Childrens Dental Health isdedicated to serving your child withthe finest pediatric dental care possible. Each of our friendly and compassionate pediatric dentists has received an additional two to three years of specialized training with a focus on children. Their approach to care involves a show, tell, do method, in which each pediatric dentist is careful to first show a patient what they plan to do, and explain how or why they will do it before taking action. This ensures that children are comfortable with dental equipment and they they begin to learn the routine of what to expect at each dental visit.

Following your check-in at our front desk, your child will be escorted to one of our treatment chairs in our patient hygiene bay, where they will be able to relax, put on their (super cool!) sunglasses, and watch a movie during their check-up. The hygienist will then perform a teeth cleaning, which includes flossing, and fluoride application.

Once your childs dental cleaning is complete, one of our pediatric dentists will perform a complete examination of your childs teeth and mouth addressing any additional concerns. Your dentist will then recommend a schedule for your childs future dental visits, which can range from once every 3 to 6 months, depending on their risk level for cavities. Once your childs visit is complete, they will receive a fun prize from our kids treasure chest, as well as a dental goodie bag, which includes a child-sized toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.

Pediatric dentists are specialists in treating the unique needs of children. A pediatric dentist has completed an additional 2-3 years of specialty training beyond dental school and treats the oral health needs of infants and children, including those with special needs. Pediatric dentists are skilled at using smaller equipment designed for a childs mouth and better understand the intricacies and importance of baby teeth in a growing child. They also focus more attention on educating patients and parents about preventive care to help children avoid complications such as decay, infection, speech problems, and cosmetic issues.

Primary, or baby, teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to erupt. It is important to remember that oral health affects more than the health of your teeth. Cavities in baby teeth cause pain and swelling that can be tremendously uncomfortable for your child. Oral infections can enter the blood stream and lead to other serious health problems. Bacteria can quickly jump from one part of the mouth to another, thus resulting in infections and cavities in new erupting adult teeth.

Were always looking for opportunities to help our patients form healthy habits at a young age! Our team loves to get involved in our community by visiting kids in surrounding school districts or attending local community events. If youre an educator or parent who would like us to visit your school or event, you can request your school visit, dental screening, or FREE virtual curriculum session below.

I usually do not write reviews however I want to make sure everyone is aware that the front office check out staff needs to be more careful when checking patients out . My daughter was seen yesterday by the dental hygienist .. she was great did the cleaning etc. Once we were ready to check out .. the check out receptionist gave us our next appointment with my daughters name ... then proceeds to tell me I have a copay because my daughter was just seen in June. I disagreed with her and said no my daughter was last seen in March this is her 6 month visit. She proceeded to say no I'll print out the visits for you. Once she printed out the paper she's showing me that the last visit was June .. I looked at the top and and said my daughters name isn't so and so it's Olivia. Long story short the receptionist had the wrong chart opened while checking out my daughter . I know everyone makes mistakes but this is a HIPPA violation to show me someone else's list of visits . Please make office staff aware to double check the charts while checking patients out. If I was that other patient's parent I wouldn't be too happy with someone else seeing my daughters list of visits and reasons why . Thank you!

I usually have a decent experience with this place but I can't get my son scheduled to save my life. They only offer morning appointments when he's going to be in school, and apparently have NO later than 3:30... when he's still in school. Any later appointments aren't until October...for a 5 year olds check up. It's a bit ridiculous

They did not attempt to call as stated my lil had only two cavities came back with all crowns. Same with my big one was suppose to get one crown all teeth was down. I called the facility that did it and was told oh he would get cavities eventually yeah maybe n maybe not. Like I said it's bc we have Medicaid from the state.

If there is one thing I hate, it's having my time wasted and that's exactly what this Dental Practice did. I called yesterday because my children were scheduled to be seen next week but I had a conflict in my schedule. If I wanted to reschedule for the afternoon they didn't have appointments until August but if I did morning the had appointments for today. Great! Got the standard confirmation text and a phone call checking to make sure we were attending. No COVID screening questions were asked at any point. We get to the office and I fill out their little screening questionnaire and mark that my kids have a cough. It's that time of year where kids get colds and they've had lingering coughs for a few weeks. The girl who took my form said she would talk to the doctor about the cough. I told her my boys had gone to the doctor last week and tested for the flu and COVID and were negative. She said she was sure it was not a big deal and they would still be seen. We were asked to wait and a few minutes later we get called back. I get informed that the doctor says we will have to reschedule the appointment. I explain to the person and she says she knows that a lot of kids have coughs these days but the doctor still wants to reschedule. I told her that they really should be asking screening questions if that is still a big concern and she told me that they are supposed to be asking them when they call to confirm. Clearly the staff isn't doing their jobs and this could've easily been avoided. I understand if the doctor is not comfortable still because of Covid but in order to prevent wasting somebody's time they should've done their jobs and asked the screening questions like they're supposed to. Needless to say I will be looking for a new dentist because I cannot waste my time with people who are unprofessional and are not doing their jobs. Unfortunately this is not the first time I've had an issue with this office and I just don't have the time to deal with it anymore.

