrays but the office refused billing BCBS and was told to file for coverage myself. The only copy of procedure and biling were hand written not computer generated. My sincere recommendation is to avoid this office at all costs !

They didn't have an email address that my dentist could send digital x-rays to prior to my appointment. I don't know why or how a dentist in this day and age doesn't have a email address- they're free! You don't even have to have a website! I would have had to drive back to my dentist's office (20 miles away, because they're worth the drive!) and pick up paper copies (not as high quality as the digital image) and bring them with me to my appointment. I found somewhere else to go, but it would not make me feel confident about seeing a doctor that wasn't even current enough to have an email address.

I went to Dr. Choukas to have my wisdom teeth out. I was pleasantly surprised that the cost was much less than I expected (mostly due to new insurance) but the staff and Dr. Choukas were all very kind and made me feel at ease, too. Dr. Choukas explained everything in detail so that I had no questions or anxiety. I was "put under" for the surgery and felt absolutely no pain or discomfort. I healed quickly and had no issues. I would (and have) recommended his office to others needing oral surgeries.
