Doctors Laura Perratto and Michael Chimenti are graduates of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and have had the privilege of serving the Smithtown community for more than thirty years. They are members of the Suffolk County Dental Society, the New YorkState Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
In our office we strive to always give superior service and friendly, caring help to all of our patients (including children). We take time to listen and understand your needs as a patient and we explain all procedures. We make every effort to treat our patients just like our own families. Our involvement in continuing education keeps us knowledgeable and current in the care we provide.
Janice, Sarah, Christine P., Christine L., Barbara, and Bonnie, are always ready to serve you. From helping with maximizing your insurance benefits to doing their best to keep you comfortable during your visit. You will find them warm, friendly and caring.
We hope this note finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, its both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies recommendations.

For those of you who fear the dentist please give Dr. Chimenti and his team a try. My first visit here I was on day 4 or 5 of splitting pain coming from a molar. Normally I'd wait and hope it went away and needless to say that didn't work well. After bringing me in for an exam they referred me to smithtown endodontics for a root canal, another office I'd recommend if you need a root canal. After the root canal was complete I had to make another appointment to get that tooth rebuilt. I put it off until the temporary filler started to grumble out of fear of the dentist. When i.finally went in Dr chimenti did the whole procedure without even using anesthetic and it was perfectly painless. I made a follow appointment to start tackling the many other issues I had and genuinely I didn't even feel him using the needle to apply the anesthetic. I'm now a few visits in and honestly I had one tooth that was in particularly rough shape that wasn't the most fun to have work on but everything else was stellar. It looks good and it was painless. I no longer walk into the dentist with my heart beating out of my chest and im highly unlikely to ever put off dental work again. I've recommend this office to all of my family and highly encourage anyone who is scared of the dentist to try this office!

Dr.Chimenti is a great dentist. He is always punctual and I have not had to wait for more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. He is thorough with his examination and under his care I have not had a major dental issue in the past 10 years. His staff is always courteous and flexible in booking appointments if you have scheudling conflicts. Thank you Dr.Chimenti and team!

I absolutely love this practice! After many years (20) of being faithful to another dentist and their practice I decided to go to the one I was taking my children to. It only took one cleaning and exam and I knew I had to switch. I never had such a intensive cleaning as I did with Christina the hygienist. I highly recommend her. Then when Dr. Perratto came in and gave me my exam, I was so taken back by the amount of care and concern she had toward me. Everything was so thorough that I knew that there was no turning back. I wish I would have known about them much sooner. I highly recommend this office.

My husband and I have been using Drs. Perratto and Chimenti for years and have recently added our teenager to the group. I have nothing but great things to say about our experience. Both dentists have a gentle touch and very thorough in their approach. Insurance has never been a problem, which always makes it easier. Christine, the dental hygienist is also wonderful, using a light touch to clean my teeth. I highly recommend this group for adults and children.

About 16 years ago, after moving from Nassau, Dr. Dobbs (our daughter's orthodontist) recommended Dr. Michael Chimenti. It was the best recommendation I have ever gotten. My family and I have been patients ever since. Dr. Chimenti is thorough, does great work, his fees are reasonable, and he doesn't do unnecessary work. He has a great personality and truly cares about his patients. I have recommended him to friends, who have raved about him as well. He is the 5th dentist i have used in my life, and by far the best! His staff are second to none, as well. Always courteous, competant and friendly
