Childrens Dental Health isdedicated to serving your child withthe finest pediatric dental care possible. Each of our friendly and compassionate pediatric dentists has received an additional two to three years of specialized training with a focus on children. Their approach to care involves a show, tell, do method, in which each pediatric dentist is careful to first show a patient what they plan to do, and explain how or why they will do it before taking action. This ensures that children are comfortable with dental equipment and they they begin to learn the routine of what to expect at each dental visit.

Following your check-in at our front desk, your child will be escorted to one of our treatment chairs in our patient hygiene bay, where they will be able to relax, put on their (super cool!) sunglasses, and watch a movie during their check-up. The hygienist will then perform a teeth cleaning, which includes flossing, and fluoride application.

Once your childs dental cleaning is complete, one of our pediatric dentists will perform a complete examination of your childs teeth and mouth addressing any additional concerns. Your dentist will then recommend a schedule for your childs future dental visits, which can range from once every 3 to 6 months, depending on their risk level for cavities. Once your childs visit is complete, they will receive a fun prize from our kids treasure chest, as well as a dental goodie bag, which includes a child-sized toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.

Children’s Dental Health of Wyomissing - Pediatric dentist in Reading, PA

Pediatric dentists are specialists in treating the unique needs of children. A pediatric dentist has completed an additional 2-3 years of specialty training beyond dental school and treats the oral health needs of infants and children, including those with special needs. Pediatric dentists are skilled at using smaller equipment designed for a childs mouth and better understand the intricacies and importance of baby teeth in a growing child. They also focus more attention on educating patients and parents about preventive care to help children avoid complications such as decay, infection, speech problems, and cosmetic issues.

Primary, or baby, teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to erupt. It is important to remember that oral health affects more than the health of your teeth. Cavities in baby teeth cause pain and swelling that can be tremendously uncomfortable for your child. Oral infections can enter the blood stream and lead to other serious health problems. Bacteria can quickly jump from one part of the mouth to another, thus resulting in infections and cavities in new erupting adult teeth.

Were always looking for opportunities to help our patients form healthy habits at a young age! Our team loves to get involved in our community by visiting kids in surrounding school districts or attending local community events. If youre an educator or parent who would like us to visit your school or event, you can request your school visit, dental screening, or FREE virtual curriculum session below.

Absolutely horrible! They constantly cancel appointments and then can't rebook them for 5-6 months later! Dr. Silpa yells and gets nasty with my Autistic son. They have sent a memo to the orthodontist three times now that told them to take off the wrong brackets so my daughter could get a cavity filled. If I could give them 0 stars I would! Immediately switching! Horrible!!!!!!

I was really worried because of all the bad reviews. Everyone was really kind and lovely, we didn't wait long at all, and they actually seemed to care about my son's teeth and weren't dismissive at all.

Two weeks in a row, we show up to be sent home because they are short staffed. I wouldn't be unhappy if we were to have received a call but we are actually showing up (making arrangements with work schedules to get there) to be sent away. Today I was told they have one more appointment I have to take or I have to wait until March for my child's teeth cleaning?? Do not come here.

Canceled our appointment due to staffing shortage, but the problem is they can't see them until months later.

I am very disappointed with my experience. My daughter had an appointment booked months in advance. My fiance and I altered our schedules for said appointment. I also received confirmation before the appointment just for my fiance to go there with several parents who had the same time and the doors were closed. Then, they were told (via a parent calling the office) that staff did not show up and we received notification that it was canceled which was untrue. There was no communication or even an attempt to reschedule. They show up to a business that was closed. Absurd, unprofessional, and a lack of consideration for others.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!! I repeat DO NOT take your children here!!! This place needs to be shut down. Absolutely horrible place. My at the time almost a year old had her very first dental appointment here and it was not a good experience! We were locked in a room for over 40 minutes. Now note she was a baby who didn't even walk yet. The only thing to do was crawl around on the floor. Then someone came in to clean her teeth for like 5 seconds and then we waited again for who knows how long. Finally the dentist came in, put her head in his lap and looked in her mouth. Neither people were friendly whatsoever. Neither tried to make her feel comfortable. Needless to say we never went back again!!

I thought this dental office would be our new one after moving to the area from out of state. Seemed decent, clean, took our insurance, providers and staff were friendly. A couple human mistakes but overall as positive an experience as one can expect with their child at the dentist. Then, the day before, we get the usual confirmation text. Everything is fine, no worries.. until we show up at 830am to locked doors, black windows, and five other confused and upset families, a few of which are on the phone. One rep told a disgruntled mom that they meant to send cancelation texts instead, apologized for the error, and offered to reschedule all of us in March.. 8 months away. And aren't we supposed to go to the dentist every 6 months?? .. I tried calling the office a total of 4 times now. Each time asking the rep to send a message High Priority or Urgent, asking for supervisors, office manager.. I've never felt more like a Karen in my life tbh. Zero contact, no call backs, no messages, nothing. Save yourself the headache. I should have seen the waving red flags in front of me. Those little human errors? Asking for the same information over and over (not to verify mind you, just not using active listening skills).. multiple appointments and delays and reschedules and prior authorization and billing errors? Run. This place isn't worth your time or your children's. Edit: Can you believe they responded to my Google review faster than calling me to reschedule?? Lmao! I had to call twice after posting this to finally get my problem solved. We found another dentist office and I can't wait to tell these guys to suck an egg.

