Office staff (one in particular) is incredibly rude & condescending. They mess up billing EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. & you are never right, they are. They use a regular tooth brush for a routine "cleaning" instead of the spinning dental brush, because of "germs during COVID". I do not recommend this practice.

I Absolutely love Dr. Cook. She is very old school approach with new school devices. She gave me multiple ways to treat my kids ( One of which at the time was 18 months ) I found her to be quite refreshing.I didn't want someone to beat around the bush with me. Prior going to her , We had a terrible experience with another Local Dentist. Our Five year old went to the Local Dentist three times before we called it quits after an incident with numbing and blisters. I know business must go on but they only cared about the money. Dr. Cook is amazing and she expects her staff to uphold the same. Others have said that she spoke down to them I can understand what your speaking of, BUT when my child is in the chair and crying because its something new the sense of urgency is there to hurry up with process- SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE THE REIGNS . She Will continue to see my kids because I like that she is straight forward about problems and doesn't make me feel terrible and it could really happen to anyone. I can not say more praises for her, the staff, insurance girls- I know I bugged them- Just everything about it. The cleanliness, Covid Protocol. Trust me. If you want the best for your children. Don't be afraid to reach out to them. ASK QUESTIONS. They want to answer them . Get a check up every 6 months!!

I have to take a moment to really praise our new dental office for the boys. They are absolutely AMAZING! They are so nice, completely kid focused and on their level. Two weeks ago our youngest (5 yo) got an abscessed tooth and had to have the tooth pulled. They did everything to make him comfortable and ensure it wasn't traumatic. At one point he felt the second injection and began to cry. They stopped everything and were so gentle and reassuring and gave him time to recover. I never felt like they were rushing him to get over it, even though they had a parking lot full of people. Afterwards, the dentist called me from home at 8pm to check and see how he was doing. They go beyond customer service to a genuine care about your child and you. I will drive an hour from here on out for everything dental for my kids. So, if you are in the Charlottesville area hands down check them out. They rock! Also, as a side note they have my approval for the steps they are taking to reduce covid exposure risks. Also, when covid started and they were forced to close they took all of their PPE supplies to UVA to help support me and my colleagues stay safe. #AmazingDentist #healthcareheros #thebestofthebest

Crystal did an outstanding job cleaning my preteen daughters teeth. She's so patient and kind and makes her feel at ease. Harold was amazing relating to my teenage daughter and did a fabulous job with her cleaning. I love how Dr. Cook is proactive and thorough. She treats my children like they are her own. The front desk did such a great job getting me appointments quickly and at a time that fits in my schedule. Even though my kids didn't see Dr Lunka he greeted us and made us feel welcome.

would give no star if it was available. My son is special needs and was already scared of the dentist from the start, they were not accommodating and said that next time I would be charged a 75.00 dollar fee if he couldn't sit still! I never went back after that. They are all about money!

I had a scheduled appointment at 12:30 and didn't leave the office till 1:45. The service was great. The lack of communication was horrible. When checking in the office assistant should have noticed me about the delay in service. No one communicated anything until it was time to check out. After checking out I learned that there was just one doctor there. I would have liked to know beforehand about the delay.

Went for an issue for my daughter, but felt rushed and not real concern for the issue at hand. More worried about cleaning which was just an add on to main appointment.

Hello! There are 2 things I need: 1) receipt for $60 of charges and 2) explanation/description of what medical procedure has been scheduled for the 6/1/2020 return appointment. I called and left a VM on the office manager extension. Thank you!

I called and cancelled my children appointment. I explained that I wasn't feeling well and to keep everyone safe during this pandemic. I would be canceling their appointments. The following week I received a statement in the mail. I was charged 150.00. When I called Children Dentistry. I was told I was charged due to a cancelation fee. Not one single time was I told initially I would be charged this fee when canceling. It would have been nice and professional to know upfront. What's alarming to me it that this business specializes in oral medical/ health. It know CDC guidelines and for them to charge me a fee due to me following public health guidelines is ridiculous and unsafe.

I knew going in it wouldn't be an enjoyable visit for my daughter or me but the amount of time she spent in the papoose was ridiculous (an hour) listening to her scream and struggling while they seemed so unorganized and unprepared. The hygienist we had was not good not patient at all. Dr. Cook herself though was kind and did the work as fast and safely as possible. Overall I would not recommend unless you want your child to fear dentist visits.

I'm not one to right negative reviews but I find that this is absolutely necessary. After my visit with my 3 children I will NEVER return here again. Let me just start with saying that it is absolutely disgusting how dr. Cook talks to the hygienists, it took everything in me not to say something! I don't know how anyone in there right mind could speak to there employees in that manner in front of patients, It nauseates me to think how she probably talks to them behind closed doors! I also don't feel comfortable with the treatment plan she was planning for my children I get a major feeling that all she cares about is $ which is why my children are already scheduled for exams at a different office. Don't bring your children here unless you feel comfortable with hygienists being belittled and talked down to right in front of your children,it sets a terrible example.

They want money. They'll do anything to get it. Beware! We went there with our twins to do a yearly check up, with cleaning., which is included in the checkup. We made sure our insurance covered this practice. Our insurance includes two free yearly visits (cleaning) for each of the twins, and this would have been the first for them this year. Lo and behold, we just got a bill for almost $300 for the whole thing! Apart that it is supposed to be all covered, in the bill, they say the insurance company was billed for the services. I logged into the insurance website to check how many claims were submitted by these guys: Zero, nada, zip! Really? Did they just lie in the bill? They simply ignored the insurance, and went right after us! Unbelievable. I will call on Monday to try to sort it out, but it seems it's just another crooked dentist practice waiting to sink their teeth (no pun intended) into patients wallets. I will look somewhere else from now on.
