Courtney joined our team in 2006 as a dental assistant. She worked tirelessly to make our patients feel comfortable and safe. Over the years, she grew to love learning about teeth. Dr. Reddy and the wonderful staff influenced her to become a dental hygienist.

While working at the office, she got her Bachelors in Chemistry at Saint Thomas Aquinas College and then went on to NYU to get her degree in Dental Hygiene. She has a true love for children, and as a hygienist, she hopes to pass on to them a love for coming to the dentist.

Since joining the Childrens Dentistry of the Palisades team in 2005, I have been dedicated to helping our young patients learn the value of good oral health. I absolutely adore working with children, and find it very fulfilling to help kids understand the importance of good oral health and nutrition.

It is exciting for me to meet children at a young age and help shape their ideas toward the dentist! Children are afraid of the unknown, and I always explain what I am doing during any given procedure to help them feel comfortable.

I aspire to create a dental home in our practice for our patients and their families.My philosophyis to createa warm, nurturing environment in which we provide the best pediatric dental care for our young patients. Kids are fun and full of spirit and make me smile and laugh each and every day. I am always amazed by how well they get through procedures and how resilient they are. Adults can surely learn from them!

Dental treatment can be uncomfortable for some, but I hope that I am helping my patients feel better and more relaxed about their dental care. I also enjoy meeting the parents and answering any questions they may have with regard to their childs oral health, teeth development, oral habits (thumb sucking, pacifier use, etc.), speech issues, and dental trauma from falls or accidents. I also specialize in treating special-needs children; it is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

I completed my undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, and received a bachelor's degree in behavioral biology. I pursued my studies at New York University College of Dentistry, where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2002. My training continued through New York Medical College at Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan, where I completed my general practice residency.

Later, I would pursue advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, where I was awarded my certificate in pediatric dentistry. Licensed in the state of New York to practice dentistry and to provide dental treatment under general anesthesia in a hospital setting, I am also a board-certified pediatric dentist, having earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2007. I am also a clinical assistant professor at New York University College of Dentistry and spend a day a week teaching dental students and pediatric dental residents in the Pediatric Dentistry department.

In order to provide the best for our patients, I take continuing education courses to maintain and advance my certification. To maintain my licensure, preserve my professional memberships, and keep my board status with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, I am obligated to complete a certain number of credits in pediatric dentistry by attending conferences and lectures every year. This continuing education allows me to stay knowledgeable on the latest developments within the field of pediatric dentistry to better care for my patients.

I am very passionate about giving back to my community. In addition to visiting pre-school and elementary classrooms throughout the school year to promote the importance of dental health, I am also involved with Autism Speaks and United Hospice of Rockland.

As an Indian-American, I also enjoy being part of my South Asian community and promoting my culture and heritage. Lastly, I have initiated a desensitization program at our practice that brings special-needs children on a monthly basis to help them feel more comfortable with the dentist. The rationale is that many special-needs children, such as children on the autism spectrum, do very well with routine and frequency. I find that after these monthly visits, a once-fearful child can become very cooperative and appreciate the oral care he or she receives.

During my time away from the office, I enjoy working out and staying healthy.I also have a deep love for all things related to food! This includes creating new recipes and trying new restaurants in the city. I am passionate about exploring the world: I have traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, India, Thailand, South Africa, Belize, Panama, Costa Rica, and Australia, and am always researching my next destination.
