Dr. Doug Beischel was born and raised in Calgary Alberta Canada. He is the third of five children. He has three older sisters and a younger brother. His mother and two sisters reside in Calgary. His other sister lives in Raotan Honduras and his younger brother and family are in Kansas City. He graduated from Bishop Grandin High School and received the Rutherford Academic Scholarship on completion of High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario and obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University Of Iowa College Of Dentistry in 1993.

Dr. Beischel has been in private practice in both Scottsdale and Paradise Valley for 29 years. He is a longstanding member of the American Dental Association, Arizona State Dental association, the Central Arizona Dental Society, and The Academy of General Dentistry. Dr Beischel has been in leadership positions in all these associations. He is a past President of the Arizona Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Beischel did post graduate studies with the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education with Dr. Tom Basta in Burlingame California. Dr. Beischel volunteered at John C. Lincoln childrens dental clinic for over 20 years and was the volunteer Chief of Staff for the clinic for five of those years. He has been associated with the Central Arizona Dental Associations Mission of Mercy event annually since its inception was the Triage lead the past 7 years.

He is the proud father of four children. His oldest son Lyndon is 21 and graduating from W.P.Carey School of Business at A.S.U. with a degree in Finance. He plans to start his MBA next year. His daughter Lara (19) is also studying business at W.P. Carey. His youngest daughter Liv (17) is a senior at Arcadia High School and is planning on attending A.S.U. next year and has applied to the Barretts Honors program. His youngest son Lars (15) is a sophomore at Arcadia High and is playing on the JV soccer team. All four of his children are fluent in French, Spanish and Mandarin.

Dr. Beischel enjoys an excellent reputation as both a dentist and a leader in the Dental Community. In his free time he enjoys: hiking, camping, golfing, and travelling to new places. Dr. Beischel is engaged to be married. His fiance Laurie McDonnell is a busy professional in her own right. Laurie and her daughter Chelsea (32) co-own Locality Real Estate. Laurie is the designated broker. Lauries son Reilly (20) is taking courses at Chandler CC and will be transferring to A.S.U. next year.

Howdy, my friend! Im glad you have reached our website and are learning about our dental practice and staff. Naturally, you have questions about me, your dentist. Lets get to know each other, shall we?I grew up in Taiwan, a small country off the coast of China. I moved to Southern California with my sisters when I was 13. Went through the public school systems of Southern California, then attended UCLA for my undergraduate training. During high school and college, martial arts and racket sports have been a large part of my life, and recently I have a new-found obsession with fishing. I am also a dog aficionado and a parent to a pomeranian and border collie.

I shadowed different health fields but ended up falling in love with dentistry because Ive always been infatuated with artistry and health care. I had the immense privilege of attending Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, which has given me extensive training in restorative dentistry and basic dental surgery.

During my third year, I was approached one of my mentors to apply for the three-year Implant Dentistry Program at the university, the only three-year program of its type. That single decision has been the most formative experience for me as a clinician and care provider. For three years, concepts in periodontal surgery, implant surgery, and prosthodontics were ingrained in how I diagnose and treat patients.

Altogether, that was seven years of schooling for dentistry that I would gladly do again because it has given me tools and knowledge for excellent patient care. What this means for you as a patient is that your future dentist has a uniquely comprehensive view of treatment from surgery to finishing your new, improved, and beautiful smile.

My treatment planning philosophy is simple. What I do for you is what I would do for my own family members. How, you ask? This means that I do not compromise on materials. I buy the best implants and restorative materials on the market and use the best labs in the Valley to deliver the best care. Good dental care requires good techniques, good materials, and good labs partnered with good patient care. I am an active participant in continuing education and have presented lectures and presentations at various professional venues to educate and learn from colleagues.

Im originally from Taiwan. I moved to the United States whenI was 13 years old and my first language was Mandarin!I LOVE animals! My childhood hero was Steve Erwin. I especially adore reptiles and used to have all sorts of snakes, lizards, and pets!

Welcome to the Cholla website! I would love to take some time to introduce myself.I was born and raised in Arizona, and Im a desert gal through and through! Growing up with five brothers and an extremely adventurous set of parents ensured that I spent lots of time outside cultivating a deep love for nature and science.

