Dr. Jemima Poitevien, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, is originally from Brooklyn, New York. She considers her Christian Faith, her family, and her caring for her pediatric patients to be the most important things in her life. In 1988, she graduated from Eisenhower High School, Lawton, Oklahoma, with honors.
In 1999, Dr. Poitevien completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) program at St. Anthony Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The residency has equipped her with progressive training in all specialties of dentistry, in conjunction with both Full Mouth Dental Rehabilitation in the operating room and Intravenous Sedation in the dental clinic.
In the beginning of 2000, Dr. Poitevien began to serve as Assistant Clinical Director to the GPR program at St. Anthony Hospital until 2008. It was during her years at this hospital that she discovered her admiration for Hospital Dentistry.
While Dr. Poitevien continued to work as a general dentist, her love to render dental treatment to infants and children through adolescence was becoming her dominating passion. Consequently, in 2013, she completed a two-year Pediatric Dentistry Residency program at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, New York. At the end of her first year of the program, by virtue of her personality, her positive attitude, her clinical skills, her ability to get things done in a timely manner, and her being a great team player, the faculty selected her to be one of the two chief residents.
Upon completion of the Pediatric Dentistry Residency program, Dr. Poitevien returned to Oklahoma where she has been caring for pediatric patients both in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan area and at the Cherokee Nation W.W. Hastings Hospital, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she continued working until the end of 2018 to open her own pediatric dental practice in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
In addition to her extensive education, Dr. Poitevien is trained and certified in both Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support in order to demonstrate her commitment to treating children in the safest manner possible.

Absolutely horrid place. The way they conduct business is unprofessional. Just wasted a 45 minute drive for a business advertised as "open" and show up to locked doors. Don't waste your time here if you can help it.

Lady at front desk is very rude. Tried calling to cancel and reschedule my daughter appointment and she hung up on me. Understand they had computer issues day before. However, if front desk can not even get there coordination correct and patient care I dont know why they are even open. Somethings needs to be done about this lady at the front desk. So unprofessional.

I've never been treated so disrespectful by a dentist receptionist in my entire life! Two times I had to reschedule my son's appointment because they wanted me to pay out of pocket and my son has insurance. I contacted my insurance company and was informed that I didn't have to pay anything they are in network etc... When I informed receptionist she said that she didn't want to speak to anyone and she is canceling my appointment. She yelled at me and Lord knows it was totally uncalled for!! I was nothing but nice to this woman and she got nasty with me in front of my son!

I honestly think the people complaining about the receptionist are reacting a little brash. This lady is sweet, willing to help, and cares about the kids. Yes she has a thick accent and sometimes I have a hard time understanding her, but a little miscommunication never led to a bad experience. Take time to understand culture. I imagine half of y'all calling are already highly emotional, depending on the circumstance, and when she calms y'all down, y'all consider it rude and that's not fair. Sometimes people need to be more perceptive.

I am honestly in disgust with the way I was treated by the receptionist today. I called asking questions about an emergency and I was clearly crying and stressed out and the receptionist was yelling at me, mocking me, and making it seem like I was the dumbest person in the world to be asking her questions. I am in shock after reading the reviews with the same experience and cannot fathom why anyone would keep a receptionist who acts in this manner. Do better.

Overworked my son teeth with excessive dental procedures over extended time frame under heavy anesthesia for a minor. I was panicking considering Dr said she schedule my son for a hour surgery that turnt out to be almost two hours. He return in my arms with a heavy nose bleed. All due to prolong exposed to high nasal oxygen flow, if not too much narcs. I think it was an emergency that was covered up.

I give a 1 star because of the receptionist the receptionist was rude. I spoke to the receptionist she was rude to me I want my daughter schedule but she talk to me very rudely she can't lessen to me and yelled and said she wouldn't reschedule the appointment I have lot of other patients and drop my phone .

