Childrens Dental Health isdedicated to serving your child withthe finest pediatric dental care possible. Each of our friendly and compassionate pediatric dentists has received an additional two to three years of specialized training with a focus on children. Their approach to care involves a show, tell, do method, in which each pediatric dentist is careful to first show a patient what they plan to do, and explain how or why they will do it before taking action. This ensures that children are comfortable with dental equipment and they they begin to learn the routine of what to expect at each dental visit.

Following your check-in at our front desk, your child will be escorted to one of our treatment chairs in our patient hygiene bay, where they will be able to relax, put on their (super cool!) sunglasses, and watch a movie during their check-up. The hygienist will then perform a teeth cleaning, which includes flossing, and fluoride application.

Once your childs dental cleaning is complete, one of our pediatric dentists will perform a complete examination of your childs teeth and mouth addressing any additional concerns. Your dentist will then recommend a schedule for your childs future dental visits, which can range from once every 3 to 6 months, depending on their risk level for cavities. Once your childs visit is complete, they will receive a fun prize from our kids treasure chest, as well as a dental goodie bag, which includes a child-sized toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.

Pediatric dentists are specialists in treating the unique needs of children. A pediatric dentist has completed an additional 2-3 years of specialty training beyond dental school and treats the oral health needs of infants and children, including those with special needs. Pediatric dentists are skilled at using smaller equipment designed for a childs mouth and better understand the intricacies and importance of baby teeth in a growing child. They also focus more attention on educating patients and parents about preventive care to help children avoid complications such as decay, infection, speech problems, and cosmetic issues.

Primary, or baby, teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to erupt. It is important to remember that oral health affects more than the health of your teeth. Cavities in baby teeth cause pain and swelling that can be tremendously uncomfortable for your child. Oral infections can enter the blood stream and lead to other serious health problems. Bacteria can quickly jump from one part of the mouth to another, thus resulting in infections and cavities in new erupting adult teeth.

Were always looking for opportunities to help our patients form healthy habits at a young age! Our team loves to get involved in our community by visiting kids in surrounding school districts or attending local community events. If youre an educator or parent who would like us to visit your school or event, you can request your school visit, dental screening, or FREE virtual curriculum session below.

Bad experience in office with trying to make my kids go back alone. Caused nothing but screaming and then they let me come back but at that point my kids were worked up, it was downhill from there. Your lucky is IF you can get in. They will cancel your appointment the day before or you won't be able to get anyone on the phone to schedule or reschedule.

So I never had a bad experience with Children's Dental Health until today. So my daughter had a dentist appointment today to get crowns. Well she wasn't numb all the way and tried to tell the dentist that she wasn't numb all the way and it hurt. Instead of paying attention and listening to my daughter, he tells her she needs to sit still and listen that she wasn't a good listener. So she came out crying because he was being mean to her when she was just trying to tell him it hurt. So I called and reported him. Don't treat my daughter like that and expect me not to say nothing. If your not gonna listen to your patient when they are trying to communicate pain to you then you need to lose your license.

This used to be a good dental office but now I hate bringing my children here. They cancel appointments without even telling you after waiting months to make one.

Very Long wait to get an appointment and when you go the day of the appointment they just Said we cancel your appointment, but don't send any notification and the said yes they sent it in your face, when you proof you didn't received, it happened to me 3 times, playing with your time.

Our experience overall was great! The staff was very friendly! The waiting room was a bit crazy but that didn't affect the quality of care that was received.

I had a horrible experience at this facility. First of all the place was dirty, the floor, chairs, walls, etc. Even my 5-year-old child noticed it. Personals from the front desk were nice but not the Dentist and his assistants. My child and I noticed that the children were getting inside of the room for cleaning or treatment by themselves, (without a parent). My child got concerned and I told him that I would be by his side all the time. We went there for a consult, I asked the dentist questions about my son's teeth but he didn't t care about it at all and was like skipping the answers. He just answers me that the tooth needs to be removed. With no explication, just like that. Then he told me "wait a minute" stand up and walk away. I was like what is going on?? A couple of seconds after, I heard him laughing with his assistants, very unprofessional one of his assistants walk in and handed out the treatment consent form. I was really confused. I told the assistant that I won't proceed with the treatment and that I prefer to go to another place.

