Childrens Dental Health isdedicated to serving your child withthe finest pediatric dental care possible. Each of our friendly and compassionate pediatric dentists has received an additional two to three years of specialized training with a focus on children. Their approach to care involves a show, tell, do method, in which each pediatric dentist is careful to first show a patient what they plan to do, and explain how or why they will do it before taking action. This ensures that children are comfortable with dental equipment and they they begin to learn the routine of what to expect at each dental visit.

Following your check-in at our front desk, your child will be escorted to one of our treatment chairs in our patient hygiene bay, where they will be able to relax, put on their (super cool!) sunglasses, and watch a movie during their check-up. The hygienist will then perform a teeth cleaning, which includes flossing, and fluoride application.

Once your childs dental cleaning is complete, one of our pediatric dentists will perform a complete examination of your childs teeth and mouth addressing any additional concerns. Your dentist will then recommend a schedule for your childs future dental visits, which can range from once every 3 to 6 months, depending on their risk level for cavities. Once your childs visit is complete, they will receive a fun prize from our kids treasure chest, as well as a dental goodie bag, which includes a child-sized toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.

Pediatric dentists are specialists in treating the unique needs of children. A pediatric dentist has completed an additional 2-3 years of specialty training beyond dental school and treats the oral health needs of infants and children, including those with special needs. Pediatric dentists are skilled at using smaller equipment designed for a childs mouth and better understand the intricacies and importance of baby teeth in a growing child. They also focus more attention on educating patients and parents about preventive care to help children avoid complications such as decay, infection, speech problems, and cosmetic issues.

Primary, or baby, teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to erupt. It is important to remember that oral health affects more than the health of your teeth. Cavities in baby teeth cause pain and swelling that can be tremendously uncomfortable for your child. Oral infections can enter the blood stream and lead to other serious health problems. Bacteria can quickly jump from one part of the mouth to another, thus resulting in infections and cavities in new erupting adult teeth.

Were always looking for opportunities to help our patients form healthy habits at a young age! Our team loves to get involved in our community by visiting kids in surrounding school districts or attending local community events. If youre an educator or parent who would like us to visit your school or event, you can request your school visit, dental screening, or FREE virtual curriculum session below.

We wait for an appointment for a few months. ( new patient) Finally I took my daughter the day of the appointment and the office was closed. They never call me to let me know. I took my daughter out of school for the appointment. If you need to call to the office a call center answer the phone. They didn't even said sorry and told me that next appointment will be next month . I found a different dentist.

I have been taking my son to this dental office for quite some time now and I never been so upset with them till now, THEY canceled my 10 year Olds appt because there was no provider that day, ok I can understand sometimes things like this happen so I need to reschedule so that's what I did 6 MONTHS FROM NOW, I couldn't believe it I had to ask her again cause I thought I misunderstood her but no I didn't it's 6 MONTHS FROM NOW. My son has problems and needs his teeth cleaned every 6 months, I took the appt but I'm looking for another provider.. t(my opinion is) they don't care about the children, seems to me it's all about $$$

Awful customer service. I had an appointment for my two children set in August, they called me to reschedule and the soonest they had was October. Then, the day before the rescheduled appointment, they called to reschedule again. This time they were booked until April but might be able to "fit us in" in January. The woman on the phone was very rude to me about the rescheduling and did not seem to care.

They were fantastic with my 12 and 3 year old! My 3 year old has a lot of anxiety for appointments but they were amazing and accommodated to her needs! I highly recommend Children's Dental Health for pediatric dental care!

I called in June to schedule my child's first dental exam. The next available appointment was the end of October. I made the appointment and even called in August to verify my appointment and to provide my insurance details. When I showed up on the day of the appointment I was told the office was closed and they don't have a doctor in on Fridays. The receptionist was there so I guess they just do office work? They offered to reschedule me and I declined. They said they sent a text 3 days prior that I never received. I was beyond irritated to drive with my young child to an appointment 35 mins away and then not even get services. Why was the appointment even scheduled? I definitely don't recommend this office and will take my child to my dentist.

