At Childrens Dentistry, we combine years of experience with a full range of services and a positive, welcoming atmosphere in order to provide children and patients with special needs with excellent dental care. Our caring pediatric dentists and team are dedicated to helping your child enjoy a lifetime of smiles. We work hard to create an environment where they feel comfortable and where both children and parents can learn good oral habits that lead to healthy smiles.
Dr. Mark Nelson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah before attending the University of Oklahoma for dental school. He graduated from dental school in 1982 and completed his pediatric residency at Oregon Health Science University in 1984. He then returned to Utah and has been practicing in theDavis Countyarea since that time. As a pediatric dentist, his goal is to provide the best possible experience for both children and parents, and to treat each child he meets the way that their parents want them to be treated.
Dr. Nelson completes continuing education courses each year to remain up-to-date with the latest treatment techniques. He completed a post-graduate certification in Orthodontics through the American Straight Wire Orthodontic Association in 1985, and in 1991 became a board-certified pediatric dentist through the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
Additionally, he served as the Program Direction of Pediatric Dental Residency at Primary Childrens Hospital from 1991-1994. He is also an Operation Smile TeamPediatric Dentistand has traveled all over the world to provide pediatric and orthodontic care to children.
Dr. Treagan White grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Dillingham, Alaska. He moved to Utah when he enrolled at Utah State University to study Business Administration and Chemistry. After earning his degree he moved to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa for dental school. While there, he met his wife who played on the University of Iowa Womens Soccer team.
They continued on in Iowa City when Dr. White was accepted into the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Pediatric Dentistry Program. This residency is considered one of the top pediatric dental programs in the country and has a focus on pediatric behavior management, treatment of individuals with special needs, hospital dentistry, sedation dentistry, and orthodontics.

We absolutely love coming to Children's Dentistry! We have seen both Dr. Mark and Dr. Adam and they are both truly meant to work with children. My kids actually get excited to go to the dentist!! Everyone in the office is amazing and so warm and welcoming.

I called to ask if they accept Medicaid & they do! So I made an appointment for my daughter, which was her first visit to the dentist! My daughter absolutely loved the whole experience & the set they had for her was definitely thoughtful. They had screens up on the ceiling & head phones, so kids could watch something. Their entire office is super kid friendly! Ashlyn was my daughter's dental assistant & she was super nice in explaining everything to my daughter & everything went so smoothly! Couldn't be more happier with finding my daughter a dentist and office whom we'll definitely stick with as she grows!!

They were fantastic!. I took my 11 and 4 year old; the latter was apprehensive the entire visit. The staff showed nothing but patience and offered to ease her fear by letting her hold things and allowing her to pick a movie. Definitely going back. Update: went back and still had a fantastic experience. Kids are 12 and 5 now, they were excited to go! Definitely a change from last time and any other place we've been.

Todays visit was a great experience for my 7 yr old daughter and 3 yr old son! The staff are professional, caring and great with kids. They also had cute back to school gift bags. Today was the first day meeting Dr Adam and we all were very impressed! He is very approachable, professional, yet great with kids! They both commented after how much they liked him. He also took the time to explain and show me which tooth bothered my child and why; which was much appreciated! Very positive and smooth visit. Thank you staff!

We have loved our experience with Dr. Nelson and his staff. They really do care about connecting with the children and making them comfortable. Dr Nelson has been our dentist for over 21 years and had put braces on 3 of my kids and given them beautiful smiles. We love the staff!!

I'm 20 years old now. Came here when I was 16 to get all my fillings done. About a year later was in another dentist with an abscess on a tooth that had been filled. After getting X-rays of all my fillings the dentist apologized to me for the work of my previous dentist, which was a dentist here. I knew the fillings weren't good because the ones he filled on my front teeth were uneaven, and a brown spot showed through, uncovered by filling. I couldn't run floss through those teeth for years. When I did get my fillings here I always felt it and it always hurt. I wish I had gone somewhere better then maybe I wouldn't have dealt with what I have with my teeth

I've been coming to Dr. Nelson for several years. He and his staff are always very kind and efficient. They are especially good with my special needs daughter, and have gone beyond the call of duty several times for us. My kids always look forward to their dentist appointments.

I love love love this office!! I brought all 5 of my kids at the same time and they were all done with cleanings and X-rays in 30 minutes! My kids age range from 17-5 years old and they all had a great experience! The staff is super friendly and made sure my kids weren't afraid and enjoyed their time there. The doctor was very thorough and took his time to explain any teeth issues my kids had with me. I was beyond impressed with their efficiency and their phenomenal interaction with my children. I will be referring everyone I know to this place!
