My son was in distress about the light in his eyes and told Dr. T this. His response was to yell at my child and tell him it was fine and to stop fussing. My husband rushed over from where our other child was getting his cleaning at that time to tell the dentist it wasn't alright to tell our son that it was okay when it clearly wasn't. Dr. T responded that he had 5 kids and knew how to handle kids. Someone who will yell at and gaslight children is not what we were looking for in a pediatric dentist.

We love this place!!! They are amazing and very honest. Ali is the best, she always makes my daughter feel so good and comfortable. My daughter today asked me to please never change our dentist please... If I could give 10 stars I would!!! Keep up the great job!!!

Amazing experience! Great staff, very friendly on the phone and by email and even better in person. Office is very welcoming and is themed for children to feel more comfortable. Dental hygienist was incredibly sweet and friendly to our sweet babe. Dr. Drew is the best! Loved our first experience at CDCM Fitchburg and can't wait to for our next appointment. Highly recommend.

We have been here plenty of time and it it always my favorite. when we got to the room I noticed the person doing my kids teeth had something interesting on her shirt, it said "Autism dancing to a different beat" my son is autistic and he didn't notice which makes me more happy but its inoperative and offensive to have that at a children's dental center and very inappropriate. I don't know how she still has a job when she's wearing that shirt! I asked my son if that would be offending to have on a shirt he, he said yes. I also asked my friends which have kids who are autistic too, they said there kid would get really offended and would want someone else to do there teeth, if They saw something horrible like that! my kids were complaining the whole way home on how bad she did and how bad their teeth hurts. Never coming back again. Really bad.

My son has been going here for years for his regular check ups. The waiting room is inviting. The kids are well taken care of by all the staff.

My daughter struggles with going to the dentist but they do a great job of putting her at ease. It was not a long wait and X-rays and cleaning and the visit with the dentist went quickly. Dr. Dowd and her assistant were great! We will be back.

If I could give Dr. teDuits and his staff 10 stars, I would. They're thorough, patient, compassionate, and kind. Two of my three children have had some dental fears in the past, however, after regular visits here, all of their fears have been alleviated. It's a fun environment, you can tell the staff gets along wonderfully, and I just couldn't recommend them enough.

Absolutely amazing dental center. We have never had such a pleasant experience at a dental center our children are both In love with this place (1 yr old and 6.5 year old). The staff are so friendly and well educated. Always willing to be patient and work with your children on there individual needs. Getting a token at the end of the appointment for being amazing Is always a plus. We will never go anywhere else!

I've had two awful experiences here with my five year old seeing Dr. teDuits. And after reading other reviews I realize we're not alone! I waited to post this review until I tried another dentist (Affiliated on Odana) and realized how much better the experience should have been. My son is five and autistic. The first sign that things weren't going to go well here is they restrict any special needs kids to the earliest possible hours of the day. That should have been a red flag on its own! Anyways, my son is very smart but is terrified of the dentist. The nurse/technician did her best to make him feel comfortable but it wasn't enough and he was not being complaint. After she did her counting and basic cleaning she called in the Doctor (teDuits), and that's when things really went south. My son continued to be terrified and was not properly laying back on the chair or keeping his mouth open. The doctor was very stern and aggressive that we needed to hold my son down and restrain his arms to keep him still. This was now the second visit and the same strategy the doctor insisted on as the first visit, but this time I couldn't just allow my son to be traumatized and have this be his experience of the dentist, so I told him we're done and leaving. That's when the doctor told me in a very condescending tone that his opinion is that this is how a non-compliant child should be handled, as if letting my son get out of the dentist without being traumatized was bad parenting. I didn't let his patronizing tone convince me and we left. I then called Affiliated Dentists on Odana and a few months later we had another attempt. It was night and day! The nurse was so good with my son and realized he was incredibly smart and needed to have everything explained to him so he understood what everything was before it was used. She had him touch and feel all the instruments and try them all on himself first before the cleaning. In particular, he loved controlling the vacuum/sucker tool! He was still very nervous and apprehensive but he wasn't screaming or crying and even smiled and had some fun with the sucker and water tools. The rest of the cleaning was far more successful and the Doctor was much kinder and gentler with my son and not once did she suggest having to restrain or force him. That's when I realized how unacceptable our experience here was. I will always remember how awful Dr. teDuits made me feel, as if my son was broken and the only way he would ever be able to have dental work performed would be under heavy restraint. I just knew something was wrong about his approach and I'm so glad I trusted my gut and tried another dentist who was actually good with kids (ironic, huh?) because my son is not broken and he can be successful at the dentist and the amount of relief and happiness I feel right now is immense. Your experience may vary but if you had a bad experience here please know there are other options where your child may be far more successful.

