Being a pediatric dentist is a great honor for me. I am able to provide care for my patients in a fun, lighthearted way daily. This, along with the lessons I am able to learn from my patients of all ages, is a true blessing. I honestly couldnt see myself doing anything else! Dr. Matt

Dr. Matt Husman, Dr. Matt to his patients, considers it a privilege to help guide girls and boys into lifelong dental patients who will fully appreciate the importance of proper oral hygiene and dental care. From helping a youngster who may be afraid or anxious and providing them with not only a helpful but enjoyable dental experience, to providing proper dental treatment to get a child out of pain or discomfort, Dr. Matt is passionate about his patients care.

Dr. Matt is originally from Rapid City, South Dakota. He earned his undergraduate degree in cell biology and neuroscience from Montana State University in Bozeman. After shadowing many professionals in the oral healthcare field, Dr. Matt realized that, as a dental professional, he could make a positive difference in the lives of his patients, as well as those in his community. He graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, and completed his general practice residency certificate from OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

As a healthcare provider, Dr. Matt understands the importance of being a lifetime learner, and participating in continuing education courses makes this possible. Continuing education helps Dr. Matt stay up to date with the latest in dental advances and treatment modalities, and enableshim to offer the best possible care for his patients. Whether it is the latest in caries prevention or new techniques in restorative dentistry, continuing education not only broadens his dental knowledge, but also helps with day-to-day patient care.

In addition to continuing education courses, Dr. Matt is actively involved with several professional organizations. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Matt enjoys spending time outside with his wife Rachel and daughter Audrey around many of the numerous lakes in the Twin Cities. They play on a volleyball team throughout the summer, love to travel, and are always looking for a concert to attend. Dr. Matt loves to cook and try the many wonderful restaurants throughout the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. He is also a huge sports fan, especially of college and pro football.

Dr. Brent, as he is called by the children who visit the office, lives in Prior Lake with his wife, Lisa, and three daughters; Greta, Ava, and Ella. Dr. Brent grew up in Eagan and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1986. The following spring, he attended St. Olaf College. When he wasnt studying or playing football, he enjoyed mentoring and helping local troubled middle schoolers with their problems.

In 1990, after graduating with a B.A. in biology, he continued his education at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Brent spent three rewarding months of his dental training in Nijmegen, Holland, participating in the clinical dental exchange program.

After graduating from dental school in 1994, Dr. Brent knew pediatric dentistry was his future. In 1997, he completed his residency in the division of pediatric dentistry at the University of Minnesota, with a masters degree in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Brents thesis on the Incidence of Oralfacial Injuries in High School Sports was published in the Journal of Public Health Dentistry in the fall of 1998.

Dr. Brent has beenwith Children's Dental Caresince 1997, and a partner since 1999. He enjoys covering emergencies for the Minnesota State High School League, and assisting young at-risk athletes with mouthguard use.

I have never met a kiddo who didnt make me smile. They are all unique and fun! I love my profession, as it offers the chance to see a whole spectrum of patients, from infants with feeding issues to children with anxiety or special needs, to teens with dynamic, fascinating interests.

Personally and professionally, I am an ardent supporter of each child as an individual. The best part of my job is getting to know every little one as a person and being part of their life as they grow into a wonderful young adult.

I am convinced that the best care practices in pediatric dentistry change as fast as kids do. It is important to learn and acquire as much knowledge as constantly as possible, so I know I am providing patients the absolute best dentistry in terms of safety, longevity, and quality.

My husband, Meysam, is a pediatric neurosurgeon at Childrens Hospital. Weve been married for more than a decade and have four lovely and wild children. Our family is rounded out by our dog, GusGus, who mostly prefers to sleep.

My free time is spent (trying to!) keep up with my children and their many interests; we do make time so they can teach me new dance moves! I also love cross-country skiing and am an avid reader, when I can find a few quiet moments to indulge.

I have a masters degree in public health and love teaching parents and kids about childrens oral health and maternal/child health, too. I am especially proud to have helped organize a group called 22q Connections Minnesota, which supports families affected by 22q deletion, also known as DiGeorge Syndrome.