This is one of the best dentist facilities that I've ever seen for young children, I have had my grandson here 4 times so far and he definitely enjoys it. In comparison my mom had to drag all five of us into the dentist kicking and screaming back in the sixties. I appreciate the extra mile that this office goes to make this an enjoyable experience from the waiting room up to the check out with a small gift or stickers for my grandson at the end of his visit. The staff has always been very courteous and friendly... good job!

I have taken my daughter here several times. Most recent appointment I was extremely dissatisfied. The dental hygienist asked my daughter, who just turned 4, if she is a "big girl" and can go on her own to get her teeth cleaned. My daughter nodded yes, not knowing what she meant. When I questioned it, I was told "we are teaching independence". My daughter then realized what she meant and began crying that she didn't want me to leave her (mind you, I had JUST got her to calm down about even going to the dentiqst in the first place). I did NOT appreciate this at all. I am the parent and I will decide when my daughter should be independent with what. No little kid wants to be at a doctors or dentist office alone and they shouldn't be at this age. I was also annoyed because after trying to get my daughter to calm down just to brush her teeth, the same hygienist suggested "pinning her down". Needless to say, we won't be returning. NOW several weeks after this had been posted, I was NEVER personally contacted by this office despite their comment posted below. That alone is concerning.

This is the 1st place that got my daughter to even get in the chair let alone look in her mouth. Great service great people. The environment is so cute and relaxed. The waiting room is a big hit with our girls, they loved being under the ocean.

Very friendly, clean, personable yet professional while COVID conscience. From front office staff to hygienist everyone very friendly and understanding and patient with my daughter. Would have given a fifth star but the dentist was not friendly at all with my daughter nor was he patient with her was very rushed and impersonal. This was the first time we had him and the first time we ever experienced this kind of service by anyone at this practice. Not the norm here.

It was terrible. It was my sons first appointment, he's one and the dentist held him down on the table while trying to talk to me and my son was screaming. I would've much preferred him to look into my sons mouth, maybe point out a few things and then talk to me but he had a 5 minute conversation while holding my son down. Then the dentist mumbled and barely showed that he even wanted to be there. I got absolutely nothing out of the appointment. Lastly, the dentist just left the room without saying anything. As I said this was my sons very first appointment so I had no idea what the protocols were in this office so I sat in the room and waited then staff got mad at me because I was sitting in the room. Absolute worst dentist ever. Also the atmosphere was hectic and unorganized.

They never are on time with there appointments and they rarely can keep your appointment times, always rescheduling, even last minute when you are on your way to your appointment after taking off work and taking your child out of school they cancel. I'm am done wasting my time and money on them people in the Harrisburg office!

I took my children to this office for a second visit. Both visits felt rushed. During the most recent one, I felt like they did next to nothing... brushed my kids with a normal toothbrush and did no deep cleaning or flossing. Dentist didn't even introduce himself and was super quick and communicated poorly with us. Did not really check their teeth at all... just looked for a second and slapped some fluoride on their teeth very quickly and said they were fine. It felt like everything was on warp speed and less than thorough. Check out staff did not communicate with us or greet us. I had to get her attention and ask for an appointment card. My oldest has a disability and I had to get the approval of the management so my mother could help assist me since I had two kids there at the same time. I also had to ask to be able to go back with my children, one who absolutely needs my assistance. It felt like too many hoops to jump through when such requests are usually a no brainer under the circumstances. I don't think we will be back. Also, the waiting area was too small. I realize they are trying to space people out because of the pandemic, but there were far too few chairs and people were standing. They should not have scheduled so many people if they didn't have adequate socially distanced seating. Some of the decorations in the waiting area are in poor shape and one particular fish tank thing is disgusting and full of scummy mouldy water. Not very appealing.
