I love interacting with children: helping a child through a dental visit is a great privilege. Having an anxious child have a pain- and worry-free visit is the best. Having a child trust me is a great reward. I am excited by the opportunity to coach kids through dental treatment, so they succeed.

Our patients, and their families, are some of the best people in the world. It is an absolute privilege to serve them. God has blessed me with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide gentle, effective, encouraging care for children: I love helping each believe in themselves and understand that we love them for who God made them.

Our office excels at delivering the service that each child needs in the manner their parents prefer. We are skilled communicators, explaining everything in an understandable, non-threatening manner, so children and their families understand what will happen, and why.

I have practiced pediatric dentistry for over ten years. I chose the field as it is the ideal mix of hands-on and hands-off medicine, requiring a surgeons touch in non-life threatening situations, with the knowledge of a pediatrician.

I attended Auburn University, graduating with a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering. I then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. There I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Medicine and then my Pediatric Specialty Certificate.

Dental school, and the rigorous training in the specialty of pediatric dentistry, gave me a solid foundation of caring for childrens dental needs. That said, the field is constantly advancing and I stay at the forefront of the latest techniques and dental knowledge to benefit my patients.

I grew up in Moulton, Alabama, and have lived in Selma for about ten years, now. Dr. Rayne Russell Osborn, my wife and partner in the practice, and I have three sons: Lane, Holden, and Luke. We also have a Chocolate Lab, Amos.

My number one job is being a very present, Christian father to my sons. If Im not in the office, I can usually be found at home with the boys or out fishing with them. We are also active members of Bluejeans Church in Selma, a church that welcomes people from all walks of life.

Rayne, I, and our practice, support many local organizations, including the YMCA, Blackbelt Benefit Group, and pretty much every school within 40 miles. A community is only as strong as its members. Being involved, giving to, and supporting each other makes Selma and the Blackbelt region a better place for everyone.

I am thankful to be a dentist. It is immensely rewarding to know that I am doing what God lead me to do: I knew, when I was eight years old, this was my calling. It is a bonus that I work alongside my husband each day, and that we get to see our patients grow and mature into wonderful young adults!

Born and raised in Selma, I am happy to be part of our community. I love serving our patients and their families, and am honored to spend time with each. I love to lead a patient from dental fear to a place of comfort and peace through the visit. That is true of their parents, as well: everyone at our practice is responsive to a familys desires and concerns, and works to set them at ease.

When a nervous child finishes a visit with a big smile, and tells us they liked being here, I am thrilled. I want children to always feel safe, heard, and valued and to know we love them as if they were our own.

I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Science. I then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, where I received my Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

Dentistry is an exciting, ever-changing field, with new technology and techniques constantly being researched, developed, and integrated into patient care. Staying abreast of the latest innovations, and incorporating the best into our practice, allows me to continue providing the best treatment and results for our patients.

I appreciate living in and raising our children in my hometown. Dr. James Osborn, my husband, and I have three energetic sons Lane, Holden, and Luke as well as a dog, Amos (yes, I am in the minority!) who keep us busy.

Being with my family is my greatest passion. I also enjoy running, reading, and baking. We love our church, Blue Jean, in Selma, and love to travel and experience Gods creation in exploring new places, too.

Seeing a need in thecommunity for easily accessible specialty care, Children's Dentistry of Central Alabama partnered with Dr. David Ashleyin 2018 to offer wisdom teeth removal. Dr. Ashley is a high skilled oral surgeon who comes to the Children's Dentistry of Central Alabama office with his team once to twice a month. Children's Dentistry isproud to make this option available in Selma, asit saves hours of time for our patients who would otherwise drive out-of-town for consults and procedures. Through this partnership, Children's Dentistry has been able to expand the high level of quality carepatients have come to know and expect.

Dr. David Ashley is originally from Arkansas but moved to Alabama to pursue a career in Medicine. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he became a Doctor of Medicine and Medical Dentistry. He is a licensed physician and dentist in the state of Alabama. Dr. Ashley also holds certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS.

Dr. Ashley completed his Oral and Maxillofacial residency at UAB, and has also conducted medical research with UAB, NIH, and NASA. His oral and maxillofacial training includes pathology, TMJ disorders, cosmetic surgery, facial trauma surgery, reconstructive surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, and general anesthesia.

Our team at Childrens Dentistry of Central Alabama works tirelessly to care for each child as if they were our own. The staff accommodates any patient, on any day no matter how busy we are because no child in need should ever be turned away.

Each member of our team welcomes every child and their family with love, patience, and compassion. Our team embodies the love of Christ, daily, and we could not be more proud of the care and love they offer.

Welcome to Childrens Dentistry of Central Alabama! My name is Blair and, as our Practice Administrator, I oversee our human resources, patient and employee management, IT, marketing, and special projects.

I love working in an office that is blessed with amazing leadership and a team that is talented, dedicated, and positive. Everyone is willing to do whatever is asked to keep us running at full speed, which is great for our young patients, their families, and our wonderful community!

Outside the office, I treasure time with my husband and four girls. I love to run, cook, do home improvement projects, and travel. I spend lots of time with loved ones and am actively involved with my church.

I had the pleasure of joining Childrens Dentistry of Central Alabama in 2013 after graduating from the hygiene program at UAB. I help our little patients learn how to take care of their teeth at home, teach parents how to establish good habits at home, and provide gentle cleanings to keep their smiles bright!

It was my daughters first dentist appointment. She was so happy with her balloon flower one of the techs made her to match her shirt. Everyone was super nice and friendly. I think this was the fastest I've ever gotten in and out of a dentists office with actual good service in my life.