My three year old is on the autism spectrum and has some anxiety about going to the dentist. We were able to go to CDH of West Grove the day before her first appointment for an exam and cleaning, for a preview/tour. There, she got to meet some of the staff and see the facility, as well as get excited about all the fun toys! So when we went the next day for her actual appointment, we were both a bit more prepared, and she stayed calm the whole time - no meltdowns or tears! Everyone really seemed to know how to talk to her, AND me (I'm on the spectrum too as it happens, and my kid tends to be at ease when I am and vice versa, who knew). I get to refer to this visit now, instead of the anxiety-provoking last one that we had at another place, when I'm explaining why we have to brush her teeth, etc. And I think she may even look forward to the next visit a bit if she gets a preview of the new toys that are waiting :)

My son had his first visit to this office and it couldn't have gone better. He was obviously nervous, being that it was his first experience at the dentist, but he did great and the hygienist, Jackie, made it so easy for him. She really took the time to explain what she was doing and made both of us feel comfortable. I highly recommend this place!!!

They were so great with my kids, and my kids love to earn the coins for prizes. So happy to switch my kids to this dentist office!! My daughter didn't even cry when they took care of her cavity because they made it a great experience. They were so patient with her anxiety. Wish we went here sooner. Highly recommend!

I am very thankful to how professional this office is in the case of a child dental emergency. My child is only 15 months and they were able to answer my questions after hours as a new patient and schedule her for an appointment the next day! I am very thankful and happy with my experience with this office. Good experience for children dental. Thank you again for your professionalism!

We have been coming to CDHA for years- and always had a great experience. My daughter was referred to a oral surgeon from this office and was told that x-rays were sent over. I sent the referral. I called the oral surgeon a few days later to confirm everything was sent and to make the appt. No x-rays. Today was the fifth time calling the dentist office to ask them to send over the x-rays or I can pick them up and send them myself. Was told that they would not be ready today and now I have to sign a release. Why didn't you tell me this the first time I called, on Oct. 7th. I called yesterday and was told that they would be sent in 15-20 minutes. After 5 times calling- something needs to be done. 5 times calling and asking for the same thing to be done is a bit much.

I'll give you 2 stars as I'm grading the service without being seen. The dentist care in the past has been fine. I will be finding another dentist due to disorganization and unsafe covid conditions. During a time of covid, I never expected to be waiting in a waiting room with so many other patients for so long. You should have had a room ready for us to walk into immediately. Chop in west grove does it- you all are being dangerous. Also in regards to covid, you gave a covid questionnaire when I was already in the office. So for you to make us leave once we were in a room was unsafe on your part if you were concerned about exposure. If I called from the parking lot and you told me I had to leave because I was in NJ for 24 hours to help family I would have been fine. We had way too much exposure without even taking our masks off and I will not be returning. There are places that are being safe and those that are not, and you all are not being safe. Get with the program. Second, I asked several times if my 2 small kids would be seen by different technicians in regards to needing another parent there. they said yes at the same time and I said my husband would be coming to help me as I would take one and he would take the other. I was not told otherwise until we were there. In the end they would be in the same room, one after the other. I don't know why that was so difficult to find out in advance. Response: Yes, we quarantined after exposure for the 2 weeks as suggested by CDC and we had negative tests to present if asked. The exposure was Friday, November 6th. I was never told the covid questionnaire was online. I came home from NJ to help my husband with the 2 kids because I was told the kids would be seen at the same time by 2 different technicians. I told the person who I made the appointment with that we both would be there, one for each kid, if that was the case. I was not corrected. I have no indication you have people go straight back- I was not told to call when I was in the parking lot nor was there a sign in the door to call I'm advance. There were 4 other people in your small waiting room. 2 guardians and another parent with a child plus my family. Yes at the time of check in there were 2, but two additional people came into the waiting room while we had to wait. Ps. I looked for your covid checklist just now. It's not on your website. I was in to website prior to the appointment to complete the new patient paperwork and perhaps if it was actually there, I would have noticed it to begin with. Having people complete the checklist in the office causes unnecessary exposure. I was obviously going to be honest with you- please change your protocols. Bottom line: I want to others to know your covid protocol is unsafe. I hope you all update your protocol to ask the covid questions before people are actually in the office and have a room ready for patients to go into immediately and also to be clear about what a visit with 2 kids at the same time would look like so only the necessary about of guardians are present.

Appointment rescheduled and ultimately canceled by the office during COVID time frame. Office did not reach out to me to reschedule, I needed to. Once at the appointment, 6 year old son was taken back to cleaning/assessing area by himself. I wish I would have pushed for me to go back with him. He reported that he was asked to swish a mouth rinse for 30 SECONDS (a 6 year old!) and not to swallow it. He was upset in the fact that he could not do this and did, in fact, swallow some (again, no caregiver with him). At the end of the appointment, I was brought to the check out area in which, whom I believe was the dental hygienist, notified me of a fair amount of cavities (which we have never had before). She was rushing me along to fill out consent forms for the cavity fillings and barely able to answer my questions. I was also provided an orthodontist referral, again never seeing an actual dentist to hear about the concerns for my own son. I left the office fuming. This office and practice is impersonal, sees too many patients at once and does not take the time to sit and inform the correct people of the treatments needed. I immediately looked for a new dentist as soon as we left the office.
