At Childrens Dentistry of Amarillo, we are committed to ensuring that your child is comfortable visiting while embracing healthy oral habits from the start. Our commitment to providing excellence in pediatric dentistry starts with our team of caring and passionate dental professionals, like our own Associate Dentist, Dr. Ben R. Padilla.
Dr. Padillas interest in dentistry sparked after spending time in his uncles dental practice. Observing his uncles work in the office and helping out in the lab as a kid solidified Dr. Padillas desire to become a dentist. At West Texas State University, Dr. Padilla earned a BBA in Finance. He then attended West Texas A&M University to study biology and chemistry. Dr. Padilla completed dental school at the University of Texas Dental Branch San Antonio. As an added bonus to our practice, Dr. Padilla is nitrous-oxide certified.
Dr. Padilla holds himself to a high standard when it comes to patient care. One of the things he finds most rewarding is seeing his fellow panhandle neighbors on a daily basis, helping them navigate their dental concerns. Dr. Padilla's personal philosophy is to be kind, compassionate, and caring. And while his profession demands that he educate and treat patients, his mission is to be empathetic and attentive too!
When Dr. Padilla has free time, he enjoys spending time with his nephews, outdoor activities, such as running, biking, hiking, and visiting state parks. He also enjoys a good movie with a big tub of popcorn (and never forgets to floss right after)!

Jamie Landers was born and raised right here in Amarillo, Texas. She attended college for nursing before making the switch over to dental hygiene. She got her associates degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene at Amarillo Junior College in 2012. Her career switch allowed for more time with her own family, while still getting to enjoy the hands-on aspect of patient care.
Jamie not only plays an active role in our office as a dental hygienist but is involved in other roles as well. She is a project manager for the community and dental programs for elementary schools in Amarillo and Canyon. She also acts as a mentor and director for high school and college student externships. If that wasnt enough, her work also includes time spent as a radiation safety officer.
What she loves most about the job are the relationships she gets to build with students and parents. It gives her the opportunity to show great kindness, patience, and genuine concern for parents who are giving us their trust and confidence.
She has been a hygienist for 7 years and has enjoyed all the opportunities it has provided her to be more involved with her community. Through CDA she has been able to provide dental programs for the majority of elementary schools in Amarillo and Canyon. When Jamie isnt wearing all these different hats, she enjoys spending time with her husband Josh, their 5 kids, and friends. You might find her at her kids events, out trail running, hiking, or traveling with friends and family!
Emily is originally from Dimmitt, Texas and has been on the team since 2007. She is a Registered Dental Assistant with a host of certifications including CPR, Radiology, Nitrous, Sealant, and Coronal Polishing. Teeth were always the first thing she noticed on people so she decided why not find a career that lets her stare at them all day? She is an invaluable member of the team as she assists Dr. Metcalf with treatment, fastbraces, lumineers, and office bleaching.
She knows how scared, unsure, and even combatant kids are when they go to the dentist. So she finds it rewarding to be able to help gain their trust and provide a positive experience for them and their parents. When shes not at the office providing great care she stays busy with her daughters activities and loves to be outdoors with her family! She believes friends are a bonus and that she has been blessed with the best.
Leticia is an Amarillo native, born and raised! She attended River Road High school and Frank Phillips College. She has been a valuable member of our team since 2013. She was always a people person who loved laughter and smiles, so what better field to work in than the dental field! What she loves most about working at CDA is that everyone is like one big family here. Each person brings something awesome to the team.
The most rewarding thing is the relationships she has built with the patients and their families. It is her hope that it has made a positive impact on their lives as it has done for hers. When shes not working she likes to have fun by spending time with her kids and husband. They enjoy going to the lake, camping and riding fast on their boat. On the weekends youll find her doing hair and makeup for her friends and playing softball.
Tracie was born in Pampa grew up in Fritch, Texas where she lived next door to her dentist. She always enjoyed going to see him and it was these experiences that led her to a career in dentistry! She would go on to apply to the Amarillo College Dental Hygiene program while still a senior in high school at Sanford-Fritch. She would graduate with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science with certifications in Nitrous Monitoring and RDH. In our office, she is involved with patient care as well as educating both parents and patients.
What she loves about working here is watching all the children grow up. She loves seeing the children who are scared when they first walk in the door become happy and confident when they walk out. She also has a soft spot for special needs patients and finds it rewarding to work with them. For fun, Tracie enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, and going to the movies.