My kids have been going here for 10 years now, since they were age 2 & 4 and they absolutely love it! I was terrified of the dentist as a kid, so I am beyond thrilled that my kids have no fear and are excited about going to the dentist! My daughter even had 2 teeth filled without even realizing it...she was so absorbed in the movie that was playing on the ceiling mounted TV! Dr. Dowd and the staff are so skilled & good with kids and explain everything so clearly. I am so thankful that I found Madison Children's Dental!!!

I brought my child to Children's Dental Center in Fitchburg in September 2019. I thought the building was well constructed and geared towards children. I thought the receptionists had good customer service. The hygienist we met was wonderful and patient with my 2 yr old. This was my child's first appointment and I established trust with her by going slow and giving her time to adjust to the next step by explaining what was going to happen. The hygienist brushed my daughters teeth and checked to make sure everything looked normal. It went well with no fusing or crying. Then came in Dr. Eric teDuits. He introduced himself politely and then dove into the appointment. I was starting to explain what was going to happen next to my daughter when he grabbed her arms to lay her back. It was very fast and forcefully. She cried and struggled during the examination. For a pediatric dentist I feel he was lacking in the patience needed for working with children. If I could have finished preparing my daughter for what was going to happen it wouldn't have been so scary for her. Also, I ended up paying $143 for them to evaluate her teeth, do a flouride varnish and literally brush her teeth. As someone with a dentistry background I found this to be outrageously expensive even for a specialty practice. If they had actually done a prophylaxis then it would make sense for the bill to be that high. Unfortunately, due to the experience I will not be going back to this clinic. I am hoping my experience was an isolated event and isn't the norm at CDC-Fitchburg. ***Update*** I am increasing the rating due to the follow-up from CDC office manager. She was very kind and truly listened to my concerns. She also went over my bill with me in an itemized fashion. It gave me a better understanding of the charges and I no longer feel the way I did. I feel the prices for services are average. I realize that the Doctor I saw may not have been the best fit for my family. (Everyone is different). For people looking to schedule, I would recommend relaying to the staff what needs your child has to find the best fit.

The best dentist for kids! I have 4 kids(11yrs - 2yrs). I drive 40 min from our home to bring my kids to this dentist. Dr. T and his staff are amazing. My kids all ask me when they can go back to the dentist.

My daughter Kingston had her first visit and the staff was amazing with her. Did xrays, a cleaning and nothing but smiles from her. Thanks so much.

My child needed some work done in the office and the Dr was very rude to his assistant and had very poor bedside manner. He worked so quickly that he was not gentle leaving my child very sore and uncomfortable the rest of the day. Even Tylenol did not help. He only offers one treatment plan and does not provide options. The explanation of root cause to any dental problems is the same regardless the child or family. There is very little preventative measures offered or root cause explanation. The treatment for one of my children was inadequate and trapped decay under a cap which ultimately grew into a problem that resulted in pulling the tooth. When the tooth was pulled, my child told him that they did not have enough local numbing but he would not stop to give more and refused to stop even when I asked two times. He rushes and is not careful enough creating more problems. In general the staff and office seem very stressed, unhappy and it negatively impacts the patients experience and results of the treatment.