The most unprofessional place to go. My daughter needed a tooth pulled, they scheduled it for 2 months down the road, which I thought was too far. and then when we finally go to the appointment, the office is closed. I had to take a day off from work and lose pay and I was never notified by anyone that the office will be closed. Just a sign outside notifying us that we have to reschedule the appointment. The lack of consideration and professionalism for a medical office is appalling.

This place is horrible!!!!!!! Needs to be shut down . My daughter is only 6 and I've been having to deal with her having dental issues . She has a bad infection on her one tooth with more than one cranked tooth . The dentist keeps telling me to give her Tylenol for pain or mortrin . She's been on antibiotics for almost a year now on and off . They keep telling me to bring her back after her fever goes away because fever is a covid symptom. She wouldn't have a fever if she don't have a tooth infection. This is patient negligence. I took her to the emergency room today after her appointment and doctor recommended me to a better dentist . It appeared that my daughters tooth infection was causing her to have a throat infection as well . I'm definitely suing.

Communication is nonexistent! I have tried to reach their office manager multiple times and only got back TWO emails since August. I will be looking to change facility.

Looking over the rest of these reviews, I'm confused if I even went to the same place with my 7 year old son. We were scheduled for a 4 pm appointment and arrived at 3:50. We were called back at 3:55. The front desk receptionists were friendly. The hygienist asked me if I wanted to be with him. At no point was it ever stated that I would not be allowed to be with him. My son actually wanted to be "independent" and told me to wait outside but as it being our first time there, I wanted to be in the room. He does have some special needs and I was worried about that. They were very accommodating and kind and patient with my son. They explained each tool to him and what each one will be doing to help him keep his teeth healthy. They took x-rays and they did find cavities in his molars. Everything was explained to me clearly and I met with Carita to schedule a future appointment for his fillings. Due to him being special needs, yes, he needs to be put under anesthesia which is not performed at this office (and I understand that because most of my dental surgery/involved work needed to be scheduled elsewhere as well as an adult). I was also impressed with the colorful offices, the kid's movie playing on the TVs and they even gave my son coins to get little gifts after his appointment. I had such a pleasant experience with the staff in general, especially Carita. Maybe I just went on a good day? EDIT: Time for an update. It's 9/7. I had an appointment scheduled at 5 pm today. I get there at 445. Guess what? Sign on the door that said the office is closed and all the patients were properly notified. Huh. Mind boggling. Not to mention, this was a RESCHEDULED appointment from the last time they suddenly cancelled on my son in July. We showed up to our appointment time to be told it was cancelled and I should have been called. I wasn't. So whatever, I rescheduled even though it's now almost 2 months later and this happened. No problem, Children's Dental Health. I only just had to drive through rush hour traffic twice and once again and am probably going to have to wait 2-3 months for an appointment. Families, do yourself a favor. Save yourself the aggregation and go somewhere else. This place is run by incompetents of all sorts. By the way, called at 4:50 to reschedule an appointment with the main hotline. Do you think they answered or even returned for a call back? LOL

I had three appts scheduled all at the same time for my son, niece and nephew. They canceled two of my appts but not the third. Then they tried telling me the next available appt they have for my niece and nephew is Feb 1st 2023. Absolutely ridiculous. So my niece and nephew have to wait another 6 months to get their teeth cleaned. But god forbid if you don't keep up with your appts they will report you. My son the one who's appt wasn't canceled has an appt in the afternoon, we'll it's midnight and I just got a text message from this worthless place stating the office will now be closed. I had it with this place. This place is nothing but a big joke. I took my five year old out of this office and took him somewhere else because they kept canceling his appts and they have no training or knowledge with patients on the spectrum. They never once tried looking in his mouth or anything, but quick to take that payment. Screw this place. I rather take my kids somewhere else. Update: I found a new dentist office for my kids and was extremely satisfied how fast they got them in the same day called.

Keep canceling appts and send texts extremely late at night to let you know the office will be closed the following day. Very unprofessional.

Terrible service. Trying to talk to somebody nenwho can help is near impossible. They scheduled us for a procedure and had no idea about it when we showed up at the appointment. They had the appointment on file, but no notes on what should be done.

Never again! My mother-in-law took my daughter to her appointment as I had to work, to only be told that the appointment had been canceled. What a waste of time! Never received a cancellation call or automatic text. Her appointment was rescheduled. Today, they go back for that appointment just to be forgotten in one of the rooms for 2 HOURS! This is so unprofessional and I will not have my daughters waste their time at this place again.

Cancel appointments and don't call then cancel cleaning and filling because they say it too soon for a cleaning even though my child has Got her teeth cleaned every three months for the past seven years now they decide to change it and tell me that she can't do that and it still won't fill her cavity. When you try to call nobody ever answers the phone you can central answering service not even affiliated with That office. Nobody ever has answers.