I am so fortunate to affect my patients lives by using my knowledge and skills to maintain and restore optimum oral health, alleviate any pain or discomfort, and establish a positive relationship with their dental provider at an early age. This, I believe, goes a long way in eliminating future dental phobias and allowing them to have a positive outlook on their oral health.

Working with so many unique people everyday enriches my life, since everyone has a different perspective to offer. I learn from everyone around me on a daily basis! I love getting to know and interacting with my patients and providing a friendly, positive, and fun dental experience for their visits.

Being a part of this profession means that I have the knowledge, skills, and ability to make a difference in the oral health of the youngest members of our community. As a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as local dental societies, I continue my education to stay up to date on techniques, materials, and procedures. It allows me to deliver the most current, evidence-based dental care to my patients to enable the most successful outcome possible.

Originally from Boone, North Carolina, I currently reside in Saint Paulwith my husbandCharlie and our cat George. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with Charlie and our friends, traveling, being outdoors, trying new restaurants, and exploring all the Twin Cities has to offer.

My daughters (and I) have nothing but great things to say about Children's Dental Care. They are kind, gentle, and are great at explaining each step of what they are doing to my kids.

Very patient and kind staff. Everyone is laid back yet professional. They're also pretty accommodating in terms of scheduling which is nice. I know that it's hard to get little ones to sit still especially when it involves someone poking around in their mouth but they're pros at it and very gentle. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new pediatric dentist in Dakota county.

The only dentist that was able to make any progress with my daughter. Very empathetic and warm towards the children. A previous dentist had suggested we get anesthesia to complete the job. Here she didn't even need to be numb and was laughing during the procedure.

Not a fan. We moved to MN and I knew they my son needed some dental work done. We did not have time to do it before we moved. We went in for a consult. I walked into the office and there was no one at the front desk but a computer to sign in on. I tried to sign in but the computer was not working. Really not working frozen. Curser wouldn't move. Not working. I sat down and got back back up when someone came to the desk letting them know that computer was not working. She insist that it was because I was not in the system. I tried to explain that no it really isn't working. It has nothing to do with the system. Nothing is working on the computer. I know how to use a computer. I've worked with them for years. A couple minutes later a very nice assistant came and got us and we went back to a treatment room. They started doing the exam. No one introduced themselves. I let them know that my sons history was kind of lengthy and I had some questions for the dentist when she came in. No one explained much. Then one of the women said "this the dentist". It was the same lady who came to front desk! They ended up cleaning his teeth and we scheduled the work he needed to be done. They were not able to take X-rays. My son was having a few issues. Ever other dentist had been able to work with him and get X-rays . I then got a $79 bill for a consult. Seriously. I have never been charged for consult. I am going to be paying hundreds of dollars for dental work. My family moves frequently for my husbands job. I have a lot of kids. We have seen 9 pediatric dentist before this experience. If your child is an easy going kid it might be fine. If you have a child who is fearful or has some anxiety I would go somewhere else. Since this experience I have found a different pediatric dentist who has done an amazing job with my son. Guess what they didn't change for consult. I have been in the medical field. I understand some office charge for consults, some offices apply the consult fee to the work if you go with them. If my son went in for a regular cleaning (which they did) and the dentist noticed things that needed work-would they still have charged for a consult or just the cleaning they originally went in for? Between the fee and the issues with the dentist I would not recommend them. Our family dentist refers often to her. I ended up asking for a referral to a different place. At time I was told that they have a few patients come back and request someone else. Everyone has off days I get that.

Dr. Kerry does an amazing job with my four children. When my oldest child needed a filling, he didn't even realize Dr. Kerry at numbed up his tooth. They all love going for their 6 month cleaning and the option to watch shows during their visits is great. I highly recommend visiting Winters Pediatric.

My daughter had her first dental appointment today at Winters pediatric dentistry. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the dental assistant, Julie F, was so sweet and explained everything to my daughter before she did anything and Dr. Winter's was wonderful. They also had headphones and an iPad for her to watch while she was getting her cleaning, which she loved ! My daughter had such a great first dental visit and I am so grateful for that!! She even said "mom I liked that!" As we walked out to the car!
