Childrens Dental Health isdedicated to serving your child withthe finest pediatric dental care possible. Each of our friendly and compassionate pediatric dentists has received an additional two to three years of specialized training with a focus on children. Their approach to care involves a show, tell, do method, in which each pediatric dentist is careful to first show a patient what they plan to do, and explain how or why they will do it before taking action. This ensures that children are comfortable with dental equipment and they they begin to learn the routine of what to expect at each dental visit.

Following your check-in at our front desk, your child will be escorted to one of our treatment chairs in our patient hygiene bay, where they will be able to relax, put on their (super cool!) sunglasses, and watch a movie during their check-up. The hygienist will then perform a teeth cleaning, which includes flossing, and fluoride application.

Once your childs dental cleaning is complete, one of our pediatric dentists will perform a complete examination of your childs teeth and mouth addressing any additional concerns. Your dentist will then recommend a schedule for your childs future dental visits, which can range from once every 3 to 6 months, depending on their risk level for cavities. Once your childs visit is complete, they will receive a fun prize from our kids treasure chest, as well as a dental goodie bag, which includes a child-sized toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.

Pediatric dentists are specialists in treating the unique needs of children. A pediatric dentist has completed an additional 2-3 years of specialty training beyond dental school and treats the oral health needs of infants and children, including those with special needs. Pediatric dentists are skilled at using smaller equipment designed for a childs mouth and better understand the intricacies and importance of baby teeth in a growing child. They also focus more attention on educating patients and parents about preventive care to help children avoid complications such as decay, infection, speech problems, and cosmetic issues.

Primary, or baby, teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to erupt. It is important to remember that oral health affects more than the health of your teeth. Cavities in baby teeth cause pain and swelling that can be tremendously uncomfortable for your child. Oral infections can enter the blood stream and lead to other serious health problems. Bacteria can quickly jump from one part of the mouth to another, thus resulting in infections and cavities in new erupting adult teeth.

Were always looking for opportunities to help our patients form healthy habits at a young age! Our team loves to get involved in our community by visiting kids in surrounding school districts or attending local community events. If youre an educator or parent who would like us to visit your school or event, you can request your school visit, dental screening, or FREE virtual curriculum session below.

My child was in line for more than 6 months for orthodontics of her teeth, but they did not follow the application they gave and their excuse was that they don't have a doctor. If you don't have a doctor, why do you play with people's time and don't respect your customers' time? They seek to get money from insurance, not to serve people

I love the idea of this practice because it truly helps that the kids can watch movies and the theme is awesome BUT... they have why too many patients in the practice and it VERY hard to schedule. They had reschedule our sons appointment due to no doctor being in the office the day of his routine cleaning, they weren't able to fit us in for another five months! Our son will almost go a whole calendar year without a cleaning! It wasn't us having to cancel but the practice didn't have a dentist in the office on a Monday afternoon? Not sure why we weren't put on priority list? I do feel like it's a very rushed with your kid. Also if you take more than one kid you won't be able to go back with them which I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I took my boys to get a teeth cleaning at this location & was disturbed by their lack of patience with kids. They do not allow parent in the room with their kids, in fact parents have to wait in their cars. After my boys were done, my youngest son who is special needs (and the dentist were aware of this), told me that the dental assistant cleaning his teeth told him that he made her job harder. I was appalled by this comment and decided to report it to the manager. I left a message with one of the staff members and they told me a manager would be contacting me. Months later...Still no call back. Avoid this place at all costs.

Yet another poor experience... one of my sons had an appointment and he has cavities... they couldn't get him in until 3 months later to start the process (multiple appointments for multiple cavities)..seriously... 3 months?!? My other son's appointment for a check-up was September 1st. I called to confirm because I was getting conflicting text messages... they have to cancel that appointment and reschedule... their next available appointment is for FEBRUARY!!! That is six months away! They are canceling on us and my son has to be the collateral damage and not have his teeth cleaned for a whole year (from our last appointment this past winter). I have got to find another pediatric dentist that actually cares about these children! Not to mention that this practice already asked my teenager daughters to find a general practice dentist because they didn't want to deal with their needs any longer. Ugh... so tired of this horrible practice, that STILL INSISTS ON MASKS! Yes, another issue I have with them and their lack of common sense!

Literally had a day from HELL! Got 3 little kids ready, drove to the wrong building, drove 15 minutes the opposite direction just to get there 15 minutes late. I had appointments for 2 of the kiddos, but they offered to take them all. A huge win. But the staff omg are they amazing. Front desk is kind and patient, Dore is heaven sent and I hope she never sees a bad day. The whole ordeal was so chaotic but the kids said they loved it there, and can't wait to go back... to the dentist haha. They accept Delta Dental!

The staff here is very nice and friendly. The wait time was very short and the services from the doctor and supportive staff was amazing. They completed the scheduled procedures and answered any questions i had.

Im a patient in the Mechanicsburg location . I was for years at a different location which was a wonderful experience . This is not the case here . A few months ago my son went for a cleaning and found out he had 7 cavities . He never had but 1 cavity so this was traumatic to him and he had a melt down . They were so rude when I asked questions . I finially calmed him down and waited the months to get him in . They made 3 app to fill the 7 cavities . I took him to his first app he did good . Took him to his 2nd . They tell me he has 2 more app . So I was confused . They forgot to make the last app and then tell me that the next app was September even though it was there mistake . Then they call me yesterday for his 3rd app that they have to close the office office tommorow early and if I can't come in between 12-1 then I would have to wait to the end of august . All of it so rude and I'm so angry . I will finish with his cavities but I will be leaving this practice .

I would not recommend this office. The building itself inside needs an upgrade, leaves something to be desired. The dentist was nice and knowledgeable as was the assistant, but the front office staff was awful. Rude at check in and gave us an extremely hard time about copays and billing. They did not submit a preauthorization to my insurance, which I confirmed with my insurance, then was given attitude when I questioned them. Not allowed to be in the room with your child for cavity procedures, even though it was his first and he was so nervous. Will not be coming back to this office!

If your child with special needs requires dental services you could not find a better place in the State of Pennsylvania to take them. Highly recommend. Outstanding provider from time we entered until time we left. Best experience in dental ever. Thanks so much. 2 years later...still the best...amazing 2022

I had to go in for an urgent visit and this place is awesome. Staff are lovely and caring people and they took care of my granddaughter that day. I'm not sure if they are always able to do this but I send so many thanks because she is no longer having tooth pain. Keep up the awesome work love you guys

Avoid Dr. Kim!!! I don't understand why people do something they don't like. He has always been very rude when I had to talk to him. Kids are kids and you just have to act friendlier and kind to them. You can tell he doesn't like kids. My son, who was 5 at the time, had to get dental surgery because he had cavities. Well, I didn't know he was going to loose most of his teeth I cried when I saw him I guess that's the easy way of taking care of things. I really regret taking him their to get surgery. Same thing is happening with my nephew they want to take all his front teeth out. He just doesn't have the patience to treat younger kids.