My father is a physician and my mother is a dentist, and I always had a feeling I would end up in healthcare. I started playing the harp at the age of four, piano at the age of six, and cello at the age of ten. Musical theater and involvement in the Phoenix Youth Symphony were fundamentals of my childhood. Weekly mandarin lessons and summer language intensive courses instilled in me a love of Chinese culture and language. Family, faith, music, language, travel, and nature were all at the core of my childhood.

I attended a small liberal arts college in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I double majored in biochemistry and Chinese, and I soon decided dentistry would be the career for me. Its such a beautiful blend of science, art, psychology, human connection, and communication.

I had the privilege of attending Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, the very same university my mother graduated from dental school over 30 years ago! I walked the same halls, had some of the same professors, and learned the same fabulous dental tenants that have made her a successful dentist in the Valley. The highlight of my dental school career was weekly time spent volunteering at a local free dental clinicwhich is where I ended up meeting my husband, Dr. Eric Chen! Working side-by-side and serving people in need was how our love story began, and we still share that deep passion for service and dentistry. Multiple dental mission trips to Nicaragua together brought us more internal rewards than could ever be explained as well as friendships developed with our colleagues that will last a lifetime.

Through my lens, dentistry is a beautiful way to reach and connect to people. It is my deepest desire and passion to ensure that each and every patient in my chair feels comfortable, understood, and cared for. Christi serves as Dr. Eric Chens lead surgical surgical assistant, she has been in the dental field for over a decade! She has two beautiful daughters, ages 15 and 8. When she is not busy in the office, you may find her at a cheerleading competition for her younger daughter, at the soccer field with her older daughter, or cooking up a healthy meal for her family in the kitchen. Christis favorite thing about dentistry is helping people not have a negative experience, her priority is to make sure her patients leave the office smiling!

Theresa is a Connecticut native, here in AZ since the 90s. She has worked both as a dental assistant and dental hygienist, practicing hygiene over 20 years now in Scottsdale. still passionate about all things teeth! She takes great care in being thorough yet gentle, striving always to be her personal best. She has a fabulous sidekick, her 13 year old daughter Kate. Theyve just added a 3 month old golden doodle Charlie girl. Life just keeps getting more fun.

Kelsey is one of our beautiful smiling team members working in the front office. Before working in dentistry, she had experience working in real estate marketing. We are so proud that her fianc is serving our country in the military abroad. When she is not working in the office, you can her at the gym or hiking with her pup. Her priority here at Cholla Family Dentistry is to make sure each patient feels cared for for the duration of the dental experience.

Ashley is a native Arizonian and has been a dental assistant for seven years. Prior to working in the dental field, she worked in customer service in sales. She has two beautiful children ages 11 and 2. In her free time, she enjoys taking her kids camping, to the lake, and especially to the beach (her favorite place to be!) She loves watching her children experience all the firsts that life has to offerthe zoo, the aquarium, the movies, and more!

Emerson has been in the dental field for 18 years. Also an Arizona Native, she went to school for dental assisting in San Diego. She has three gorgeous daughters, one who is 23 years old and twins that are 15 years old. In her free time, she enjoys talking on the phone with her oldest daughter and spending time at the track with the twins (they are runners at Chandler High).

Wendy is a transplant from the Pacific Northwest. She graduated from the dental hygiene baccalaureate program at eastern Washington university. She had the privilege of spending the majority of her hygiene career working with the active duty members at Fairchild Afb. She is passionate about dental hygiene as it connects to our overall health. Wendy enjoys any outdoor activity in this beautiful state when she isnt spending time with her three granddaughters.

My husband and I have been patients for years. The staff is wonderful-efficient and professional. The office has all the latest equipment and is very clean. Dr. Chen does great work. He never rushes, and listens carefully to what you say. It feels wonderful to have a dentist that I have the utmost faith in!

Ever been pricked by a cholla cactus? As an Arizona native, Dr. Kylin Chen remembers a couple of not-so-fun encounters with cacti growing up! She also remembers the stunning pink flower that bloomed every spring from the same cholla!!
