Dr. John Kempton has spent his whole life around kids and lots of them! He grew up on a farm in Chandler, Arizona as the ninth of twelve children. With seven sisters and four brothers, 56 nieces and nephews, and five sons of his own, he has plenty of experience with kids of all ages. His career as a pediatric dentist is the perfect fit for him.
Dr. Kempton did a lot of training to become a pediatric dentist. After living in Spain as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he earned his undergraduate degree in Spanish from Arizona State University. In 2007, he received his D.D.S. from University of Iowa College of Dentistry. In 2009, he earned his Pediatric Certificate and Master's in Oral Biology from Baylor College of Dentistry and a year later, he passed the test to become a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. While at Baylor, his research regarding rare dental disease was also published.
It's not hard to tell that Dr. Kempton is a family man. He and his wife, Jessica, have been married for 20 years and they have six active boys. After living many different places, they are happy to call Yuma their home! When Dr. Kempton is not working on teeth, he likes working on old Chevy trucks, serving in his church and community, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and riding the sand dunes.

We had not been patients previously but when my young daughter suddenly had tooth pain they were able to get her in the next day. The office is very clean and kid and parent friendly. Dr. Kempton was very patient and good with my toddler and explained everything to me along the way. Highly recommend!

The Dr is always very respectful to my son and is amazing with him on getting him to cooperate. By far, one of the best dentistry I've taken him to.

John is my uncle and I've always known that he was a good dentist but I would take my kids to a pediatric dental office in Mesa because it was closer to where we live. My dentist in Mesa said they would have use general anesthesia to make my 3 year old unconscious to work on his teeth . He wasn't cooperating for them and had a lot of work to be done (12 cavities). I took him to John hoping he could maybe take care of just his worst cavities and I could avoid putting him under. John got ALL of his teeth fixed without putting him under AND my boy had a positive experience. At my other dentist it took me and a dental assistant 20 minutes to convince my boy to swallow his "sleepy juice" because he didn't like it. John got him to swallow it in 5 seconds because he turned it into a fun game. I'm going to make the 4 hour drive every time from now on because I feel John was really that good.

Long story short , Dr.Kempton was beyond amazing with my toddler . She is almost 3 and hates anything do with doctors opening her mouth since she had tonsillectomy. Dr.Kempton was very relaxed ,sang to her , and made her feel at ease. She left there happy . I couldn't thank them enough for handling her great !

Excellent customer service, trained staff, my daughter loved it, the place is beautiful and well located, ample parking, the staff is bilingual, I recommend it.
