What a joke of a hospital. Do yourself a favor and just go to Brookwood. Not much better but at least you'll be seen in a timely manner. Hospital is dirty and they put you in a 12x12 "Family Waiting Room" with 3 other sick family's. If you weren't sick before, surely you'll bring something home with you.

Horrible hospital, they will force court orders on you to "protect themselves and the hospital". ZERO patient care thoughts. They are money hungry! Dr. Wilson should NEVER practice medicine. She has ZERO bedside matter. She is rude, demeaning, makes parents feel like they don't know how to care for their own children. Dr Wilson talks down to people. I will not return to this hospital. I do not recommend this hospital at all. It's all about money money money. They don't care about your kids just themselves.

Everyone at Children's of Alabama from the Nurses, Doctors, Respiratory Therapists to everyone in between were amazing. We were in the PICU and then transfered to Pulmonalogy. They take the time to listen, explain, address your concerns, make you feel at ease, attend the rounds and work with you. I had great conversations with them and learned a lot. We ran into some issues within the hospital but never when it came to the care of my child. Courtney, Glenda and Annie from RT were amazing. They were very patient, taught me many things and held conversations during my times of unease. There were two very special RNs during our stay, Kelsey(day shift) and Sarah(night shift) that always went above and beyond and advocated for my daughter and celebrated our victories. I was at ease knowing they were there. Thank you from my whole heart.

BEWARE OF THIS HOSPITAL! They will FORCE A COURT ORDER if you don't agree with the doctor's "care" for YOUR CHILD!!! They will take your parental choice and rights away! Judge always agrees with the hospital. If you need expert care go to Children's Hospital of Atlanta NOT in Birmingham!! The lead doctors are rude, not compassionate, forceful. They will treat you as if you know nothing because they are doctors and your just a parent. There is NO HOUSEKEEPING, nasty dirty hospital, if you order food to your room it takes hours to arrive and is cold. Care staff are rude, act like she was 'doing me a favor getting supplies for my ill family member who was a patient ' but it's the care teams job description. Wish I never came to this hospital for care for my family member. If I could get NEGATIVE STARS I would!! -100

My son had a dental procedure in clinic 9 and everyone was so nice and supportive. All staff were careful to make sure my son was as comfortable as possible. DR. LUGO, a dentist from clinic 9, did the procedure and was the most kind hearted and friendly dentist Ive ever brought my children to. She made the experience especially smooth and upbeat; with kindness, thoroughness, smiles and being there to answer all questions. I knew my son was in great ha ds from start to finish. Thank you Dr Rizzo and staff.

Horrible and unsafe! We were on the ninth floor and it was horrible. The nurses were extremely rude. They did not attend to our daughter. The room was not clean. I would highly recommend finding another medical facility if possible.

It's not my goal to feel like the badgering parent, but you have to be to get help at Children's. I've had so many bad experiences after staying for 2 weeks and being back for another issue with my son. We were shoved into a back room in the ER and had to wait from 7:30 pm until midnight without being seen. My son was one month old with RSV. He was very dehydrated, and all they did was check his blood pressure and oxygen saturation. He didn't get an IV started until 12:30 am, and we had to stay for 4 days. If they had been proactive about hydrating him fast, he might not have had to have tube feeds and declined so fast.
