When you talk, Dr. Asay pays attention. He is well-known for being a great listener, allowing him to customize every treatment plan precisely. Dr. Asay understands the importance of having peace of mind. As a result, Chisholm Trail Dental Health is designed to be a warm, inviting environment. Our doctor and staff are friendly and helpful to every patient we see, making sure their requests are addressed. The physical design of the office is also meant to put you at ease. Most of our patients believe our office used to be a house because it reminds them more of a living room than it does a lobby. Dr. Asay provides gentle dental treatments as well, so your comfort is maintained throughout your visit.
Dr. Asays appreciation of patient relaxation does not prevent him from delivering high-quality treatments. Our doctor is committed to excellence in every aspect of dentistry. Patient comfort, expert knowledge, and a carefully honed skill set all work together to achieve Dr. Asays primary goal: giving you the best oral health care possible.
Ever since a young age, Dr. Mike had a strong feeling that he would go into a field where hed be able to take care of people. He had a good family friend who was a dentist and really enjoyed the family-friendly nature of the career he truly loved what he did! That inspired Dr. Mike to enroll in a pre-dental course, shadowing different professionals and watching them work. The rest, they say, is history. In fact, hes still in touch with Dr. McKnight, who was one of his mentors at that time.
Dr. Mikes college career started at Brigham Young University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and graduated with honors. He then chose to return to his native Dallas, attending dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry on an academic scholarship after scoring in the 99 th percentile on the Dental Admission Test. Outside of dental school, he is very passionate about continuing education and takes plenty of advanced training courses, focusing particularly on dental implant placement, Invisalign (he is a Preferred Provider) and ClearCorrect. At home, Dr. Mike and his wife Caroline have five children named Josh, Zach, Savannah, Bella, and Lily. When he isnt busy at work, he enjoys spending quality time with family, serving in his church, camping, hiking, swimming, and doing all sorts of outside activities. Hes also big into the Austin music scene and loves to play the guitar. His favorite local musicians are SPOON, Bob Schneider, and Granger Smith.

Barbs career in oral healthcare spans over 35 years so far, and during that time, shes proud to have met so many people who have become much more than patients theyre friends too! She studied at Ball State University (Go Cards!) and has been a member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers since 2004. Shes also undergone over 1500 hours of continuing education throughout her career.
Originally from Chicago, Barb has an amazing husband named John and three beautiful children named Ashley, Josh, and Jack. Shes also a grandma to an amazing toddler named Asher. She has several hobbies outside of work, including yoga, gardening, traveling, listening to live music, reading, vegan cooking, and spending time around animals.
Deanna has been working in oral healthcare for over two decades now, and shes extremely passionate about helping other people smile more in everyday life. Originally from Portland, she attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX.
Outside of work, Deanna is married to Bryan and has two sons named Derek and Devin. She spends her free time watching their sporting events, keeping up with college football, reading, and hanging out by the pool.
Reinette has been a valued member of our team since April 2021. She launched her second career after graduating from Collen Cllege in 2003 and is now a practicing clinical dental hygienist. Raised a military dependent, she has lived many places both at home and abroad. In additional, Reinette served our country as a contract dental hygienist with the US Army for 5 years in Germany. She is a big fan of Texas State Mens Basketball and has been known to appear on ESPN (at least the back of her head) when home games are being televised. Ask her about her grandchildren.
Laurie has been working in the dental field for 22 years. She graduated from Apollo College in Arizona, and was honored Valedictorian. She is extremely passionate about creating a positive and comfortable experience for every patient. The best part of her day is seeing patients leave our office feeling confident and happy with their smile.
Laurie is happily married to her amazing husband, Greg. They have 2 wonderful children, Jocelyn and Ashton. Laurie loves to spend her free time creating memories with her family, watching her childrens sporting events, reading, crafting and going to church.

I've been seeing Dr. Asay longer than I can remember. He and his staff are always extremely friendly and I always leave 100% happy! Barb at the front desk is awesome and superrrrr nice and transparent! Thanks to everyone at the office for being great.