Hear me when I say, TAKE YOUR CHILD LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE. They ruined my child's adult teeth. They told me they may have to pull my baby's front two teeth because she had to get caps on two teeth in the back. She said that the front two teeth were loose so she might have to pull them so they aren't in the way? I said okay to that thinking she's a professional, surely my child is safe with her. WRONG. When my daughter came back out they had pulled FOUR teeth out of my daughters mouth. As they started to grow in I noticed that these teeth were severely discolored. No, not yellow; DISCOLORED. I went to a new dentist and was told it is due to trauma of pulling them too early. All to make a little money off of MY BABY!!!! I have called multiple times and left voicemails with no return call. They are money hungry, she has a MISERABLE attitude and front staff clearly hate their job and you will see it from their behavior and the way they speak to customers. RUN!! My daughter will have to spend her whole childhood with discolored teeth until she is old enough to have it cosmetically repaired. She has lost other baby teeth and they have grown in beautifully! It is only the four teeth she pulled that are completely damaged. I'm SICK over it.

Will never step foot into this dentist office again. The office manager is EXTREMELY unprofessional, rude, and tactless. She was aggressively mean and rude over the phone when I called for directions because my gps had me going in circles for over 20 minutes. She spoke over me and hung up in my face. Then I called to let her know that was rude and I still did not know where I was going, and she starts yelling at me over the phone and then hangs up in my face again. So I had no intent to speak to her once I got there, requested a manager to speak to and she beats on her chest and aggressively let's me know it's her. I refused to receive any help from this woman because of her NASTY, tactless, and unprofessional behavior. She also shoo'd me away, and told me to go sit down even though I demanded to be helped by someone with some interpersonal and customer service skills. Therefore, I just left because the disrespect was highly uncalled for . Of course people are liars and full of pride so they're not going to acknowledge their wrong. However, I went out my way to patronize a brown owned business.

So blown away on how amazing this place was. So clean and nice looking, amazing staff. They were so caring and helpful about everything. They did such an amazing job on working with my daughter and their bed side manner was off the chart top notch amazing. I wish adult dentist were this awesome. Definitely recommend this pediatric dentist and Dr.P amazing

After reading reviews, I was genuinely cautious of being optimistic. Seeing "the receptionist was rude" or "I couldn't understand her" was genuinely a fear for me. However, all of these reviews got proven wrong, in my opinion. This establishment was so clean and fun to be in! The staff, oh my goodness, they were all absolutely phenomenal. And quite frankly, I believe the receptionist with the "thick accent" was absolutely my favorite. Smiling and genuinely great personality! The dentist was amazing and I am so thankful my kids had her as their care provider for their teeth! Unfortunately, to no fault of this establishment, I missed an appointment due to my car and they do NOT do reschedules for surgery. So have a back up plan just in case. I 100% will recommend this place to anyone I know with littles.

Dr. P aka Dr. Mimi and her staff are absolutely amazing! She has done work on my son's teeth 2x, 2 years apart and he absolutely loves her. He is terrified of the dentist, EXCEPT Dr. Mimi. She is so patient and so sweet and is so good at keeping the kids calm. I was so happy to see she has her own practice now. She is absolutely amazing and we highly recommend! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

I wish I could rate higher! Dr P (the one and only dentist) cares sooooo much about my kids! She has called me after hours, she has scheduled my kiddo (on short notice) on her lunch break! The kids love her and she is so awesome with them! I absolutely love her and her mother (who runs the office). I can not say enough about them, we will always come back!!

Im not going to lie I was a little iffy about going here due to some of the reviews but all I can say is see for yourself. I took my daughter for a consultation here today. The lady with the French ancient was super friendly and very welcoming. She was even over the phone when she was helping me set up the appointment. The dental assistant and Dr. Poitevien were hands down some of the best kids dentist I have met. They both were wonderful with my daughter and kept her comfortable and laughing. Even my daughter said she wants to start coming here for now on. Overall GREAT place!! Thank you to everyone.

Love the nurse staff and dentist but the woman in the front, with the foreign accent isn't helpful at all, she's grumpy and demeaning. Even though I wasn't too happy with the receptionist, the dental work is great and they took great care of my daughter while she was there!

"Dr. Jemima Poitevien and her staff are always professional, yet very personable. I have full confidence in Dr. Poitevien expertise and that of the hygienists, as well. My little girl has had nothing but positive experiences (as positive as a dental visit can be!) with her office since her very first appointment. The receptionist was extremely rude on Thursday February 25th. I stepped into the waiting area to take a business call and she started yelling, telling me I can't be on my phone and I need to be in the room with my daughter. The tone was unacceptable and I'm shocked she has a job there still after reading all the reviews then with my own personal experience. The doctor and rest of staff is awesome 10/10. We will not be coming back!!
