I cant say enough about how great they are with my son . He was so nervous but that went away quickly when Dr.Dihn explained everything she was going to do and made sure he didnt have any questions . The assistant Arianna put on a movie and talked to him to keep him distracted and calm. He walked out smiling and happy and I couldnt ask for a better experience at the dentist . Thank you guys for taking such good care of him!

At Childrens Dentistry of Charlottesville, we believe that all children deserve the best dental care possible. From top to bottom, our entire staff is dedicated to ensuring that children with special needs get the dental care they need.

Our dentists are compassionate and respectful of your childs needs and sensitivities. We make use of the latest advancements in special needs dentistry to make your childs visit relaxing and comfortable.

When it comes to dentistry, every child has their own unique needs. When working with special needs patients, we may recommend the use of laughing gas (nitrous oxide), conscious sedation, or general anesthesia. These techniques make it possible for your child to safely receive the treatment he or she needs without unnecessary stress.

We treat every child as the unique individual that they are. Well take his or her physical coordination, emotional state, ability to follow a dentists instructions, and your feelings as a parent or guardian into account before we make a recommendation for sedation dentistry. And well continue to evaluate your childs needs as he or she grows up. Some children who require general anesthesia at a young age will need less sedation (or none at all) in the future.

Called to schedule an appointment for a Wednesday or Friday in Late July/Early August for my sons visit to start school and received one 11/04/22 @ 1:15. I was called 11/3/22 at 2pm to let me know I missed my appointment. When I told her no, I wouldn't have scheduled a Thursday appointment she lets me know they have a "one no show policy" and she'd be happy to schedule me in March??? She started to tell me that the system would have text me and they says "hmm it looks like the text didn't go out" I received 0 phone call, email, or text reminders. I asked for a supervisor and she put me on hold and came back and said the supervisor wanted to let me know that she wasn't available but aware and she would try to get my son back on the schedule sooner. She then offers a late February appointment time. They really could care less! Edited to add: if they actually cared like the reply stated they would have called to rectify the situation! No call, nothing!

Dr. Abraham is a new dentist at the practice and this week my son (5 years old) went back three consecutive days for dental work. He never complained about having to go back several days in a row. All the staff here is amazing. This a phenomenal dentistry for children!

My daughter has health issues, one day she could be completely fine the next she's down and missing school. Point is since she has apparently missed 2 appointments, she's denied medical care at this dentist! She currently has an abscess on her tooth and they will not take her !!

Most of my 4 year old niece's teeth needed to be removed or fixed. This is all due to her previous home situation. Her teeth have been hurting for months now and we were referred here due to the fact that they needed to sedate her to work on them. Her appoinent had to be rescheduled twice due to the office. They called to reschedule- one was from the snow and I can't remember the second reason. But they called us to cancel-we never cancelled. The third appointment she had- my mother (who was going to be driving her up there) was in the hospital and couldn't take her so her other legal guardian was going to take her. Their car broke down on the way up there and they had to cancel the appointment. After talking to the receptionist-she wouldn't let them even schedule an appointment without faxing over custody paperwork so we did that. Finally-we called to make sure they got the paperwork and the receptionist was extremely rude and said that the dentist didn't want to see her and they wouldn't be making an appointment. The reasoning is because they had to reschedule twice and they don't do it a third time. She didn't care that we didn't reschedule the first two times-it was their office. We only canceled one time or if something that was our if our control. Also. Why make us go out of our way to fax paperwork over if you weren't going to make an appointment? My Neice has been through alot and we are trying to get her life back on track. It's such a shame that the receptionist was so hateful to us about the whole situation.
