He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1998 from Baylor College of Dentistry, then a two-year Certificate in Pediatrics from the University of Texas Health Science center in Houston. He is certified in IntraOral Sedation and adheres to high standards of care in his sedation monitoring and emergency equipment. Dr. Poorman is a member of the Texas Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Mark Benage is from Longview, TX, and received his education in the Lone Star State. He attended UTA, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. From there, he completed dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. He furthered his dental education with an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency and continues his education by taking advanced continuing education courses focusing on implant dentistry, 3rd molar surgery, IV sedation, and periodontal surgery.
Dr. Benage is more than just a qualified dentist. He also has chosen to serve his community and country in the military. He spent seven years in the US Army, and later joined the Air Force. At Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Dr. Benage served as the emergency and IV sedation provider as well as the life-support chair for the hospital. Dr. Benage separated from the Air Force in July 2017 and moved back to his wifes hometown of Cleburne, Texas. Dr. Benage provides wisdom teeth removal surgery under IV sedation.

About six months ago we made a dentist switch to Children's Dentistry of Abilene. We couldn't be happier. My kiddo has been traumatized going to the dentist but not here. The doctors and dental assistants have an amazing rapport with the kiddos. They are so good at what they do my daughter didn't even realize she was getting a shot in her mouth. The dentist office is just geared toward and for kiddos with TVs in the ceiling, toys, and electronic readily available. We are extremely happy with the services and it's worth the hour drive for us.

The staff and Dr. Poorman were so sweet and friendly. Leticia was so helpful and answered all my questions! I was very pleased with this place. So glad I chose this dentist office for my kids!

Always been a great place took my granddaughter today the dental hygienist yonya told me to not use Crest use Colgate but the dentist gives us Crest I'm not understanding this cause it goes against the last three years we went there said she had alot of plack due to bad toothpaste and bad brushing I scrub her teeth three times a day. Told her i buy her minted crest not bubble stuff and she told me Colgate no more Crest

My oldest son has a surgery scheduled for tomorrow and I am certain that everything will work out just fine. Leticia, the Day Surgery Coordinator, is kind, patient, and diligent. I cannot say enough nice things about her handling of the matters at hand. If everyone else does their job half as good as she does her, we are STILL in GREAT hands.

From my experience about my son if they want to reschedule its fine if you need to reschedule its a problem to them I have found a better place for my son would not recommend this place !!!they pick and choose who they wanna see !!!

The entire staff go out of their way to show their kindness toward me and my children consistently. They are intentional to make our dental visit thorough and fun for the kids. They have always been warm and friendly. We have never had a problem with scheduling or rescheduling appointments at anytime. In fact, they work hard to find a time for all of my children to be seen at the same time seamlessly.

My children look forward to going to the dentist...as a child I cried and dread the word dentist because of such horrible experiences. This office makes the children feel relaxed and welcomed. Great staff!

My 6 year-old son enjoyed his first visit to this location. The staff was very friendly and they made my son feel comfortable to be at the dentist office. I recommend your children to be seen at Children's Dentistry of Abilene.

We love Children's Dentistry of Abilene. The whole staff is so nice and very professional. The Dental Assistants there are All super sweet and very informative to the kids. Breaking it down to the level of understanding that the kids can understand.. I've used this dentist through out all my children's dental needs and would highly recommend them to you.

Staff is always friendly. The dentist explained everything that was happening in my sons mouth. We did not feel rushed and loved that he was the only patient at his time of the appointment.