Horrible! Scheduling was a NIGHTMARE to say the least called for an appointment twice and both times they canceled the night right before the appointment after the office closed so couldn't even call to see what was going on! Do not recommend

I have had my son's appointment scheduled for over 6 months. I randomly get a text saying they cancelled his appt days just a few days before he was scheduled. Now I am trying to reschedule and they are saying they can't get him in for 5 months. Absolutely ridiculous and very unprofessional.

My daughter went in with a broken crown- there was an opening and it was fixed immediately. Sarah went above and beyond with her care and professionalism. Highly recommend when your child need ER care!

This place masks their incompetence and disorganization with movies, large jungle animals on the walls, and little toys for children. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! My three boys have been with them for couple of years now, and I have never been happy with them, but my patience has run out. My son needed his work 6 month ago, his appointment was cancelled TWICE and 6 month later, his cavity is larger and needs to be seen ASAP. Every time the appointment was cancelled, my son was distressed because he had to work up his courage for that day. It is one thing to toy around people's schedule, but another to toy around with children's emotions. I have singed my paper to get all of the medical forms so that I can go somewhere else, BUT they refuse to release the forms for 30 days. In 30 days, my son will be in pain. I have called many times and talk to many people, but you never get to speak with people who can make anything happen. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN. That's the bottom line.

They called to cancel my daughter's appointment I made 6 months ago due to a provider not being in the office, said they can get her in 6 more months. Then offered an appointment the next week just for a cleaning but the actual dentist would not be there. Went in for the appointment and they sent us home after they reviewed her file because apparently my daughter has a cavity and cannot be seen while there's no provider on site. They could have done this before rescheduling this appointment and wasting our time. Now she has to wait another 6 months for a cleaning and 2 months to have a cavity filled. This place is pathetic. My family uses 2 other dentists (who don't take this daughter's insurance) and we never have these problems, so I don't want to hear about staffing blah blah blah. If you're having staffing issues, look at your place's work environment, policies, benefits, and pay and DO BETTER.

This place is a joke!!! Scheduled a cleaning for my child waited 2 months for them to call me day of and hr before her appointment to tell me they have to reschedule and then tell me they have no openings until January!!!! Are you kidding me! How about when YOU have to cancel you fit them in, in the next couple days NOT months away!!!! Will never take my child here again!

My son was very nervous about his 1st dental appointment. The staff was great. Very friendly and explained to him what every tool was and what they were going to do.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This place is disgusting. If you are reading this, get a second opinion! Your babies deserve better than what this place can give you. We came in for a normal routine cleaning and were told my 4 year old needed 8 SILVER CROWNS and 2 white!!!! Her teeth were fine 6 months ago at our last visit. We brush and we floss and have had 0 issues. The very rude dentist handed me a pamphlet for a very poorly rated surgery center and sent me out the door after looking in my baby's mouth for 20 seconds. No explanations, nothing. We went for a second opinion at an actual clean, highly rated dentist (Gettysburg Dental Associates- Just Kids) and it's funny she needed none of that! Just 2 small fillings. Their staff was actually friendly and took the time to explain everything to me. Children's Dental Health of York wants your insurance money and is preying on families that don't know any better to get a second opinion. Please please do not go here and put your family through what we have been through. I will be reporting this business on every single outlet I can. If you need more info, find me on Facebook I'd be happy to share more of my experience and help.

As soon as I got to the office on time for my visit and to fill out the paper work I had to wait for almost an hour to be called and after that I went to the room with my baby and the Dentist looked like she was in a hurry because she just expended like 5 minutes in the room with us to check her teeth and just that. She left the room and didn't even said goodbye and also left me with a bunch of questions that I had since this was my baby's first dentist visit.

They have a corporate policy they don't allow parents in the room with your child. I just recently moved up here from Florida, I also lived in Virginia and both pediatric dentist allow parents. The children are minors!! Why can't a parent be present?
