As a dentist, it means the world to me to know that I am making a difference in the lives of children. Our office is a supportive and encouraging environment, where children are able to prosper, grow, and develop a passion and love for visiting the dentist. I enjoy taking in a child that is anxious and fearful of the dentist, instilling confidence in them, and watching them grow into a good adult dental patient. Dr. Kennell

Dr. Melissa Kennell has been practicing in the Lakes Region since 2006. Graduating Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Psychology from Southern Methodist University of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Kennell continued her education at the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating Magna cum Laude and in the top ten of her class.

Dr. Kennell regularly attends continuing education courses nationwide to stay abreast of the current techniques in the field of childrens dentistry. In addition to her membership with the American Dental Association, Dr. Kennell is the current President of the New Hampshire Dental Society.

It is endlessly fulfilling to know how much of an effect we as pediatric dentists have on our patients and ensuring we provide quality and compassionate care to our community. Children deserve to have a beautiful smile and we hope to instill a sense of care and compassion every time a child comes into our practice. We hope to make a difference in every patient we encounter and hope our education on proper dental hygiene is something they take with them throughout their life. Dr. Matt

Dr. Matthew Smith received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and a Masters Degree in Oncological Sciences from the University of Utah. While he began his post-graduate work in the scientific research field, Dr. Matt quickly realized that he liked to work with people rather on projects. Changing career paths, he graduated from the University Of California San Francisco School Of Dentistry in 2004 with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He earned his Pediatric Dental Certificate from Childrens Hospital Michigan in Detroit.

Dr. Matt is a member of the New Hampshire Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Dental Association, as well as board certified through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Matt grew up in the Monterey Bay Area of California. He, his wife, and their two kids have lived in Plymouth for nearly eight years. Living in northern New Hampshire, Dr. Matt loves the outdoors, including swimming, white water kayaking, biking, hiking, and playing sand volleyball.

It is a privilege to be a pediatric dentist. I love that I can educate and treat patients, resulting in beautiful smiles and healthy mouths, all while making the dental experience special and fun. Plus, the kids keep me feeling young and enthusiastic about life! Dr. Tim

Dr. Tim Smith received his BA in Biology from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. After his undergraduate studies, Dr. Tim followed in the footsteps of both his father and brother (our very own Dr. Matt) to become a dentist and graduated from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He continued his training at Childrens Hospital of Michigan for his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Tim is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the New Hampshire Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Originally from Santa Cruz, California, Dr. Tim currently resides in Plymouth with his dog, Bessie. He enjoys hiking, snowboarding, wrestling, soccer, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and trying new foods. Working with children, especially kids with special healthcare needs, really brings joy to my life. Kids are so joyful and really want to be helpful. Helping them to have a great experience with the dentist as a child helps to set them up for a healthy and happy relationship with their future dentist, and I find that very gratifying. Dr. Kremser

Dr. Jonathan Kremser attended Millersville University for his undergraduate studies where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology and was the team captain for the Marauders baseball team. After his undergraduate studies, he attended Virginia Commonwealth Universitys dental school in Richmond, Virginia. Following dental school, he took a residency at St. Christophers Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he specialized in treating children and their families.

In addition to being board certified through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Kremser is an active member of the New Hampshire Dental Society, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Kremser enjoys spending time with his kids at their sporting events and being a helpful neighbor and friend. He is passionate about all things outdoors, including canoeing, fishing, boating, hunting, fishing, and hiking with his family.

As the only infant to adolescent focused dental practice in the Lakes Region, Dr. Melissa Kennell, Dr. Matthew Smith, Dr. Timothy Smith, and Dr. Jonathan Kremser believe seeing the dentist can be a fun and positive experience.

At Children's Dentistry, you and your child are greeted with a warm and comfortable atmosphere that lasts throughout your visit, which helps reduce any anxiety your child may have. Terrible customer service. I responded yes to all appointment notifications and I show up after taking day off and driving 1 1/2 hours to find out the canceled my appointment for no reason. Then only option was to try another day like I hadn't lost 300 dollar's already.

I am thrilled we found Children's Dentistry! They are wonderful! I take my daughter to their North Country office, where they are always kind and patient with her. She has special needs, which include sensory processing challenges, so the dentist is a potentially scary place for her. However, Miss Maddie (her regular hygienist) and Dr. Jon go out of their way to make her feel safe and welcome. They see her frequently (at my request) and move at her pace, working diligently to make her comfortable in the chair and with the dental tools, and as a result she is progressing well. I anticipate her allowing them to clean her teeth soon, and that will be a huge milestone for us! The facility is beautiful too--decorated in a mountain and forest theme, it's super kid-friendly and even has an awesome bubble wall and an electric train that runs along the top of an examination room! My daughter loves the environment. She especially loves choosing a prize from their large selection at the end of each visit; the balloons are her favorite. Each time we go, I am always pleased and my daughter is always happy. I foresee long-term, top-quality treatment for my child at Children's Dentistry, and as a special needs parent, it is such a relief to have found this amazing dental home! I recommend Children's Dentistry to all families, and especially to those families who have children with extra needs. Children's Dentistry will be a great fit!

