Albany Perio definitely has the WOW factor!!! State of the art facility with unrivaled patient care delivered by Dr Choe. Kylie is an absolute gem! She is kind, has a very delicate touch, and really goes above and beyond each visit. She is extremely thorough, but never makes you feel any discomfort during the cleaning visit. Dr Choe and Albany Perio are the best in the biz!!!!

The hygienist was superb! She explained everything and did a thorough job on the cleaning. Dr Choe is always on top of things and best of all he's personable and often shares a shirt funny story.

If your looking for a new Periodontist look no further. Dr. Choe is not only one of the best in the Capital District, he is personable and patient centered (he is very funny to boot). His staff is friendly and professional and the office is state of the art. Having to get my teeth cleaned every 3 to 4 months for the better part of 10 years, I can say with no hesitation, Kylie is the best Hygienist I have ever had. Don't hesitate to make an appointment to check them out.

Dr. Choe is one of the best dentist/periodontists ever. He and his staff make you feel at ease the second you enter the office. He never rushed through the procedure and told me exactly what he was doing. Great "bedside" manner. MY only is concern is how expensive it is (of course he is not "in the network" so insurance does not cover it).

My family dentist referred me to Albany Periodontics Office/Dr. Choe to have a gum graft done on a tooth in the bottom of my mouth where the gum line was receding due to previous dental work. The initial consult was $135 out of pocket, and the cost of the grafting procedure and follow up care was $1200. Dr. Choe's office does not take my insurance, but his office handled submitting the claims to my insurance company on my behalf. My insurance company covered half the cost of my care and I paid the other half. I had the grafting procedure done in January 2020. I had one outstanding appointment with Dr. Choe when COVID hit hard and that final appointment was put on hold indefinitely. The purpose of the final appointment was an intense cleaning to bring my complete oral health back up to par after having to be cautious brushing around the gum graft area for so long. Given COVID, this final cleaning was put on hold because his office was focusing on procedures only, and did not want to risk staff and patient health doing things that could wait. I was fine with this and OK with pushing the final cleaning out to an undetermined later date. As of April 2020 I was furloughed from my job before being completely laid off over the summer. My dental coverage was active through a severance period that ended 12/18/20. I called to reschedule my cleaning with Dr. Choe's office early June, as well as my biannual dental cleaning with my family dentist which had also been cancelled indefinitely. Dr. Choe had not wanted me to go to my family dentist for my routine dental cleaning until after my final cleaning with him (and I completely understood the reasons, and thought it was a positive thing). My regular dentist reached out and the earliest I could get an appointment with their office was 10/1/20. I had a small cavity that was on hold to be filled, I was far overdo for a regular cleaning, and my insurance was running out, so I proceeded with scheduling the 10/1 appointment. After scheduling the appointment with my family dentist, Dr. Choe's office returned my call to set up my final cleaning appointment with them. I told his office about the appointment with my family dentist, and his staff member told me that if I was having my family dentist do a cleaning 10/1/20, it would be better to wait a few months before my intense cleaning with Dr. Choe (too much mouth trauma to do both cleanings too close together). I explained my dental insurance was running out and that I would no longer have dental insurance in January 2021. I was told by the staff member that it wouldn't matter since I had already prepaid for my entire episode of care with Dr. Choe, and we scheduled the appointment. Today I went in to Dr. Choe's office for my final cleaning. I was told it would be $150 for today. I told the his employee that it was my understanding that today's final cleaning was already paid for. I was told that it was not. I told the employee that if that was the case, I was not going to proceed with the final cleaning. She told me I had to pay $50 to cover the cost of cancelling today's appointment, and I did. I literally have notes from my phone call when my final cleaning was scheduled that say "insurance won't be an issue - appointment is already paid for". I never would have taken the appointment had I known there was going to be additional charges, and the person who scheduled my final cleaning for 1/11/21 knew this. The entire reason I signed on for the 1/11 appointment was because it was supposedly covered. Dr. Choe has a genuine, kind and caring demeanor. I can't see a difference in my gum line where it was grafted, but I guess time will tell. I am writing this review because I do not appreciate misinformation. Make sure you know the exact cost of his care before you move forward with his services. I bought myself this one star review with the $50 I shelled out to his office this morning.

Dr. Choi and his entire staff are extremely professional and understanding. The office is immaculate. Of all the medical and dental offices I have visited, Dr. Choi's office is number one in cleanliness and Covid compliance. Thank you Dr. Choe and Staff for being so great. I have recommended Dr. Choe to many friends and shall continue to do so.