I love Dr. Asay and his team! They always make me feel very comfortable. I'm giving this office 3 stars because of the receptionist, Barb. She has made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable on multiple occasions but today, I was tired of it and decided to post a review. She constantly will say passive comments when I schedule appointments or come into the office. "Will you actually be making it to your appointment?" Or today, "Oh we weren't sure if you were going to show up" and many more comments that have been said. Given, I have missed appointments and I am happy to pay the no show fee for the doctor/assistants time - I will own up to this. But it's very unprofessional to make someone feel bad for missing an appointment and constantly hold it over their head. I work as a receptionist also and I would never act this way towards a patient. I have a job and many things going on in my life, things happen. I've noticed similar reviews but I guess nothing has changed with her. I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for her poor customer service.

Writing as someone who really does NOT like going to the dentist for even a simple cleaning, I must say Dr. Asay and his team have truly changed my mind and given me very positive experiences. One of them even being a root canal. Dr. Asay was the first dentist in 5 years to properly identify a tooth that had been causing me years of pain and had me fixed up and feeling better very quickly. I am beyond thankful to be pain free and am actually looking forward to going back for my next cleaning and seeing the team. Barb is always very welcoming; and Lori working along side Dr. Asay made sure I was comfortable and understood every step as they worked along. I live south of Downtown Austin and don't mind making the drive one but when I have experiences like these on the other side. Thank you Chisholm Trail Dental Health!

Dr. Asay is super friendly, professional, knowledgeable, & his office is immaculate. But the 2 stars comes from his staff. They are not very kind & the front office person is very stern & unwelcoming. She wouldn't work with me when I needed to reschedule my appointment. I wasn't feeling well due to a cold coming on. All I wanted to do was reschedule (not cancel) my appointment but Barb told me no, otherwise she was going to charge me $75. I had to go to my appointment feeling awful & was congested. I was miserable. I can't come back because the way the staff has treated me. I have given it a few chances but unfortunately it just not working out.

I really enjoyed my experience with the team at Chisholm Dental!! The office was super clean and had a very strict Covid policy, which I appreciate!! The staff was warm and inviting. I had not been in to the dentist in a while due to having a baby and Covid, so I was nervous to find a new dentist. I just moved here so it was my first time at this office. I didn't feel judged but encouraged to come more regularly and they very nicely pointed out areas that need more attention. I would recommend to anybody:)

Left there pretty disappointed and shocked. Office staff did not advise me about billing And I was surprised at the amount they were asking me to pay. Thank goodness for my insurance who explained it all and told me that the dental office should have been more transparent. I felt very uncomfortable with the way they treated me. Will be canceling my future appointments

Chisolm Trail always gets me in and out of my appointment on time. The ladies cleaning my teeth are always polite, efficient, and gentle when working. Barb, at the front desk, is friendly and knowledgeable about any questions I have. The best part is that you never wait for the doctor to give a consult; he is always there when my cleaning is finished. A great practice with even better people who are cognizant of your time and health.

OMG! I absolutely love this place! I have reluctantly been going her for a couple of years. As much as I hate going to a dentist this is one I highly recommend. All the staff is very thoughtful, and always pleasant. Dr Assay is one of the most gentle dentist when it comes to shots and drilling. I have never had a bad experience at Chisholm Trail Dental!!!

I will give them two stars because I do like the office staff but I am not confident in the work I had done. I went in a few months ago to get some of my cavities filled and asked Dr. Assay about an area that had bothered me on one of my back teeth. He said he could fill it no problem but instead he left me with severe tooth pain and having to seek out another provider. He filled an area on my tooth that either should of not been filled or was done incorrectly Needless to say that unsecured filling came off my tooth when I flossed causing the enamel to go with it and leaving my tooth extremely sensitive. I went back after this happened and was then told that the tooth needed a root canal etc. but prior to him filling the tooth I didn't? Not sure if I trust that diagnosis or if it was someone trying to cover up the bad job they did on my filling. Since that appt my tooth has been more sensitive than it ever was!! I went in asking to correct something that aesthetically bothered me about the gap between my tooth and gum and left with a tooth with no enamel plus more pain. When I said something about finding a new dentist bc of the situation I was met with we are sorry!!! Nothing more and after the poor display of customer service I wouldn't recommend anyone else go there either!!!!