As the other reviews said, the atmosphere is great & totally oriented towards keeping kids happy & relaxed. Not mentioned as much & just as important, the quality of care is very good also. The hygienists are gentle & the dentists are right on top of things. The only thing stopping that 5th star is the admin/ office area is a little below par. A few years ago it was quite bad- misscheduled appointments, never get a human on the phone, wrong info on file, etc. I do think they know this though & have seen them working to improve the situation. I would say admin is not bad now (2018) & probably continue to improve. & everything else about this place is Excellent! *2022 Edit: as expected admin improved (& rolled with the pandemic punches very smoothly too!) - you all earned this 5th star awhile back. Fixed.

I have 2 kids that go here and they love the games in the waiting room although we never have to wait long. We always call when running late and they are kind. The hygenists and dentists put my kids at ease. I would reccomend them.

It seems this place used to be amazing but has gone downhill in the past few years. My daughter was seen for the first time at the age of 14. Like every other dentist, they make new appointments for patients at the end of each appointment that they are seen. My daughter had an appointment today, which I had to reschedule because I sprained my ankle. They have changed computer systems multiple times and did not see an appointment for her today, which has been in my calendar for months. They were completely confused and saw that they were wrong about previous appointments, which happens sometimes when you rely solely on technology, that's okay. But their response wasn't that maybe there might be an error on their part or that she has been a patient of theirs so they will try to help in any way. Their response was that their computer system which has already admittedly made errors says that she hasn't been seen in just over a year so she needs to find a new dentist. That's it. That's how they treat their patients. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Find a dentist that cares about their patients, your children. I'm disgusted.

We have informed them multiple times that our daughter reports the nitrous giving her anxiety so a lower dose should be given. Despite this, that information always seems to be news to them even after requesting it put into the chart. Worse yet, this last visit they put the nitrous on her and walked away for almost a half an hour, leaving the Hygienist to supervise while nothing but waiting happened because the doctor stepped out to work on another patient.

FYI there's a dog in the office that growled and showed teeth to my daughter, staff brushed it off with "Oh, she does that once in a while"...

I had to edit my initial review which I posted after my daughter's first visit. It is unfortunate, but well deserved. A single sentence to describe this place: OVERLOADED AND APATHETIC. The first red flag for me is the revolving door or Dentists. After a filling was put in during my daughter's first visit, it became apparent that it wasn't done correctly by the amount of pain it caused her as the weeks went by. Long story short: 5 visits and 3 dentists later, the filling might be fixed now or it might not. I have a sister who went through a similar situation with these people. Additionally, the office staff are inhospitable and apathetic. If you have kids then you know that sometimes getting everyone out the door is a difficult task. We arrived for our appointment 8 minutes late and due to this we were told by one of the office staff that if we were ever late again our family would be "discharged from our service". Thanks for that. Especially considering that every time I have been punctual I end up waiting a solid 10 minutes to be seen anyway.

On 5/13/22 I paid this company $87 for nitrous. They are saying they have no record of that. Then, on 5/19/22, they put a resin filling in my child's mouth which they KNEW and had a note on her account NOT to do. Then they charged me $299 for it. I want a full refund of the $299 composite filling. They then told me since I told them I felt like they were taking advantage of me, that they would not do anymore of the work on my child's treatment plan. Unreal. Completely unprofessional. I would strongly suggest finding another dentist.

Refused grievance policy process when requested and the practice is considering children in another home part of my household. I had a shared custody arrangement and the other home had 3 children who weren't mine. Apparently they missed appointments. The other parents children missing appointments counted towards my household. Now my 2 month old is being refused future service when I have never established care there or gone to any appointments because the other parents home and my home were considered one household. I have never established care with them before and this is my first experience of the practice. Its been miserable.

We were greeted by Walker and he really was the star of the show for my daughter. He was so kind and gentle and patient. He made my daughter so comfortable being at the dentist that she actually wanted to go back again afterwards because she felt so comfortable around him. He wasn't the doctor but most of her interactions were with him and he made it such a nice experience for her to enjoy seeing a dentist. I would absolutely recommend coming here just for the fact that my daughter is scared of doctors and dentists and people like him help little kids so much encouraging them that they have people there that care about them and their feelings. Thank you, Walker for being such a wonderful person.

My son has been a patient here for years, we hadn't heard anything from them in quite a while so I called to make an appointment (no reminders, no communication from them whatsoever) today, I was told that my son is no longer a patient there because it has been over a year since he has been seen he is now consideres a new patient and they aren't accepting patients over the age of 10, you are a children's dentist, and you don't accept children over the age of 10. All of the sudden? No recommendations for other local dentists just good luck in finding another dentist that deals with children in an area with one children's dentistry, YOU. Super disappointed with the absolute lack of communication and the insanity that a children's dentist maxes out at 10 years old.
